Affirmative action is dead so learn to compete or take your rightful place
at the bottom of society. The world does not owe everyone anything. With
freedom comes responsibility. It takes discipline, hard work, and
determination to become a success. It's time liberal blacks, especially
black women, stop thinking of the government as their husband and father.
Clarence Thomas is right in saying it is high time for SOME blacks stop
begging on their knees and start competing just like the foreign born Asian
kid down the street. It's all a matter of what your priorities are each
day. The Asian comes here not speaking English well and somehow become
successful. However, the liberal black who knows the language and customs
does not seize the same opportunity for success. Blacks are just as smart
as everyone else. Accordingly, there should not be multiple standards of
academic excellence but one standard consistently applied to all
applicants. My parent taught me to be academically superior to my peers.
Consequently, I was admitted to multiple universities based on merit not AA
based on white guilt.
Blacks that advocate for affirmative action unwittingly proclaim they are
intellectually inferior and unable to compete on a level playing field with
other races. I cannot in good conscience defend that position.
+Mesalonika That is complete malarkey. Im poor. I am putting myself through college making $900 a month without any tax payer money and no help whatsoever from the government. I wouldnt take it if I could get it as it is immoral. Bottom line is that the supporters of Affermative Action are racist hypocrites. If you cant afford college then to bad. Other people want to get in to you know. The only person who is responsible for taking care of you and paying for your college is yourself. If you cant get anything other then a minimum wage job then to bad, just skip on the ps4s, iphones, and new cars.
+Mesalonika I wish black women would stop thinking that the government is their father or husband. There is nothing wrong with going to junior college, proving yourself to the larger academic community, and then going to a great school like the University of Michigan. I did it and excelled without affirmative action. Why can't you follow the same path if necessary? In general, the poor plight of Black Americans is due to lack of character, discipline, and good decision-making. If you are smart enough and willing to compete, there will always be a opportunity for upward mobility. However, a victim and entitlement mentality will ensure your failure in a increasingly competitive workplace.
It is not truly intelectually inferiorioty or unable to compete. it is just that we minorities do not have the money to attend..and wihout econmic help and willingness from the Universities to provide or at least open the door to us..we cannot get in..Whites have economic superiority..whites can attend universities to obtain Bachelors , master and Phd's degree because they have the money and the time to attend..if my mother works for a McDonalds.and I am a minority i cannot get ..into anything in spite of my brains or my grades..and that is the ..subject..we minorities know we have the brains..that is not the question now nor ever!!
