Question Robert after I put my cam cover back on my exhaust cam is off line
by a little, how can I get it back in time without pulling the cam cover
back off ?
Hey Robert! I'm leveling up my 850 and bought an ecu and 19t with spool
control from ard. Now he mentions that the cams need to be adjusted amd
I've purchased the tool to do that but im still not crystal clear on how to
retard or advance the cams.
+rebelmaderighteous Is there anything else i should be aware of in attempting this? You mentioned the lifters would resist against the cams rotating, will they be difficult to move?
+Robert DIY ooohhhhhh it all makes sense now. I had no idea the gears where slotted. Maybe you mentioned it in th is video but i must have passed right past it. Thanks for your patience!
+rebelmaderighteous Set the timing on the marks. remove the cap, rotor, etc. from the intake cam. Loosen the bolts on the front of the cam sprocket. From the back of the cam. turn the cam (top) towards the front of the car (advance). That would be counter clockwise when looking at the back of the cam. Secure the bolts on the cam sprocket and install the cap, rotor, etc. Do the same for the exhaust, remove the cam sensor and turn it either clockwise (retard) or counter clockwise (advance) when looking from the back of the head. Let me know if you have any questions.
1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe – Ultimate Edition - Jay Leno's Garage
Phase one of the restoration is done and the Gullwing is finally on the road! Despite its reputation as being the F1 of its day, Jay was skeptical... until he found ...
+William Kiene You are right. The only engine design inherently smoother than a straight-six is a V12 (because it is essentially two straight sixes connected).
Very cool looking cars indeed, even when they're parked next to Jay's Gullwing!!I've got a 1971 Triumph GT6 that I'm restoring at the moment, but i'm planning on buying a TR2 or TR3 when I'm doneI'm not sure the original fans were up to the job on these cars, especially in Arizona (I'm in the UK about 5 miles away from the site of the old Triumph Factory so cooling shouldn't be a problem for me). If the cooling system appears to be in order on your uncle's car, maybe there's a blockage/restriction in the engine block? He could run a flushing agent through the engine, but the only way to really clear out the water passages would be to strip the engine and have it dippedHope you all enjoy the car, they really are beautiful
+BuzZzKiller Sure is....Triumph TR3A Wide Mouth.I can't wait for him to do a video on that one, I've seen it in the background of so many of his videos
