I didn't care about the burger bit. If I ever go there (which I incredibly
highly doubt) I'll work it out for myself. ANYWAY! My surname is Findlay
and I'm not sure if it was the accent, but she was saying it wrong. It's
pronounced find-lAy. Not find-leey. It's obviously an a. She was saying the
find bit just fine, but where'd she get findleey? It's like 'why won't my
chicken LAY an egg?'. I know I sound like a bitch, I just find it annoying.
Also, Findlay is in Ohio. Lima is in Ohio and that's
I grew up in Findlay and I have nothing but fond memories of Wilson . It's
been 40 years since I had one, but I can still taste them when I close my
eyes. I can't speak for the service now days, but the lines of people were
no different then. I've eaten hamburgers from one end of this country to
the other and I've had some pretty good burgers, but I can honestly say
none better than Wilson's. I'm a mustard pickles and onions guy myself. The
last Wilson's burger I bought cost 25 cents.
Well, I haven't been to Wilson's in a while, but the last time I went
there, the only thing that was still good was their malts. They truly need
to fix their set-up as their ordering line may have worked in the 30s when
it was first created, but it doesn't work now some 70+ years later. Also,
their customer service is awful. Have they ever heard of being nice to
customers? I just hate how rude they are when really they should be the
ones improving their set-up.
I miss Wilson's. I worked there for several years and ate there as often as
I could before I moved. Even though some of the people that worked there
were rude, there also was very sweet people that worked their butts off and
some of those people still work there today. Love Wilson's. Never find a
burger to match up to Wilson's. Probably because they grind and patty their
meat fresh everyday.
@SamiFindYou Thank you for your interest in our area! As goofy as it may
sound, the city of Findlay actually IS pronounced "Find-lee" (kind of like
how the folks of Versailles, KY and other areas have their own ways of
pronouncing their name). Great last name, though. Be sure to look us up if
you end up coming into town. Maybe you'll find some long-lost relatives : )
They are OK a bit over rated IMO. The Service can be down right horrible.
The place is not very clean and the bathrooms are outside. My issue is if
the dinning area is not up to date and not clean how is the service area
and what nasty things are in the back of the Kitchen. If I want bad service
I can got to Taco Bell for less.
I would never give my money to anyone who would be rude to a customer. I
live a block away from Wilson's and have always wanted to try it but after
so many people told me that their staff are rude I'm completely turned off
of the idea. I'd rather have decent food and friendly service than great
food and terrible service.
I've been eating at Wilson's since I was old enough to eat solid food, you
can't get any better but the people who were working when I was there
weren't friendly, as for this video.. its silly but makes me miss Findlay
and Wilsons... enjoy those cheeseburgers for me.
@Chrisinohio40 It used to never happen! They used to be FANTASTIC, but I
don't eat there anymore because of that. My husband stopped long before me.
He'd ask if I got my grissle, and after I answered yes a couple of times,
that was it.
I love wilsons and just went there yesterday but for some reason when I eat
their burgers I always get pieces of grissle stuck in between my teeth.
Never happens anywhere else for some reason. They do taste good however.
Wilson's is NOT that good. I have lived here for 50 years & have been there
maybe 6 times. I knew a few people that worked there. If you knew what I
know, NO one would eat there. This was back in 1980 - 1982.
one thing you can always find a t wilsons? a mentally handicapped person!
see the person at the booth right after host walks in. while she's no
painter joe or crazy dougie, she definately fits the bill...
I grew up in findlay for 21 years its pronounced Fin-Lee.
