Hee! That was fun. Annie get your gun STILL puts a smile on my face
everytime I see it. Too bad, the scene at the end in the church was not
included. I love Matthew, Ioan and Rachel there. Everytime I watch it , I
end up singing that tune for DAYS. :) Thanks for posting!
ahhh something Matthew did before Brothers and Sisters and that is Rachel
...Ioan is a bud of his that he hangs out with who is also Welsh..were
Matthew and Ioan playing gay characters in this movie ??
The school scenes were filmed at my old school! Rachel Griffiths spent
about 6 weeks living in the Garw valley, where it was mostly filmed, to
learn the accent!
Fuckin' deluxe! Love this movie, thanks for posting it!

What's with this need to let people know you heard of Rodriguez before SFS
(as if this somehow makes you more genuine)? From what I understand he was
bigger than Elvis in South Africa, and went multi-platinum there. It is
really nothing special. Any Americans heard of him before this? It's like
Nirvana fans who say they heard of them before they were a "fad" (which
speaks volumes about how they look at music)... SFS is an amazing film that
gave an incredible artist the recognition he deserved... people need to
lose this vain elitism. This man had his dream suspended for 30 something
years because of a totally shitty record label owner. I'm glad I heard of
him from that movie!
i rarely comment on videos or what anyone says, but when i heard Cold Fact
,i am so impressed with the quality of the songs that underneath the
production. now i can hear and see why the album didn't do anything.if the
producer would have just captured the live magic,it could have been
different for Sixto. the mish mash of sound effects and cheesy use of
horns,i think put people off. but you can hear what is under there, and it
is something truly unique and deep,he has such pure honesty.
A voice as clear as Neil Diamond, with words as poignant as Bob Dylan. I
would think that most music fans just don't realize for every musician that
makles it as a major artist, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of Sixto
Rodriguez's out there on the fringes, trying to get in. They toil away in
obscure clubs in city after city. Few ever get their demo tapes listened to
by someone who matters in the industry. Fewer still ever even get the
opportunity to cut an album with a label that will bring them any measure
of recognition.
The music industry thrives on change, always looking for the next "new"
sound. Very few artists that make it last even five years. Does anyone
believe an act like The Beatles would have lasted 8 to 10 years if they had
stuck with "Love Me Do"s and "Please Please Me"s their entire career? No.
Each successive Beatles LP featured a venture into new territory that no
one else had gone into yet.
+Gordon Steadman Still Waiting for Porcupine Tree/Steven Wilson to get the recognition they deserve. Sometimes I really gets to me that when I listen to the radio there is literally nothing new that I like, yet there really is so much great music out there!
