2000 Chevrolet Tracker PROBLEM SOLVED!
VIN: 2CNBE13C7Y Symptoms: Poor Idle Quality, Cuts Out, Stall, After driving for a while, the RPM'S jump up and down, the car bucks (stop & go) and sometimes ...
Had your tracker ever shut down completely while driving and when it shut
down your rpms were at 0 while it slowed to a stop position? and how hard
was it to chnage the crankshaft sensor and do you think it would keep the
car from cranking? Because my engine will constantly turn over but wont
start and i changed the cam shaft sensor
I took it in to have it fixed. First it was the crank sensor and then the cam sensor went out. It will cost some money because the transmission had to be taken out to get to the sensors. I recently had to replace my alternator and that was easy. That was the only time my car died while i was driving. I like your +Chris Redfield d name. Are you a fan of Resident Evil?
Hello, Did you replace or just clean the passages related to the EGR
circuit ?
I've heard that just cleaning usually does the trick.
Valve is on the back of cylinder head, correct ?
Our 2000 Tracker (2.0L twin cam) has bizzare idle behavior, low / so low it
vibrates with AC on, overly high without AC on, like 1500-2000.
Just replaced the IAC motor, didn't seem to help at all.
Thanks and appreciate any input you can offer.
Cheers, David
What I know from my mechanic is that the Cam and Crank sensor needed to be replaced. Other maintenance I've done myself includes draining the power steering fluid and replenished it, changed an idler pulley bearing, tensioner bearing and replaced the serpentine belt. My car runs very smooth now. It still idles low sometimes when I come to a stop, but I hear thats an easy fix. The reason I replaced my power steering fluid is because the steering wheel was not fluid and my car was making a loud ticking/grinding sound when I made hard turns.

suzuki SX4 Engine noise.wmv
Suzuki SX4 Engine noise at cold start. Noise disappears when engine has warmed up usually.
Could it be an issue with a Pipe in the System?. My SX4 doesn't make that
sound, but when starting 1st time from cold, it's a little bit harder, and
it makes a "Crack" sound at the moment the engine starts. Also I had a
problem with the "Blower" of the Air Con, it "flooded" the passenger side.
carpet. Also a sound of water sometimes when idle (might be the fuel tank).
Have you checked the water pump, hoses or anything? Just trying to think of
all of the items that would be... How is the sx4 by the way? I've thought
about getting one but the problem is lack of dealerships I can get work
done at. There's one near my house about 20 minutes away...but it's one of
two in the whole state of Michigan
Never found out for sure, seems to be slack in the timing chain. Not enough
to be a problem, but just enough to cause vibrations and the noise. I no
longer have this car anyway so it's someone else problem now!
the big end mate. its done the baring. I bought mine new - at 150000k it
went. I think the oil; light sensor is in the wrong place and it does not
go on when the oil is too low.
