37paull1: Thanks, and it's very cool that you jam with your son! My daughter is just starting out on guitar, but she's been taking piano lessons and shows some musical aptitude. I'm looking forward to when she gets to the point (on whichever instrument she chooses) that we can play together.

Thanks! She's been longingly looking at the electric guitars when we go to the music store. She has an acoustic that she received for Christmas, which she loves, and has been learning the open position chords. Proud Papa here!

You should have smelt a rat when you saw the maple neck! Shell Pink wasn't introduced until 1960, the year after the change to rosewood necks. I'm sure Fender wouldn't do a 50's Strat in Shell Pink for this reason. Also the body shape is slightly off; the upper horn sticks out too much, it should hook round a bit more.

scarily enough it speaks and thwacks, it stays in tune and doesn't have a working truss rod. But when I hooked it up my Korg pandora..and listened in the headphones...I was like wow...I've had offers for her for more than I paid...the luthier laughed but was surprised when he played her... the last good thing..it's so light...it feels like a toy but bites like a champion pit bull...

+nexusvision ... and at the end of the day all that matters is you love the guitar! I had a Shell Pink 50's Strat myself recently - bought a MIM CS 50's in Fiesta Red, and a 60's in Shell Pink, then swapped the bodies and scratchplates round! The resulting FR 60's I kept, but continuing poverty meant the pink one had to go ... shame.

Don't get me wrong...I loved the guitar after I played it!  It was worth the 70 bucks, I knew it was  fake by the weight, and look and serials on the back of the neck etc...but when I played it..I was like..I can use this...!

how would you set it up if you had a noise gate and tuner going to tour amp n guitar still. confused on how to hook one up and looking to buy one

+Brett Evan There are actually a few different ways you could run that set up, depending on your rig and what you are looking to do. Probably the easiest way is to just go out from the receiver of the G50, into your pedals, then from your pedals into your amp. If your amp has an effects loop, that another option, but one which depends on what kind of hum you are trying to get rid of via the noise gate.
