Possibly, princess DI ? When Mercedes Benz first bought out computer assist braking they had to have a big but quiet recall ,the system worked on a beam being projected forward then reading the distance then computing the amount of force needed to stop the car ,but their system was defective because cars were putting the brakes on to no reason and causing accident'sThe C.A.N system was picking up signals that gated the computer to ram the brakes on.All cars now have integrated comms systems to varing degrees, your cars computers can be remotely hacked to read GPS records, email history and a lot more , drive a pre computer car and stay safer !
+Ben Benjamin most likely. there probably was some explosive near the tank too. it's the only mercedes in history to have it's tank explode like that. mercedes was refused any access to study the car
The military industrial complex has been using remotely controlled planes
since at least the 1970s (and probably before - see "Operation
Northwoods"). NASA remotely controls land roving vehicles on Mars. "Boston
Brakes" has been used to murder people for decades. Drones are remote
controlled WMDs. As I travel around the US, 99% of the people I discuss
this with think this is all fiction, impossible - especially to hack into a
car's systems. RIP Michael Hastings & princess Diana.
Oh of course they can be hacked. Just wait until the Android phone
integration is implemented into autos this year. Those phones are so full
of viruses that we'll be seeing braking systems disengaged by them and all
sorts of fun. 800 million infected phones and growing - just a matter of
time. I won't touch them for anything.
Stop the Banksters Fraud. Rothchild's Warburgs Rockerfeller's. All are
Owners of the Private Federal Reserve and behind most all 3 letter Govt
Agencies. The Fraud Racketeering Mafia STARTS HERE....with these Banksters
When they create money out of nothing than put the debt on us they can buy
ANYTHING THEY WANT and Enslave US.
I have a 1995 Chevrolet S10 base model (only thing power in that sucker is
power steering) that came with an ECU in it (albeit the crude grandfather
to most current ECU's), most cars on the road anymore have some form of ECU
in them, that is how the garage runs diagnostics on your check engine light
among other things.
well it could have been a combination...but hastings "crash" there was no
doubt that it was explosives involved..in order to eject the engine and
transmission and set the car fully ablaze in milliseconds ..Dianas crash on
the other hand. is VERY combareble with this
I think most electricals can be hacked. So many technological advances that
a lot of people do not know about. I think planes and trains can be hacked
too.....remote control.
Story is BS. What they didn't tell you was they physically altered the car
to be able to do this. This will be used to hand more power over to the
government perhaps allowing them to install override on all cars as seen in
the movie majority report.
+HARRY HALME You are talking about and open computer network. Some of the systems they claimed they controlled were not connected to this system and are independent. You can confirm this by looking up the wiring diagram of the Jeep. The break system has an override so that the instant you press the break it shuts down computer controlled. all cars are make with this. This is hardware and not a software control mechanism so that it can not be "hacked". They actually physically altered the car to be able to do this. The commercial airline hack story is also a BS story and Chris was working closely with the FBI. I even admits he didn't hack the aircraft but states "I could have". Saying that he entered a climb command for the engines (his words) just shows how little they know about aircraft and flight control. In all the articles and interviews with him the keep using "claim" to cover themselves. There are a lot of fear lately about the power grid being hacked and yet is can be hacked but I have to ask you a very logical question. Why is the power infrastructure connected to the open internet? There is no need for this. There are other ways of remote monitoring through closed system. We know the government have created back doors into a lot of system so we should assume they are doing it across the board. I'm not sure you could call them security flaws because they are intentional. a flaw by definition is an error or "mistake". They already have the override switch for the internet (confirmed on C-Span in congress) which was something that had to been in place for a very long time. The government overriding of radio and television has been in place for over 30 years. No they have these systems set up on all means of communications. All this is easy to research and confirm. The government has demonstrated again and again that they lie and deceive the people.
+optimumperformance What is your take on that most bank management systems, road-, rail-, air traffic management systems, commercial airplanes, satellite communication systems, close proximity defense systems on airplane carriers and more are remotely hackable. You believe that the government planned this security flaws, to be able to install override systems into these in the future ?!?
