Official Highlights | UNC TE Eric Ebron
With the draft right around the corner, The ACC Digital Network profiles the ACC's top football players and highlights some of the greatest plays of their careers.
Lombardi hasn't been using any of his TE's much this year. Ebron has already shown his athleticism though, he has a lot of potential. OC just needs to use him
Its just My opinion but if I'm a GM in the NFL If I take a TE in the 1st
round before pick 20 I need to be fired! You didnt miss the playoffs
because you didn't have a TE
+Deven Bottiaux I agree. A lot of Detroiters expected a defensive pick, but most i think aren't complaining about Ebron. I mean Pettigrew just wasn't getting it done for us on the TE position and teams aren't going to win or lose based on TE but if you can get one that's this athletic i don't think you pass on him. I'm excited and expect big things from Ebron and the Lion's offense this year w/ Stafford having more options w/ Bush in the backfield as a great check down RB and Megatron and Ebron to throw to
He's going to be great. He won't be used as a TE really. He's our slot man and I bet will also play wide sometimes. He's an athletic freak. He's already been compared to Vernon Davis and it's being said that he's more athletic than Vernon Davis coming out of college. Great pick.
+Deven Bottiaux I think he will be good a good pickup and a weapon. I just think Detroit should have went Defense. Maybe he and Petigrew can be a great tandum
How about if they make an impact like Vernon Davis? He's supposed to be Vernon Davis 2.0.Better athlete than Vernon Davis was coming out of college... that's huge and I for one love this pick.
Wasn't Tony Gonzales drafted 10th? If Ebron ends up being as good as say Vernon Davis this was a good pick for the Lions. Ebron won't be used as a traditional TE, he'll be used like Jimmy G down in New Orleans, lined up in the slot taking pressure off Calvin Johnson. Welcome to Detroit Eric
+Jesusarus Rex That's a big if! Graham, Gronk when he's healthy, Vernon Davis are great weapons! But defense/ offensive line wins championships! We saw a JUGGERNAUT offense in DENVER get WHORED in the Superbowl! Dick slapped in front of there groupies! TE wasn't saving them!
+TheAngryPelican The 49ers are good because they have been drafting in the top 10 from 1997 to 2009! Vernon Davis is a good player but TE isn't one of those crucial positions you build a team around.
Oh. You mean like how the 49ers should have never taken Vernon Davis sixth overall? He isn't a Graham or Gronk, but given the mediocre passers he has had throwing to him, 44 TDs in the last 5 years is pretty damn good production. Shame he isn't on a pass first offense like the other two.
If they can have as much of an impact as Gronkowski or Graham then they deserve to go top 20. To narrow to assume that wouldn't help the offense enough to push them into the playoffs.

+j0rdan1000 He can finish with either hand and he's 19 bruh, give him time he'll be a force in the paint hitting bank shots and with his footwork getting nice hooks; not to mention he'll be great at passing out of double teams.
Stephen A Smith is a retard for being mad that the Knicks drafted this guy.
Neither Jahlil Okafor or Karl Anthony Towns are going to be all stars in
their first seasons either. He wanted a win now rookie, but I don't think
that there are any. Besides Kristaps Porzingis looks very promising. He
seems like he really wants to be great as I've heard nothing but great
things about his work ethic. I really hope he proves everyone wrong.
Frreal dude was acting like justice Winslow was the perfect piece for playoffs. Knicks bigs r trash and porzingis has one of the highest potentials in the draft and he looks very skilled/ hardworking
anyone realise the bigger picture? he is only 19... 19.. his beyond the arc
shits are wet, he can shoot from mid very well, and has a great shot off
the glass touch. blocked 3 times the supposed future (you guys saw this).
19 guys, he already gained 11 pounds its an news update from yesterday. 11
pounds more and hitting the weights more. the zen master sees something.
this kid will be at the free throw line so much because of that beautiful
IQ, you all do not see this? lol cmon on... future of Madison square garden
boys. dwight and all them can post him up, who cares, he will just always
be called the foul. wow this was a beautiful pick. 19 yall
+Gregorio Pena It's funny how everyone tries to roast his weaknesses even though he's still just a teenager. All of his shortcomings can be easily improved. Everyone's gonna be jumping on this kids' bandwagon in a very short time.
