Porsche 928S (2) RW Bearing Installation
Installation of the Rear Wheel Bearing of a Porsche 928, using a spindel and plate and the car's old bearing. I put the new bearing in the freezer (-18degree C), ...
I have used the same method of using the old bearing to press the new one
in. To avoid the old bearing from getting stuck in the bearing carrier,
grind a few thousandths of an inch off the outer surface of the old
bearing. Also note that the inner race of the old bearing should not be
pressing against the inner race of the new bearing. It is why I really like
to use a "cup" against the outer race when pressing a bearing in.

I think that is a relatively common failure on those throttle bodies. I had
to change the bushings one time with a kit that I got directly from Bosch.
It was a hassle just getting the throttle body out because one of the bolts
is in a position that makes it nearly impossible to get to. The guys at
Bosch laughed when I mentioned that. They said that fought with Porsche a
long time, telling them not to run the injection lines that close. I
finally got them out and replaced and as far as I know the car is still
running.
Why not get a plate of steel or brass, drill two Center holes, then use the
two Center Holes and build a holder for the Lathe, that way you can lathe
any size plate and the shaft holes will be perfectly centred every time.
Also could you not use a lathe insert tool holder set say 15degs so the tip
is the OEM measurement so when you get as far as you can it's a nice smooth
cut taper instead of a sharp step?
Why don't you check your messages on your email and you phone that is bad
business as specially when you have ppl that want you to do out of state
projects!
I did it, FINALLY! My MSM has become the first street-driven Miata ever under 2:00 at Buttonwillow (Race #13). Also, it's the 6th Miata ever to break 2:00.
$20 question is who are you Mr anonymous, mutiple user IDs. I know everyone
in the Miata TT world and in this thread personally but you hide. What
qualifies you to make assessments on anything related to Miatas? Every kid
thinks that RTA results prove something. Does it matter that FXMD's 600whp
NSX isn't really faster than Evasive's 290whp S2K? Does it matter that the
2008 AWD "street" class winner had no roll bar and a $40K race engine in a
$125K car? I just don't see the worship material.
@TrackAttackMiata SM record you quote was on Nascar 3 &4 config, not
T12-T13. But who needs facts when you have IRTB's and the all encompassing
driving and tuning knowledge of 19 yr old.. who? Oops, you're hiding on
youtube after getting all 5 of your user ID's laughed off the forums and
the threads you start locked. Do you think that what you write matters to
anyone but you? Gotta lotta hate goin for such a young guy in a scene where
everyone else is friends. I feel sorry for ya kid.
@TrackAttackMiata ah the truth comes out. 19 yr old punk nobody IRTB
fanboi. SM record at Homestead means nothing. The driver was me, in a
borrowed underprepared PTE car. I broke the PTE record on my 5th lap, never
having seen the track. Within what rules? You don't even make sense. And
yes your identity means something. You enjoy poking at us but don't have
the balls to identify yourself. Weaksauce. So I need to prove myself to
you? ROTFL. Get a job and move out of your moms house.
In the Rotrex car's defense, he's only at 230whp and Matt's somewhere
between 300 and 350whp, which is a feat in itself. Also, unless there's a
rule dictating tire limitations, especially for lap records, then
anything's fair game. If anything, I'm curious to see Matt drive on
Hoosiers. It should be easy with those for Matt to beat 1:54.471.
@TrackAttackMiata lol, scared of spending money on it, sure. Sorry dude,
I'm not an RTA or SLB fanboy. The fastest track cars are roadracers, not
Time Attack cars. Why don't you ever answer questions about your secret
identity and multiple user ID's? You have something to hide?
Actually 1:56.2 with 230whp, 2240lb car (210 lbs heavier than Matt's car)
on NT01's with the Kraftwerks Rotrex Supercharger. 1:54.4 on faster A6
tires which are legal in Miata Challenge unlimited where the fastest Time
Attack Miatas all are.
Arguing on someone else's video is like running in the Special Olympics.
Even if you win, you're still retarded. On a side note, the lap was
intense, and I tightened up every time your wheels squeeled into those
curbs. Nice driving!
I was joking about the limit thing. Actually, I do saw quite a bit during
my track days, but they tend to be the slower laps for some reason. In this
case, it wasn't.
Two Miatas might, but no official word from them yet. And yes, I know
there's more time and it'll all come down to refining my driving further.
Thanks again.
Congratulations! That's a nice achievement under the belt.
