Work day 12 of the restoration on the Volvo S70 T5. I am almost done. Work was stopped due to a high wind dirt storm. Crazy weather.

LOL, yes, they got me on that one. I already had $150 worth of parts so I wasn't about to spring for $320 for the kit when I only needed $170 worth of the parts.

Vida says torque specs for the cam cover is 17 lb.ft

Cool, that sounds more like it. I did torque them to about 10 ft lbs.

Sorry I meant vida torque spec is 17 nM, my mistake. That translates to roughly 12-13 lb ft. I have never stripped out the bolts and I have done 6-7 engines.

Those dust storms are also called a "haboob" if it's of a certain type. Get used to the dust storms there in the desert southwest. Also, late June through September will bring the monsoons, which basically means a lot more rain and thunderstorms on a daily basis.

I got a kit from IPD and replaced it. Since I posted it I have taken it back apart and re-routed the big hose to the intake nipple and it is perfect now.

Yes it was smoking from there as well just forgot to get it on film
