Look into his interview at RT/RTAmerica. He's clearly a very smart man and understands the role of Russia in the world. He's playing it very strategically and smart - he doesn't approve nor disapprove of Snowden, but has admitted that Snowden hasn't released anything 'new' or 'traitorous'. He also seems to disapproving of Obama's latest actions towards Snowden. Look at Obama/Manning recording.. Obama already decided Manning deserves to be punished and locked up because of America's laws. ..ROFL.

I like Putin's mentality here. He isn't doubtlessly demonising the man, but he isn't denying his actions either. He is the ideal mediator, if Snowden tries to hide behind the original decision of Putin and continue releasing government secrets, then the jig's up and Snowden will get handed over. It's sort of like fucking up big time and someone saying "Come on, do the right thing from now on or we can deal with this following correct procedure." Thank christ Putin isn't mindlessly persuaded.

Actually Putin's position wasn't that, he was supportive of Snowden but in a more subtle way in order to keep the appearances, but made many references to how America basically sucks and Snowden proved it, you can watch Russia Today TV where is a 25 min interview with him on NSA and other American stuff and he just can't stop 'trolling' America, which btw I love in Putin. Even though I love libertarianism, I'd rather much have Putin president then Obama, and no, not because Putin is blonde.

I think Putin's use of the word "partners" was diplomatic lingo more then anything else, Russia recently has been acting as a foil to America many times including with Syria. I think Putin is concerned that if he harbors Snowden and Snowden keeps sending out information it will give the impression that Moscow is actively trying to hurt America and could lead to more Anti-Russian feelings in the US as well as possibly America disregarding Russia and launching a war on Syria and Iran.

I believe Snowden is an unkown patsy aired out in order to create nromalcy bias. It was a strategic leak, with Snowden believing he was acting on his own instead of being led. If people can adjust to this type of info with the current paradigm and with Snowden as a pawn to be pushed here and there and put into various scenarios to show futility and the CIA inability to grab him (which is complete horseshit),then they can adjust to anything. But lets hope not.

I look at Snowden as a hero. Not as some strong-crazy war hero, but a guy who was sick and tired of what the government was doing to us and wanted us to know. Hell, it's our right to know! And our government is trying to imprison him!?! Fuck that. I swear if they do, i hope someone stands up, i hope we can band together, and do what brazil and egypt citizens have the balls to do. Putin would hunt down a Russian Snowden and kill him in the worst possible way imaginable, poison his guts while cutting off his junk... something gross like that. So he is obviously not going to get out of his way to protect the American whistle blower. Snowden is a double agent. Do you people really think the CIA is having a hard time tracking his movements/ capturing him? There is a point when a person becomes so fed up and hopeless, that he either goes out guns a blazing, or quietly goes into his fox hole and lays down until the enemy wins. Well Snowden's actions have moved well beyond just hurting the NSA, he's hurting the entire nation. Where is Putin and his promise? If Snowden was a Russian citizen, he'd have been dispatched with a radioactive substance, like those Russian dissidents in Britain a few years back.
