I hope it sealed well, thats nice and cheap :-D
The old ring just looked burnt/melted, as if the engine got way too hot,
sometime in its life.
Its odd to see an O ring melt, normally they just become hard and brittle.
Did you jump from night time to the next day?, it looked brighter.

How to Take Heater Hoses Off Like a BOSS !!!
Different ways to take hard to reach heater hoses off any car !!! Search for my youtube channel : KLOWNY1969 and subscribe!! Its free to subscribe and you will ...
My only advice is... some manufacturer's heater core end tanks are VERY
fragile. The BEST method IS the LAST method if you don't know how hard you
can pull on it before breaking the heater core. It's best to just be on the
safe side and ALWAYS CUT them off and replace them every time you have to
take either end loose for any reason. Hoses don't last forever, and these
love to rot. Very cheap insurance if you plan for it. You covered it all
Klowny. Great video! I'm giving you a big (ツ) b
Its ok if you dont understand how cars work..thats what im here for :)
first thing is..i said to put some grease on the nipples..i didnt say lube
it up like tbe way you do your greased pigs..second, ive been doing this
for over 30 years and never once have i seen a rubber hose failure from the
grease..also if you look at my tool its not a pipe wrench..it has a blue
handle.they are channel locks..u should google image "pipe wrench" to
understand what im talking about
It is ok to use die electric grease, like you use for the end of a spark
plug. And also you should take this grease and put it on the rubber that
seals up your doors, and after you do that put it on your car window track
and it will go up and down nice and smooth (not for bedroom use)..
im so happy that some people are criticizing this video. Different peopled
opinion actually helped me understand more about the fragility of the
heater core and the effects of grease on rubber! Also i found out you can
use your barehands to take off thr clamps!
Just pull it off while your doing I it! Grease the hose when you put the
new one on... wtf... grease and rubber dont mix... grease eats rubber! And
fyi you dont need a pipe wrench to get a hose clamp off!
Lol thanks man..i appreicate the advice..ive been rolling around under a
2001 ford escape today..did quick struts and a cv axle..will post up once
its edited..im beat lol
its ok Klowny, u doin good job, some folks out there think they know it
all, or just like to critzise follks, no matter if your correct, so keep
the good work up .
Thanks for the advice. I've been having troubles trying to get one of the
hoses off, so I can flush my heater core. It's almost like it's sealed on
there.
Heater hose underneath the distributor cap. Fuck me. Every video I've seen
is the same shit, but no video on the proper procedure of replacing. Looks
like I'm gonna have to take off the cap and then remove it, because the
numbskull who put the hose on, put the clamp point on the nearside when
faceing the engine, making it next to impossible to fit my huge ass hands
into. Sorry for the youtube rant, just have class at 8 am monday and had
plans and this shit happens. Fuckin lovely.
talk to a mechanic or guys at the parts store. for me, it was Easy to
replace: drain coolant, remove the air filter arm that goes to air filter
(a few clamps and one or two other attachments that unscrew or pop off,
just remember for reassembly), reach down and remove two hose clamps on
heater hose, remove busted hose, put clamps on new hose, dip ends in
coolant (helps them slide on easier), adjust clamps, put back the air
filter cover and tubing - refill coolant
you can actually go to your local parts store (a chain like oreilly or
autozone) and i believe both of those places carry vehicle service manuals
that have handy how-to guides for almost everything you need to take apart
, and they let you rent tools on a deposit (you get the deposit back when
you return tools) .. some of them even let you work in their parking lot
I have had a coolant leak in that same exact general area for the last few
days. My car overheated today, I guess it was leaking more than I though.
Same car, only it's a 1996. Please tell me if you find out anything! or
send me a link if this is for a forum?
Great, found out it was a hose leak. I was able to cut off the hole and
stretch the hose back in place. but now it wont start! haha. I think it may
have been the spark plug wires or one of the wire housings I unplugged to
get to the hose...
Broken Heater Hose Push On Quick Connector on GM Silverado!
This video outlines the process of replacing a broken heater hose Quick Connect Coupler on a General Motors vehicle. Some 2000-2007 year model Chevrolet, ...
Checking rubber hoses, radiator, heater hose, fuel hose. Can find hoses that may burst before it happens. This Channel provides videos for informational ...
People always forget about the heater hoses, espically the hoses for the
heater core. They can be a beast to get to sometimes but don't neglect to
change them or you will be overneating on the side of the road. My dad use
to say, I'd rather have my hood up in the driveway than on the side of the
road.
