True ^ the new ones are too heavy and their get off the line isnt as good
as the old one which I do not understand. It is rumored that after the 2014
facelift, a re-tuned srt8 will be an option that will bump it to 500 horses
and around 480 lb tq. That would make it almost identical, possibly a tenth
of a second faster than the old ones. I just cant justify spending mid 60's
when you could spend the same on a gt500.
Notice how they say they are one mile above sea level in each video. If you
ever watched Top Gear's South America challenge or taken the time to
research, the higher up you go, there is less oxygen. So if there is less
oxygen, the engine is going to lose some of it's power. Point is that
doesn't matter how good you are, if you were in the same conditions, you'll
probably be the same around romanmicagearguy.
because you can now tow with this- off road would not be wise as body frame
would rub up against everything and crack. It handles better (driving and
suspension) cost less than at RR. It now has a snow option that will give
better performance in weather conditions. with the S8 your buying the
performance package not off roading package. If thats the case, opt for the
overlander or the reg trail rated JGC
For fucks sake, they ridicule all these small hatches unfairly, at least
use a goddamn manual transmission. I got a '07 Yaris and it tires me every
time they make fun of it's "10sec +" 0-60 times, of course on a goddamn
automatic. My Yaris did 0-60 in 8.2 and 16.7 the 1/4 STOCK!! Those are
numbers for most 140-150hp cars out there, so I say they are pretty good
numbers for a mere 1.5L 106hp car.
Because these guys are using a garbage iphone app. Some of the apps are
dead on, others are way off. I have an '07 SRT8 and I'm with you in the mid
4's. Their new model is actually going much faster than 6.1 seconds, they
just don't really know what they're doing. Annoying. And for the record,
seems a lot of our WK1 SRT8's are actually quicker than the WK2 models. :)
This Grand Cherokee is one masterpiece from Chrysler. Actually, the Jeep
brand is so iconic. You know, here in Moldova, also in Ukraine and Russia
people are just used to call every single SUV a Jeep. Haha, they call it
like this even if it's actually Toyota or BMW or... whatever! LOL.
The jeep is 50,000 dollars more, gets a third the gas mileage, will break
down twice as fast, has 4 times the horsepower, and still isn't even twice
as fast as the yaris. Lulz. At sea level the yaris would hit it in 9.6
seconds btw and the jeep in maybe 5.something
my '06 did the 0 to 60 in 4.4, so how do you justify a car that's now 12
grand more expensive than the previous model??? and 488lbs heavier overall,
64, grand for a fully equipped '12 SRT, I paid 43 for mine and it's faster
than this new model, WTF???????
My rental is a yaris, I HATE econo boxs....I don't like the look of it, but
I actualy like driving it, it has good handling.....Its not as slow as it
looks (not fast either) but quick enough to not piss you off......I hate so
say it but its a good car
Oh I know why but I was just stating that they keep getting heavier as each
new generation comes about. I think the new ones weigh somewhere around
5,000lbs. without a driver in them. Alot of safety equipment is partially
to blame.
These new SRT8's are HEAVY. 5,000lbs. plus with a driver. My 06 4.7 V8 Jeep
G.C. weighs without me in it at 4,600lbs. My 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0
liter weighed 4,000lbs. without me in it. Each generation they get alot
heavier.
hold on here... my 07 does 0-60 in the 4s.... what the hell did they do to
these things!?! They cast 20k more, they don't look as good, and they are
slower... 2010 will probably be the newest model of GC SRT-8 I'll ever own.
you mean 14.8 sec fool. The yaris would need about 200 more horsepower for
that little shit box to get to 60 in 4.8 Do yourself a favor and get off
the crack rock and maybe you could buy a nice car.
Does the SRT-8 have any of the HUGE offroad capabilities of the regular
Grand Cherokee? If not, what's the point of it being a Grand Cherokee? It's
like the Range Rover Sport all over again.
Nathan is such a maniac and Roman is rather composed.....I think you guys
are as mashed up as the cars in the mashup videos and I hope you never
change! LOL!! I love watching your videos!
You are forgetting that they are a mile up. When cars are tested it is
usually at sea level. Up that high, naturally aspirated engines are unable
to breath as much and produce less power.
Why did the individual in the Jeep need a co-driver? Without a doubt the
most inaccurate test i've seen. I can't believe you added so many negative
variables for such a simple test.