The Friday 7/25/15 news said that jeep has already recalled over a million
Jeeps because of the video. What was the name of that investigative
journalist who was recently killed in his car when it went wildly out of
control?
From GPS systems to automated parking, modern cars sport increasingly sophisticated technology. Yet despite these bells and whistles, you're still the one ...
The warning that anyone driving a car with an ECU (late-80s on?) could be
remotely hacked made me wonder... wouldn't said vehicle need a remote
connection? At least bluetooth for a VERY short-range connection, if not
wi-fi for a bit more? People have remarked on OnStar's vulnerability
(cellular I think), which makes sense--but how many active OnStar (et al)
vehicles are out there (is it still a thing)? If you don't have wireless
connectivity to the ECU etc it seems they'd need to plant and connect a
device directly IN the car... which is doable, of course, but leaves
physical *evidence*. The guys in the demonstration footage had obviously
torn open the dash and connected their gear to make the hack work.
SO--I don't think that simply having an ECU really makes one vulnerable.
*Unless* the culprits have some time, discreet access to the vehicle's
innards, and compatible hardware (and disguises)! AND that leaving evidence
is unimportant.
Perhaps, if foul-play IS a concern, don't get OnStar (or similar tech) and
keep wireless connectivity limited to your sound system (but the rascals
could muck up your tunes, argh!)

These Guys Can Hack An E-Skateboard
A pair of security researchers can hack into some electric skateboard's Bluetooth controllers and pull the boards out from under a rider's feet. Still haven't ...
They cost over $1000, you would hack it to steal it and sell it!If you didn't understand that for some reason, here's a step by step tutorial on how to earn money fast.Step 1: Hack SkateboardStep 2: Drive it somewhere where the owner can't find it.Step 3: Go onto Ebay and sell it.Step 4: Profit.
In reality, these things don't stay in one spot for long so it'd pretty
difficult to make a connection. If you really wanted to fuck with someone
on one of these that badly it would be much easier just to punch them...
+MrCube17But you could trip over a wire, same reason those damn cups have "CAUTION! HOT!" written on them. People are inherently, well, uh, people.. They could simply just put an encryption on it, I don't know enough about protocols for Bluetooth to say which would be best, or worst, but none is certainly not acceptable. Sure that's fine for a remote control car that no one rides on (Or could without a device to change ones size), but for a device which can be used as a mode of transportation (Up to 20 some miles an hour at that) an encryption is really pretty damn important. I try to be realistic about these things, and so should companies building them. As I said, people will be people, some have good intentions, some only the worst. That is human nature in a nutshell. Besides, I for one don't want to find out if my insurance covers someone on a hijacked electronic skateboard (There are some skaters around here, they're bad enough.), how about you? I know for a fact by skimming my insurance policy that war, declared or undeclared, or a nuclear detonation, intentional or otherwise is not covered by Nationwide insurance... They also don't cover insurrections, rebellions, and several other amusing things that may never happen, and the company may not survive. Hey, you want a laugh better than the youtube comments? Read your car insurance policy if you have one. Skim over for words like "Thermonuclear detonation", it's pretty amusing.
+Dead Reckon You seem to know what you're talking about :p Good point about carrying out stealth assassinations though, had not thought of that lol They should just wire the controller to the skateboard...a far more sensible idea.
+MrCube17 If you reeeeally want to fuck with someone, as with the video about Chrysler's uConnect, you will have patience. Think about it, if no one knew this was a problem, and someone wanted another person dead, all you'd have to do is follow them around while they play on the thing. In a crowded city no one would notice, and no one would notice much if someone on a skateboard got flattened by a bus. it's very dangerous to have technological exploits like this, yeah it sounds like something out of a movie, but some of the best movie murder scenarios are unfortunately based on something real. Some people are content with just simply fighting with someone, other people are more subtle. The more common an exploitable technology becomes, the more likely it will be exploited.
