The green egg used Videos

500,000 BTU Flame Thrower used to start Big Green Egg Grill Charcoal

This was a bad idea and ill advised. Sparks from the hardwood coals were shooting everywhere...scary. On the flip side, it did light the coals in sub 5 seconds.

T-Bone Steak on the Big Green Egg

Everything used in the video was produced locally. I was really impressed with the quality of steak, while it did not have very much marbling the taste and ...

Thank you! I was really happy with how this 'local' cook turned out, I will definitely be buying more steaks locally in the future.

Good choice for your first cook on the BGE. When I got my Kamado Joe last year, that was my first cook as well. Steaks looked great, and your sous chef is a cutie pie ;)

Thanks! My wife mentioned having her in the videos and I thought why not, she gets to be with her dad and not off camera trying to be quiet for the video recording. Which can be hard for a two year old to do. :)

Local streaks are the best. Your daughter is super cute. Congrats on your new grill. I hope to have one some day.

Cow goes mooooo!! LOL She's a cutie Brian!! I remember when my daughter was young like that!! Enjoy them at that age, it goes fast and they get attitudes!! LOL That steak was like butter, great job! Don't be afraid to fill the firebox with lump, there are no ill effects whatsoever. Just light as you do, control the temps on the way up. When you're done, shut the vents down and the lump will be there for the next cook.

Good point Larry, I've already seen how well you can shutdown the BGE once the cook is over. Thanks for stopping by.

The raw steak had a very nice color to it and the cook looked fabulous.

I bought a 10 pound Foster Farms package containing two birds. I'm not sure if the weight includes the fluid in which they're packaged.