Of course a FX50S can beat a Mazda 2! Let alone the Jeep SRT8 vs a Yaris.
Do a real test. Compare this Jeep to a ML63 AMG. And compare the FX50S to a
BMW X5 4.4. Do real comparos
its cause theyr a mile above sea level. The air is a lot thicker up there
so the engines dont run aswel hence all performance tests of these guys are
a lot slower than normal.
Good Video Roman & Nathan, although to me the Yaris is just a penalty box,
people buy it because of the name (Toyota)... sad, cause the new Chevrolet
Sonic is much better.
Do you understand the effect that high altitude has on an engine? Trust me,
your '07 SRT8 that does mid-4s isn't going to do anywhere near that at a
mile above sea level.
Talking Cars with Consumer Reports #24: Jeep Cherokee and Mazda3 | Consumer Reports
Long-awaited test results are finally in for the Jeep Cherokee and Mazda3. While the Cherokee is ultimately disappointing, labeled as "not done yet," the ...
I did my due diligence which included a careful CR review of the 2015 car
issue plus this episode and just bought a Mazda 3 i Touring sedan. Test
drive even of the i Sport nailed it. Had my Ford Focus for many years and
was very happy with reliability, but what I read the Mazda 3 just blew the
2015 Focus away. I will check back in 10 years and see what I think, but I
am happy today with my purchase. Thanks guys & CR!
+stvnburg The sport was adequate, but I decided I wanted the backup camera, blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. Also came with alloy wheels and better upholstery with iTouring. I've been getting great gas mileage and am very happy with handling and ride as well.
Last year my wife and I drove our 2012 Outback (2.5i Limited, same gen as
2010) from Northern VA to NH for vacation and my 90 year old grandmother
came back with us, we dropped her off at home in NJ.
She loved riding in the Outback.
Outback wins.

Biggest pile of bullshit that I have ever heard. How about you just accept
the idea of Hondas being Hondas, Subarus being Subarus, etc., instead of
wishing for all cars to be melded-together, indistinguishable frankenstiens
with jumbles of parts from every manufacturer on the planet.
Why Mazda 3 is not a great car, cuz a car is a machine that should carry 4
adults in comfort and in that aspect Mazda can carry just 2 adults and 2
children, what If 4 adults should make a trip of over 500 miles in a Mazda?
other thing is Mazda is fun to drive at the expense of Cabin
insulation, ride quality, and less stiffer body, The Mazda seems tout and
tough but when I enter a Focus or a VW Golf they both feel much more solid
than slightly tin can feeling Mazda even though Ford and VW are much older
cars
About Mazdas super power, its not the Mazdas power that excites its the
lack of weight that pushes the car just like hyundai which has paper thin
car with high HP so its damn fast but is it SOLID, NO
The Focus with 2.0 160 HP and MANUAL TRANSMISSION is damn good and blows
mazdas 2.0 away , Oh sorry I stay in Asia and we get the Focus with 170 HP
and its a rocket considering its BORING class
About the AT yes Mazdas traditional AT is the best AT I have ever been, its
superb and still the best AT transmission agree with that
About ride quality, maybe American roads are smooth but here in Asia Mazda
is very bad in dealing with rough roads, its super stiff and even a Ford
Focus and VW Golf is more comfy than a Mazda
About the interior Y is that Mazda is trying to copy BMW, fuk Germans they
are good and If Mazda s got balls make an interior thats of their own, I
appreciate Ford and VW and all other for atleast makin a design of their
own rather than copying,
I think Consumer reports has already tested the VW Golf 2015 trust me guys
that car didnt win world car of the year 2013 as a mistake, it is totally
world class, the 1.8 TSI is damn quick and even in horrible traffic here in
Asia unlike in US it gave a descent 30 mpg overall, which might equate to
32 mpg overall in USA which is great considering the eagerness of that 1.8
and the fastest gearbox in the world and Audi rivaling cabin
quietness, refinement, traction,Power, handling,The 2015 Golf just eats Mazda
3 for breakfast, also count on 2015 Ford Focus which will be revealed on
Geneva Motor show March 2014, Thats got rid of confusing interior controls
added much more luxurious interiors, new turbo engines mated with dual
clutch AT boxes and a whole lot more,Mazda is over in a few months
time, when the giant VW and Ford lands
I belive Golf is the Rolls Royce of hatch backs, Ford is the BMW and Mazda is Mazda, its a great car but I still wont pick it over a Golf, maybe a Focus
If you want to carry 4 adults on a 500 mile trip you don't buy a sedan or a hatchback. Also, Mazda got 5 stars at the european crash-test rating, just like golf and ford. Reliability of the engines is another point. noise isolation is not the best, but not horrible. Golf and Focus are great cars as well, but what really speaks for the mazda is the low insurance rating and the bang for the bucket price. golfs with similiar extras cost much more. Fords have a similiar price range here in germany as mazdas. the interior is nice and tidy, but i agree, that the golf is more comfy and feels better inside. I like the design of all 3, but i think the mazda 3 has the best, followed by the 2015 focus and the golf
listening to these guys talk just makes my blood boil. What are these guys
Critics? They know how to be spoiled. That's what they sound like. They
like to hear themselves talk and come across as dick heads.
