I really don't know what the presenter is on about. I own a Soul and the
1.6 lt engine is more than enough for it. I've driven cars with smaller
engines and I can tell for myself. I mean, TV presenters are used to
driving Porsche and Ferrari and of course they are going to find the 1.6 to
be inadequate. Nice show, but real life is a bit different. The only
downsize for the Soul is the small tank. That's it. I've had mine for a
year and I wouldn't change it. It didn't cost me a fortune either.
@Seattlecarnut Granted it is kinda funny looking, but as an owner of a new
2011 Soul, it works great fir me. Gets me to work and back, has a warranty,
its much much much easier to get the baby in and out, and its by FAR better
to me than owning a minivan! To top it off, full coverage is dirt cheap for
this thing, and i like it better than the cube or xb personally, but her-
thats personal opinion. I wish i had the income for a Crv or an Element, i
would take on of those over my soul.
@Scoltz1 Every automaker has recalls at some point..have you forgotten
Toyota with their woes lately? Honda and Nissan have had their shares as
well. Last time I checked, the Kia Soul in America is outselling the Honda
Fit, Nissan Cube, Honda Element, and Scion XB nearly 3 to 1. So that says
something about this so called "poor quality" Kia Soul huh? Honda is even
discontinuing their Honda Element this year because it is getting its butt
kick so badly by the Kia Soul in sales...lol
I don't give a rats arse whether a car looks cool or even if I look cool in
it, I buy it for how practical it is for my needs. Outside of it poor speed
handling, he didn't really touch on any of it features Bit of a wasted
review really....oh and by the way, STOP ARSING ABOUT WITH THE CAMERA WORK.
You're supposed to be showing us tha car and I can't see it if you're
focusing on the amount of atoms in the duco or giveing a half second
slidehow of its exterior
@MrRyanGC YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone who understands!!! lol. I'm not a huge
fan of my Soul (Red outside, red/black inside. ... to much red) but im a
huge fan of having to drive 80 miles a day (from home, school, then home
again) and not have to fill up on gas all the time. Plus it's comfy, cheap
to insure, and the sound system's not half bad :D when i get a job that
pays more than 9$/hour, then ill find something else :) rock the soul man,
im with ya
@Pablito1512 Oh get off that Honda reliability nonsense..Kia/Hyundai is
just as reliable as Honda now days. The real reason the Kia Soul is kicking
the element ass in sales is because it looks way better for one..The Honda
Element looks like shit compared to it. Honda is even discontinuing the
Element this year because the Kia Soul is killing it in sales nearly 10 to
1....lol.
I work at a KIA dealership and I will tell you this...it's the hottest
selling vehicle that KIA makes. We can not keep them on our lot, older
people love them for the ease of access, price point and funky styling. The
younger generation from 18-40 love them as well but I have a wide client
base that only wanted the Soul. It's a great vehicle and people love them.
Just bought one. Good deal for the money and was happy to get it home. Had
it a couple days and I like it far more than I did when I first bought it.
It's best to view it as a truck, not a car. It is large on the inside -
very weird. It's like an older CRV or RAV4 but funkier. If I bought it it
means I believe it will last 200000 miles. I'm a cheap bastard.
Jesus, he got from 0 to 60 in 11.5 seconds?? I drive the 2.0 liter, 147 hp,
4 speed-automatic w/ slap shift, and I can get from 0 to 60 in about 6
seconds. The only reason he gave it such a terrible review, is because he
was behind the wheel of a base model Kia Soul. Just don't buy the basic,
and the car should be just fine.
my mom is almost 50 and has a sore back at times and she still wants a
Soul+ 2.0. Automatic, maybe a sunroof and fog lights, AND in bright red or
bright green. This woman used to drive an Escort station wagon for 16
years... I would tint the front windows so she could trip people out at
church. XD
@tom11zz884.......Sorry mate is a matter of taste. Yes the Soul looks nicer
the the Element, but for me a car must perform in a good way and give great
value for the price you pay. I'm a Honda fan, all the cars I have oun are
Honda and Honda is by far better car company than Kia or Hyundai.
Even the $139/month version has ipod docking station and Sirus internet
radio. Sorry that's freaking crazy cool. Scion = hip/kid, whatever Kia Soul
= Smart choice, take home $139/mo lease, no need to worry about resale
value, but still, that is estimated at 59%, pretty high.
If that thing was available with the 140 hp 2 liter over there like it is
here in America, it wouldn't be as much rubbish... & I don't wanna hear
someone reply "well petrol is the equivalent of 8 bux over here"... it's
still a considerably small 4 pot, you whiny pussies :I
@Scoltz1 No, they don't catch fire. Working for Kia as a parts manager, i
see all the recalls and parts associated with it. The problem was with
wiring harnesses for the light up speakers. They overheat and stop working.
There's no reports of Souls catching fire anywhere
Usually one has a good idea what they're getting into when they buy a newer
vehicle, as far as how it will perform. We didn't expect our Soul to haul
ass, we just wanted something small to commute to work in, with a higher
safety rating. It's worked out great for us.
It uses the same platform as HEE UN DIE's? Why can't people learn how to
pronouce it correctly? As per Hyundai's own commercials (adverts) "Hyundai
say it like SUNDAY" . Now learn how to say it right! Jeez, it's not that
hard! lol
I have to say to your video. Bullshit. Every single day here in Puerto Rico
I see older people driving it. They look rather cool on them. (also cooler
when you ran up to a chick (young) with a mean style for phone exchange
lol)
@slklmk Obvious troll is obvious. I take it back, it may not be six
seconds, but I know for a fact that I can get there in less than 11, as
have watched the speedometer and counted how long it took to get to 60.
My wife and i took the soul for a test drive. I come from big power cars
with mpg never in mind. I was impressed how the soul handles. And with good
mpg. Its a good car to consider. Firm suspension. Peppy motor
@Pablito1512 dude i don't like hyuandi but the looks like the worst fucking
shit box out there. only the craziest freak out would drive that box full
of shit. when you open the back door shit flies out
Really Fifth Gear? Top Gear did the "old people cool test" several years
ago with the Honda Element. Anyway, the Soul is definitely cool because its
TV commercial had dancing hamsters in it!
Attn Korea we need more diesels in the united states!!!!!. Give us a diesel
and i can assure you they will still buy. STOP LETTING THE OIL COMPANYS
WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@MrRyanGC honest question here, would you really recommend one of these, im
thinking about that, i dont need a truck with a bumper up to my balls, know
what i mean:)
Lmfao! I don't even remember writing this. I think I was drunk or something
because the Kia Souls are ugly. And yea I would rather smash my hand in a
door haha.
@tom11zz884 .......But o corse it is, the element is much more expensive,
but anyway I stay with Honda better performance, built quality,
reliability!!!!!!!!
