It's unfortunate that the sound quality for this interview was so poor that
I could not hear most of it. Christopher Darden and Marcia Clark, it seemed
to me, were the only ones bound by any ethics in the handling of this case
and I was heartbroken for them as much as the victims when the jury dropped
the ball on this case. Darden and Clark were such a dynamic and hard
working team they should have won over the jury. This truly was a case of
'if you're rich and famous enough you can get away with[double] murder!'. I
worried that Darden would lose faith in the law and stop practicing after
this case. I was also very disappointed in Ito who let the defence turn the
trial into a circus that favoured their side. Shame that that racist
Furhman was part of the equation!
agree, Chris Darden should be respected, even more so after this interview.I never imagined how much he would face from blacks, by prosecuting Simpson, the killer.

It's irritating the way hosts will be persistent in trying to draw out
controversial opinions from their guests. Trying to trap them with
difficult opinions.
+ElPocho DelMundo I'm not referring to when an interviewer legitimately and meaningfully challenges a guest to plumb their minds for the audience. I believe--although that comment is over a year old--I was referencing how Charlie Rose kept baiting Darden to say what he thinks Cochran or the other defense attorneys thought about O.J. Darden had to repeat that he could only speculate as to what was in their minds. Fairly obnoxious.
+Captain Crunched Interesting you say that. I thought that was the job of the interviewer, persist in trying to make sure the interviewee is not simply b.s. ing self and others.
OJ Simpson in court in preliminary hearing regarding evidence

The OJ Simpson murder is 20 years old and we look at the trial of the century's ongoing impact, plus we discuss the Las Vegas shooters and their radical militia ...
I don't know if Mike Cavalluzzi is gay or not but his comments about it's
not uncommon for gay men to have sex with 16 year old boys. WTF!
I don't what sort of retro 70's gay porn pool he's swimmin in but that is
just wrong. If might be truer to say that there are middle aged gay men who
are sometimes attracted to younger men 20-25, in the same way the str8 men
like 20-25 year old women.
Also, this idea that young men just wanted get laid and the predator sexual
experience isn't as damaging because they are more open to exploring their
sexuality is just wrong headed and sexist.
Perhaps Mr Cavalluzzi is working on being some sort of curmudgeon, in that
case he's doing an excellent job.
You sound unfamiliar with gay culture, I was raised by gay men, few of my cousins are gay males and I also took courses in university on queer theory (gay male studies) which taught me that cross generational romantic sexual relationships are part of the gay male culture thus Mike Cavalluzzi is right on. If you ever genuinely befriended gay males or lesbians and trans folks, you will have your entire heterosexuality deconstructed my dear. And heterosexual men does all the time, they love younger women just look at how many sugar daddy/sugar baby relationships and web sites exists promoting these liaisons.
Also, if anyone wants to see actual proof that companies truly do
cost/benefit analyses on human life vs. their bottom line, check out ford
pinto rear gas tank tragedies. The company discovered the gas tank was an
accident waiting to happen given the position of the tank (i.e. would catch
fire upon impact). The cost if reconfiguring the location, design, process,
mfg costs, and roll-out delays was more than the calculations they made of
paying families for the lost of a loved one. I saw the calculations in grad
school..God Bless America..not!!!
Was it the Pinto or another car that Ralph Nader brought to national attention? He did truly heroic work for American consumers because as an attorney he uncovered such things as companies doing these cost-benefit analyses and trying to stop their interests being the predominant one in Washington. I'd suggest 'Capitalism, a Love Story' by Michael Moore (another maligned "lefty") as another source regarding how companies protect their bottom line by insuring the lives of their employees while not providing safe working conditions and COLLECTING even under questionable circumstances. Leaving the families living in poverty with no savings, no 401k, etc.
(Deanne Vendetti on twitter) Thank you for another great crime time eppy! I
did an essay in college about the OJ Simpson persecution team's failures. A
reference I relied heavily on was the book by Vince Bugliosi "Outrage"
(former Manson prosecutor). Excellent read and one of his criticisms was
that the prosecution should've tried to rehabilitate Fuhrman vs. calling
him "one of the most evil persons on the planet" to the jury. Wrong move
that fueled the hatred the jurors felt toward what they viewed as a corrupt
racist at that point. It should've been brought to light that he had many
partners df different ethnicities personally and professionally (including
a former girlfriend).
I've seen your other comments here and respect your points and just wanted to ask if you are aware of Bugliosi's reputation as being less-than-ethical? I knew him from the Manson book and prosecution and then read the criticism of Bugliosi and was shocked by his record. Not only is his record as a prosecutor iffy, but his version of what happened in the Manson murders omits A LOT of evidence -- like that Manson personally knew the owners of the home where Tate was murdered. What didn't fit his highly sensational version of events was just omiited. I have not read the book you mentioned, bTW, I only saw a 3 hour doc with Bugliosi criticising the prosecution and in that it seemed like he was Monday morning quarter backing which just about any prosecutor could do. What was disturbing was his attitude toward the DNA evidence, the jury (he said of them that "they weren't exactly mental giants"), and his portraying the major issues of that case of just being a few minor issues, not some significant ones. I have a lot of respect for what you post here and wanted to share what I've learned about Bugliosi. It may not be the final word, just wanted to share that he may not necessarily be a great source
One of the zillion reasons I love Allison's interviews: She listens. Thank
you, Allison, for letting your guests finish their sentences/thoughts. I
never miss a show — you're a refreshing change from network/cable TV hosts
who never let a guest speak. You're awesome.
Great observation. I love that about her as well. It isn't like HLN's Nancy Grace (good Lord I get a headache thinking about her). I actually like Vinnie Politan, Ryan Smith, Mike Galanos and a few others there but Alison is my favorite
Christopher Hitchens on O.J. Simpson, Drinking, Smoking, Financial Fraud, Money & Politics (1995)
The O. J. Simpson murder case (officially called the People of the State of California vs. Orenthal James Simpson) was a criminal trial held in Los Angeles ...
I remember that liar Nixon. He ran on ending the war but he and Kissinger
expanded it to Laos and Cambodia then extended its duration to get himself
reelected. The whole bunch of them in the White House at the time should
have been sent to prison.
1. Simpson should not have gotten away with this, and I can't believe no
one has killed him yet! The blacks of this country complaining about cops
killing black thug males should remember this OJ incident where a black
male slaughtered a white man and woman and got away with it
