FRS / GMRS radio SCAM - Not so distant - Survival Reality.wmv
+Robert justice I did know about it Going to be ordering a set of FRS/GMRS walkies on payday. Been wanting a nice set for a while but i knew i needed a license and was not sure about it. Finally did some research and got my FCC number and account set up tonight and i am going to get my GMRS licence on payday when I order my radios.
+Teletenna Tech You do not have to use the toy radios you can use commercial radios up to 50 watts and real 5 watt hand held also you may use a 50 watt repeater.
This guy does not understand radios. The 36 miles on that one is realistic
if 1 person is on a mountain or tall building. on open water the distance
is reduced a bit due to the curvature of the planet. everything else
depends on opsticales.
of course they don't. If they did they would not sell. They have the potential to reach those high ranges in the right conditions (1 on mountain, 1 one in valley) Im not saying even in that situation your gonna get a 36mile. But you are gonna get a lot closer to that then being on open water or anything. We all also know in an urban area damn near no 2 way radio is good over 1 mile. plus the ones you are showing are consumer grade radio's everyday radios you see at walmart or bass pro. Something like the Midland GXT5000 is a lot better and gonna get a lot better range and clarity also be more robust and durable. I believe it was also stated in this video, guys we all gotta do our research and pick the best radio for what you will be using it for.
+Countrystrong Andfree .... in order to get those 36 miles with a 2 watt UHF radio with a shortened whip you need to stand on mount everest, Chicago Sears Tower or Empire State Bldg.I got my GMRS advertising 8 miles..... today with same power they advertise 20-35 miles . manufacturers don´t tell the whole truth to customers .
+SurvivalReality Line of SIGHT.//www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/line%20of%20sightWebsters doesn't have a definition for "line of site." These guys redirect "line of site" to "line of sight": //www.thefreedictionary.com/Line+of+siteWay to make yourself look even worse while refusing to answer his question.
FRS frequencies will only put out 500mw, the maximum allowed. You need to
go to the GRMS channels 15 and above to be able to use the 5 watt your
handset is capable of. But yes, you won't get 50 miles but on GMRS 5 miles
is not impossible even in areas with lots of obstacles. 3 miles is easily
done at 5 watts. Clear path you could get 7 or more. It's FM 70cm. You need
a clear line of site for longer distances.
They factor in LOS and not much else. Everytime I run the numbers, 10 miles
is about as far as the signal between the fixed antennas (assuming 1/2
antennas and commercial grade receivers) seems to want to go (also have to
have LOS). Over water using LRP, I may see their numbers…over land, no.
Also not accounting for terrain nor QRM…
Hi, Jacob.
What are all the features on the new setup that use data connectivity on
your phone? Does it ever become any kind of inconvenience that you have to
use your dataphone to run certain apps or features?
+postbreak Sorry, Ryan! Saw jacobzking on the username on the link and thought Jacob was your name. Thanks for the reply! Have you had experience with the aha? How much different is entune from it, and would you say entune is better?