I believe in this guy. He plays defense, he's taller than almost everyone
in the league, he has a jump shot and he's quick. On top of that I've read
that he has great work ethic, and has already put on 11 pounds of muscle
since playing in these summer league games. If he keeps working hard and
doesn't get injured the Knicks will have the next Dirk.
+Xx_420WankSc0pe_xX Nit picking much? The reason I mention it's great because he's taller than most players in the league because of his quickness and shooting ability. Most centers don't have those qualities.
+lasoogneypubes he may be taller than most players in the league, but so are all players over the height of 6"7.25(the average height for a player in the nba). That means the average small forward is taller than the average/most players in the league. At 7"1 he's barely taller than the average center.
I think he could be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL one day, if he
plays under bill obrien in houston I think he will return to form from his
freshman year, huge upside with this kid, BRING HIM TO HOUSTON
People keep talking about reuniting him with Obrien but I don't think that will work. When all that Sandusky stuff went down Hackenburg could have gone to any school and no one would have judged him for it. He stuck to his word and went to play for Obrien. Obrien jolted out of Penn State as soon as he could and let Hackenburg out to dry. Trust between QB and coach is extremely important. If your Hackenburg how could you trust a coach who promised you one thing and did another?
+Daniel Mendoza Yeah he very well could be and I'm not sure if I know enough to talk about this, but he just doesn't seem to have enough zip on the ball. He has the strength to make deep throws, but if you look at all the top qb's they have great zip on the ball. I just don't see that with him
+jeoh93 I think the only immediate starter locked to be NFL ready is Jared Goff, Hackenburg is considered a project for almost every team in the NFL, except for the Texans, and arguably even the Patriots (considering the even schematics these teams use on offense) any other team he would be considered a project (well even the patriots considering they won't plan on letting Tom Brady fly anytime soon). But Hackenberg could be a jem for the Texans, if you look back in his first year under Bill O'Brian, you would see why he was considered at one point a lock 1st overall Draft pick. He had all the necessary NFL tangibles, size, athleticism, talent to be an elite quarterback, obviously he has fallen off the radar after his last 2 college seasons, in which he has struggled under the newer head coach schemes, and also has had little support on that offense.Hackenberg could have a Derek Carr impact for the Texans, that would probably be best case scenario, or he could have a David Carr impact, and we (Texans fans) know what that was already, although wouldn't cost the Texans much to take a shot on Bill O'Brian's former pupil, in the second, or third round of the 2016 draft, considering they would have failed to get a 1st round grade quarterback in day one.
+jeoh93 I disagree... Normally there are 2 or 3 QBs per draft that have the physical ability to play QB in the NFL. This draft has 6 to 8 QBs who all have height, weight, and arm talent to play in NFL. It's a good draft to draft and develop a young QB. Not soo good if you need an immediate starter like the Texans...
+Daniel Mendoza Good point about the run game, I wouldn't be surprised if we cut ties with Foster. As much as I love the guy, he just can't stay healthy. Unless it would be easier to let him play out his contract and be done with him, not sure what the dead money would be looking like. We just need something to ignite the offense. I could see Hackenberg falling to us in the 2nd round if the QB needy teams address that issue in the 1st. That would be the best case scenario. I'm thinking if it's Hackenberg, who's familiar with O'Briens offensive scheme, he'll be starting next year. Anyone else would more than likely be shelved until 2017, unless we have ANOTHER season of QB issues & injuries. It makes sense because Hoyer is signed to a 2 year contract.
Ezekiel would instantly updgrade the running game and will give us insurance at runningback even if Foster goes out again. The Texans have no Offense as of now, other than Hopkins, and a smart team like the pats silenced the only threat the Texans had at Offense, a nice Ezekiel and Hackenberg/Cook/Wentz as First round pick and second round pick can make the offense look better than average next season, and actually give the defense a break, of course if we can't reach Elliot, then you can take care of DT as it will be a need, Vince Wilfork is a great player, but he is past his prime now so getting a potential blue chip player at that position can complete the Defensive front for years. I obviously don't want to see the Texans get yet another defense player in the first round, but I wouldn't mind fixing that DT for the future. If Paxton Lynch or Goff is on the board when the Texans are picking, I say we get him no matter what other player is on the board, but if not then I think we can get a qb in the second round, with great potential, Hackenberg is nowhere to be found in any mock drafts going in the 1st round, Cook is dissapearing, Wentz is emerging, but can all be potentially be found in the second round, infact Hackenberg is still graded 5-6 among quarterbacks, I even found one mock draft landing him in Houston in the third round...A blue chip player in the first round would be fantastic, (unless theres a cannot miss qb on the board) and a Second round qb would be nice, of course this is all my opinion.