You are misumderstamdimg the point of this channel for them. Consumer reports is a magazine subscription business' The content in youtube is designed to get you interested and subscribe. This is different then other yutube reviewers who are only on youtube. Before the talk shows they didn't have any information here at all.
SkyActive is great and all, but i can't help wonder it being so high tech,
if it will be reliable. it is sort of the same as German cars being too
over engineered.
the DRL issue, just make all the cars' DRL on all the time, like in Canada?
lol
Move video! It looks good crawling over a Ford! HA you and ur son will have
countless hours of fun with those trucks.....and with sky landers! Thanks
bro!
1952 Willys Jeep vs. 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser - Generation Gap: 4x4s
Cast your vote here: //www.hagerty.com/Articles-Videos/Articles/2014/07/28/Generation-Gap-4X4-1 In the latest episode of Generation Gap, Matt and Davin ...
Ask the average person on the street, what each vehicle is? Most would say:
2 Jeeps. No off road vehicle defines the off road category as much as the
Jeep. Even the first Land Rovers were built on post WWII Jeep Willys
chassis. The Toyota is clearly a copy cat wannabe Jeep. Enough said!
+Aiden MacDonald Except the Toyota did something Jeep didn't do AS WELL. Emphasizing the as well. Jeeps are cool and there's a reason they're so popular. But Toyota's have the class leading reliability and showed the world that 4WD's can be reasonably civilized
U mean ford/Daimler Benz/general motors defender land rover a part from this and a part from that in tha beginning they used General Motors gasoline engine and or Daimler Benz Diesel engine then bought buy ford land rover never been it own anything Itz alway has and always be a company using another automakers power train
The factors they use are extremely subjective. Without a doubt, around the
world the Land Cruiser is regarded more highly as the most capable 4x4.
Ever.
In terms of off road capability, anything, from Toyota, Nissan, Land Rover, Jeep, etc, if it has low range and solid axles front and rear, it's a contender. But Toyota had the reliability and parts avaliability. Nissan had the extremely strong drivetrain (axles and gearboxes), Land Rover have always had some of the best, strongest and most organised chassis around (even if they leaked oil too much), and Jeeps are very easlity the best to modify, especially for rock crawling. The best thing that all manufacturers have been good at up until the mum's SUV for the suburbs craze hit is simplicity. They're all so easy to fix, modify, and work on, as well as showing the world that 4WD's can be reasonably reliable and comfortable
Elsewhere, even though I'm a Land Cruiser guy, Land Rover Defenders seem to be the weapon of choice for many 4x4 enthusiasts.Maybe it comes down to what is cheap and plentiful? In Australia Jeep is gaining popularity, Land Rover was King years ago and 'dropped the ball' at which point Toyota became popular.Nissan is also highly regarded, especially the old 4.2 turbo diesel but that's now out of production.
+kabodkhwaamkhid Well he cracked me up.Agree on the subjective aspect. Frankly, considering Toyota had time on it's side to sort stuff out and could 'borrow' ideas from Land Rover, etc, I was surprised that they measured up so closely in my mind.
+john jones haha you mean the lowest bidder? True the military does set some standards for durability in the field, but you can go way beyond those with aftermarket and custom parts. They cant afford to give everyone the best out there, but private market can and will buy the best.
