What about rice weevils? Don't you need to freeze your Mylar bags of rice
for 3 to 4 days to kill any unseen weevils and their eggs? I've bought
Sam's Club 50 lb. bags of rice and discovered rice weevils in the bags of
rice after 3 or 4 months. So I freeze the 50 lb. bags of rice for 4 days
and then seal the rice in 4 mil Mylar bags.
Sorry to say but I don't think is necessary true about the brown rice
because i have had brown rice for a 6 months and as long as i keep it dry
and keep it away from light i think it is going to be fine got some brown
rice in my cotanner no bugs have gotten to it so think u ar wrong about
brown rice not lasting that long
+Danielle Marceaux Comparatively speaking, white rice can last for 15-20 years. Brown rice has oils and can go rancid. I doubt it would even take but a year or two. Janice
Just wondering, do you usually eat that much rice? And in times of an
emergency when there's no electricity and water is scarce, do you really
want to use so much of your bottled water to cook rice? And then use more
water to wash pots and utensils? I realize instant rice doesn't have the
same quality as cooked rice, but in a true emergency, instant rice doesn't
need cooking, not much water, and requires no washing of utensils and pots.
Try it yourself. Take a cup of instant rice and add a cup of water. Cover
and let it sit on the counter for about 45 mintues. The rice will absorb
the water without heat. It's now ready to eat. No cooking, no washing pots.
And the cup of water that was absorbed by the rice will be metabolized in
your body as one cup of H2O. So the water wasn't wasted on cooking or
washing pots.
So If I wanted to bury the buckets out in the woods, how long with the
mylar and oxygen absorbers would they be ok? How long will the rice,
flour, pancake batter, etc..etc.. last?
You should ALWAYS freeze any rice/grain prior to eating. There can be larva
or insects that are attached and can hatch, regardless of the amount of
oxygen provided. They may not live long in your container... but I dont
want bugs with my rice when eating dinner.
Regardless if you're a prepper, prepping for 10 yrs down the road, or if
you're purchasing rice to eat tomorrow, always freeze. The last thing you
want is bugs flying around your pantry.
+MsStanleycat deep freeze for 3 to 7 days, then lay the bag out in the sun until completely dry, usually 4 hours or more, then empty rice into mylar bags, add O2 absorbers, squeeze air out, heat seal and then seal 5 - 6 gallon food grade tube.keep in cool-dry place, should keep well for up to 12 years.I like to put a bay leaf in each bag, ready to cook
After you freeze the rice or beans for three days can you put them into mylar bags with oxygen absorbers right away or should you let the rice and beans return to room temperature?? Please advise.
Why not? You'd think you'd need all the protein you can get. As a prepper, you should look into edible insects. The food of the future! And eaten in most of the world as a delicacy.
Long Term Food Storage: Rice, In Mason Jars
We package 50# of rice using a food saver vacuum sealer and quart size mason jars. This is a rework of an original video we did. We added a segment at the ...
I stored rice and the small parasites eventually took over the containers -
there has to be a way to get rid of the microscopic insects that are
already in the food
Thanks , we all have to learn and share . Our very lives 'could' depend on
it . I take down written notes for we just may not have U tube to fall back
on . Rice in mason jars is a good idea and mylar bags with buckets also . I
think doing both is a big plus . Again thank you !
Hi Amy, we do not need one as the machine pulls all the air out...thanks!

Damien Rice - My Favourite Faded Fantasy (Full Album) 1080p HD
I do not own any of these songs, they´re all property of Damien Rice (composer and musician). Ninguna de éstas canciones son de mi propiedad, sino de ...
i have always heard Rice's songs. although i don`t understand those songs's
story -because i don't read in English, i think it always convey sadness
mood that someone shoud have. thus i like it and i love Damien rice
+김광민 what i think about Colour me In: in short Rice is singing that the heart is the most important part in living a life that fulfills..no matter the various thoughts that run through a mind day in and day out, coming from a place of love is always the way to True happiness. the sadness in the instrumental music, in my opinion, is just a reflection of the struggle he has endured to find that happiness
He had wanted her to sing on the album. "I spoke to her about it and asked
her what she thought of it [making music together] and she very beautifully
responded saying that she thinks it's best for both of us that we" - here
he pauses for a long time to find the right words - "do our own thing for
now.
"The moment I got that response - boom! - everything started working.
Because I could let go and I was like 'ok, I'm doing this alone'."
That sense of liberation was tinged with sadness. "I don't think the two of
us will work together again," he says, looking at his hands, "but there's
no reason why we couldn't play live together again some time."
Is it just me or is the part at 47 min. exactly the same as the verse of
'cold water'? Not just the chord progression, but most of the (vocal)
melody as well..
+Matt Byrne Matt u really missed something!! Try to catch him elsewhere!! He is even better live!!! Btw I love Montreux...I live in Bern ... lucky u! <3

it isn't good enough tho :)
+Softstar AJ The last episode of"Secrets And Lies" brought me here too. The voice gives me the ‘proverbialchills’...haunting...the words ring so true to my life experience... the sincerityof the sound... the raw honesty, and reality, of the theme. The ‘arrangement’ is pureperfection. Without it being what it is, the song would just not be aspowerful. I haven’t listened to much musiclately because they don’t play much (NEW) on radio that I really enjoy. I guessI have to search for artists to get back to loving music. Damien has inspired me to start towrite again. This type of writing and music is always relevant and trulytouching. This song ‘got to me’ in everypossible way. As another commenter said, I’m wearing out my ‘playback button’. I don’t know if I’ll like the restof the songs, but I’ll certainly give Damien Rice a ‘listen’. And how appropriate was this particularsong for that episode of “Secrets And Lies”!? Amazing! Thanks DamienRice!!! You’re the ‘Real-Deal’.
