Got the '98 5-door one, like the one in the vid, car looks a bit dull but
the driving is pretty compfy. Good seats and nice suspention :) Fuel
consumption is quite ok (Does +/- 12,5/13 km a litre, yup I`m from europe)
and I have this car since a year now, bought it 2nd handed with 128500km on
the clock, now driven it to 142000km. Car went to the yearly check and
there was nothing wrong with it! Only the break fluid and 2 tires on the
front wheels, but thats normal. Hope I dont crash in it tho:P
@ScienceOfThePS3 I know what you mean. I didn't have a lot of money when my
last car broke down, so I bought a used 98 corolla with 134,000 miles on
it. When I talked to my (Ford) family about my new purchase, they thought
it was the worst decision ever, buying a car with over 100,000 miles on it
("because they have ALL KINDS of issues"). As it turns out, the thing has
given me 0 problems, while they are in and out of the mechanic, and their
cars are newer and have far fewer miles.
I vote the Corolla 98 best reliable car ever, to my experience. Mine is 12
winters old, 325 000 kms. It never broke, had a problem or didn't start, it
just never let me down. I swore 5 years ago that i'll kill this car before
I get a new one... But it doesn't want to die. I just keep the damn car as
a testimony of what I promised, it diserves it tenfold

I have the 1999 hatchback, it's a very reliable car, have had 1 very small
problem with it, a fuse blew... never the less, I LOVE the car, it looks
safe when in a crash, great and fun to drive, so I'll be having it till it
dropps dead!
Incorrect, there was a G6 version in Europe (with 6-speed tranny, lowered
and stiffend suspension; basically the top version with the best
equippment), both with 1.3 4EFE and 1.6 4AFE engines.
all i can tell is that i had one like this but a hatchback and had a pretty
hard crash at 130km/h.... the car went to the scrapyard but i.... not even
a scratch!
