+Eswar M actually we can say the first egg(cell) was most likely not bred by two other animals... not even by animals. i would think very primitive cellcluster creatures that are ancestors to the Mushroom kingdom, the plant kindom and the animal kingdom was the first thing to lay an egg.

There was a mutation that happened from a proto chicken when the egg was formed. So when the egg was laid from said proto chicken hatched the chicken we know today was formed

If you get what im saying, basically all life depends on all other life like we as humans depend on the plant life and trees to breath. I like that you said it was your opinion at the end because religion is just an idea. Not everyone actually has a religion or people believe in different religions so simply saying God made chickens doesn't answer the question. Atheist for example don't believe in a god so this answer will not work for them. So to find a logical answer that will suit everyone people use science to create a theory since no one can really prove which came first. Of course each theory isn't fact. I believe ,like the guy in the video, that the egg came first. If the theory of evolution is true than the chicken was based off of something else so for the chicken to be made something else would have had to laid the egg then the egg went through different mutations and became the present day chicken
