Rode make awesome mics! but I expect this to be Rodes best selling product
ever, I love the NT4 design and it's ashame that Apple decided to go
lightning and move away from 30PI connectors because Rode must of invested
millions into R&D into this awesome X/Y mic, I'm sure there will be a
lightning version available sometime soon in the meantime I'll definitely
be buying the 30PIN for my older 4S.
The whole thing is GREAT but just the singel fact that it has the old
iPhone connector makes it almost worthless for iphone 5 users which has the
new connector. I know there are adapters but I wouldnt wanna use one of
those for this microphone, beacuse it gets really instable and it can fall
of much easier.
Hi Wupper, the iXY will be priced around $199 in the US. A lightning
version is planned but we are unable to offer any release date at this
stage. Neither can I confirm the operation on the iPod Touch 5G. If you

This would be amazing! But I think, the Problem would be with the Preamps.
Good preamps are very expensive. Even the preamps of successful field
recorders like the Zoom H4N are terribly noisy and useless if you want to
record an external Dynamic Mic.
Close miking a band, for example getting a feed from the mixing desk, will
always give a better result. However if you don't have access to the desk
the iXY will give high quality results in an incredibly portable package.
Interested in purchasing this, and I was curious what the name of the
accessory allowing you to mount your iphone on top of the camera at 0:41
was. That would help a lot with my future video recordings.
Entire video with an audio overlay?? ... way to show off its sound
quality!! lol Maybe make a video with a working representation of the
actual mic in use. That would be swell.
There's a free version, 'RØDE Rec LE' which still offers 24/96 recording
with iXY. It doesn't have all the editing, EQ or output functionality of
the full app however.