+That one guy I don't think they were trying to get bridgewatee, if they were, they could have easily adjusted the vikings trade, and beat them out.I would love them to nab Paxton Lynch, or Goff, but I don't think the Texans will be able to draft that high. I guess a Carson Wentz could be a possibility, and Cook doesn't look like a 1st Round prospect anymore, he could slid passed the 1st round, like Hackenberg.
+That one guy Well Hackenberg in the first round seems like too far of a stretch now, I prefer Elliot in the first round, or a DT, then take Hackenberg in the second round.
+eliott970 This year? Hoyer is better than Stafford and Cutler. 1500+ yards, 13/3 TD-Int ratio, 60% completion percentage in just 6 games? That's pretty solid football from a guy who gets hate for no reason. I didn't follow him last year, but didn't he get hurt?
+That one guy If you think Hoyer is better than Cutler and Stafford you don't know football.. Hoyer is a very limited QB. He will soon crash and burn like he did in CLE.
+eliott970 Hoyer is playing better than both of them. Why would we downgrade? Next season will be the last year on Hoyers contract. We draft a QB in the upcoming draft, let him sit and watch next year and the year after that, let him loose.
+That one guy he has the potential to do amazing things with your coach. I'm an Alabama fan and even if Penn State as a team sucks, I am excited to watch what he can do. He's a game changer.
+fat jeff That's all we've ever wanted to be. With this kid as our QB I think we could challenge Indy for the AFC South. Hopefully they don't pass on him like they did with Carr & Bridgewater. Even Petty, Grayson & Hundley would've put us in a better situation than we're in now. Just gotta tough it out this year.
+Jacouri White I don't kno bro, he hasn't been putting up good numbers with their new coach & new scheme. Maybe he'll slip down to us like Jaelen Strong did. I don't expect the Texans to wait until the third round tho, I doubt he'll even drop that far. We just got super lucky with strong. Only time will tell.. If we end up with another mid-round pick, I think it's possible to pull off. So, for the first time in my life, I hope we don't make a deep playoff run..
+phin695 there's no doubt in my mind we'll take Hackenberg. It's just a matter of what we're willing to give up for him. Or unless we unexpectedly tank this coming season (which I highly doubt) and wind up with a top 5-8 pick. But I know O'B is ready to use his famous line again "he knows the system" lol. I'd be content with Cook, but I got my hopes up for Hackenberg. And he was putting up great numbers and making huge plays under O'Brien at Penn state. I'm excited. This is what O'Brien's plan was from the get go.
I am also really excited for next years (2016) NFL Draft...There are considered at least 4 QBs going into the draft with 1st round grades!! If Mallett fails, then the Texans must, absolutely MUST pick one of the four ( Preferably Hackenberg). The 2016 draft is the absolute PRIME oppritiunity for the Texans to find a franchise
+jeoh93 if we happen to land Hackenberg, then I'd put money on that. Bleacher report had an article about O'Brien being "unimpressed" with the way savage played when fitz broke his leg in Indy. O'Brien was probably expecting too much from a rookie, but either way it goes, he's calling the shots. We could get a 4, 5 or 6th rounder for him.
+That one guy I'm pretty sure teams will be interested in him he is a good pocket passer he looks alot like Brady I think we would need to trade up to get him I really hope so!
+diaz93tx Me too! I'm already pumped for next year's draft, hopefully we can trade up for him or maybe he'll fall right into our lap? Others may not be interested in him, but we've seen what he can do under O'Brien. In almost positive that's why we haven't drafted a QB. Think about it. Hoyer and Mallet are signed for 2 years. They play this year, we draft Hackenberg, let him sit for a year and start him in 2017.
