"If we could include the vw, it would be #2, next to the evo" if you could
include the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution MR FQ-440 now thats a 4 cylinder,
with 440hp at 4,600 rpms and 412 lb-ft of torque at 3,100 rpm's with only
2.0 liters.
it's easily the most powerful 4 cylinder, production car, with 220bhp per
liter!!!
+Rob Rock yeah I heard about the final editions, and the Mitsubishi has been making, tough, powerful, reliable for the money 4 cylinders for a long time now, most of the other manufacturers have been playing catch up over the last few decades, and even now I don't feel as though there is much reason to go to any other motor, the 4G63T has a massive after-market I know the 4B11T is whats in the new evos and it gets the job done, but the 4G63T is the better contender... well when it comes to making massive 4 cylinder power that is.
+Mitsubishikid don't forget they came out with the evolution final edition just for the usa. it has like 487 bhp. that would qualify for the list still being a 2.0 i4. but it launches this year after this videos been out for a while.
+MegaRingstar True but still an honorable mention would be nice. while it was produced in vary limited numbers, it's rarity is no reason not to mention it in the list. the whole FQ series is street drive-able in Europe, so it's not like the fq series is some exotic track only car.it's kinda like not including [or mentioning] a Shelby mustang in a grouping just because they only made 100 of them etc.
Government cheese ha ha. That statement would take a very different meaning
here in Africa where many die before ever setting foot in any form of
motorized vehicle, yet most Americans will sneer at the thought of a 4
cylinder Mustang.
Life (sigh)
+nigahiga6400 You are correct that in-line 4's are rough and unrefined compared to other 4-cycle-piston engine's with 6 or more cylinders. But 4's are capable of brutal power output for their displacement. You see very few 6's or 8's under 2.5 liters simply because the 4's totally outperform them. The large piston-to-displacement ratio of a 4 gives faster torque rise than a 6-8-12+ cylinder engine, a major reason Offenhauser 4's dominated Indy for 50 years until effectively rule-booked out of racing. The normally-aspirated 255cid Offenhauser 4 could blow 390cid NASCAR V8's off the track in it's day. Now, the Subaru Boxer 4 is incredibly smooth with lighting quick, smooth power delivery. If Subaru ever uses the Offenhauser cylinder sleeve design in its Boxer engine, you could see a 4-cylinder engine that would leave larger-displacement 8's in its dust.
You have to understand the Mustang is a muscle car, traditionally powered by a V8 engine and rear wheel drive. The muscle car's image is made up of power, straight line speed, the ability to smoke tires, and the ever important V8 engine sound. A four cylinder turbo Mustang is blasphemy and vastly inferior to a 302 powered Mustang. Same goes for the Camaro. A turbo four Camaro will always be inferior to a 6.2L V8 powered Camaro to the muscle car enthusiast. Besides, a turbo four does not deliver magical fuel economy while providing the power of a V6. When that turbo forces more air into the engine, more fuel is needed too. Toyota stuck with the V6 in the Camry because their competitors simply did not deliver promises of improved fuel economy with their turbo fours. A turbo four is also less refined than a V6: more noise, vibrations, and lacks the smooth power delivery.
BEST of Start Up sounds!! More than 70 Exhaust Sounds!
To celebrate my 600th video, I have made this compilation: probably all the start up sounds from supercars I've recorded in the past years. It's the largest start-up ...
Der Tiefe Ton den man hört, wird nicht durch den Motor, sondern hauptsächlich durch den Auspuff ausgegeben, wo der normale Motorklang zB deutlich tiefer wird, je nachdem wie der Auspuff gebaut ist.
in this video the aston martins have the best deep growl. to me the best
super car sound of all time not listed in this video go's to the lexus lfa.

2015 Ford Edge Engines: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know
//www.TFLcar.com ) The new 2015 Ford Edge can be purchased with three different engines. Two of these engines are turbo charged Ford EcoBoost power ...
If its tuned for regular yea, if not you'll get knock and destroy your engine over time because it constantly has to retard timing. Never cheap out on octane if you value your engine life.
In what mad alternate universe did ford think that a turbo 2.0 litre isn't
capable of towing? Ford America, go and get taught about towing and the
general ins and outs of everything else about cars by ford Europe!! They
have brains...
Yea that timing belt/chain might not require any maintenance for 150k but
those dinky plastic guides are gonna shit the bed early just like in the
audis.
I think the 2.7 is a waste of money, what do you need more horsepower in an
edge for? I love big v8s and and more horsepower but come on, in an edge do
you really need that?
i think that torque is what there after more than top end horsepower , the 2.7 has better fuel economy than a 3.5 v6 and would allow alot of low end grunt . otherwise your only turbo option has a 2 liter engine trying to move an suv .. not exactly a great combo .
That 2.7 needs to find its way into the Fusion. Those are better peak
numbers than the standard BMW 335i. That engine in the Fusion with AWD
would be something serious.
+goatmonkey2112 I had the 2.0 Fusion, and that engine is more than enough for a midsize sedan. I've had five adults in that car, including me, and it pulled like I was the only one in there. I now have a 2016 Lincoln MKZ, with the same 2.0. There is no loss of power. I do feel that 2.7 should be an option instead of the naturally aspired 3.5.
The Edge is garbage, and both of those engines are garbage. What kind of
idiot engineer thinks it's a good idea to have the exhaust integrated. The
only good engines Ford has now are the 5.4 and the PowerStroke.
Progressive foolU just proved u r the biggest fool who thinks like I kno everyrhing,INFACT U KNO NOTHING,I AM NOT HERE TO EDUCATE A FOOL LIKE U,U keep on believing ur bull shit, mayb that gives u ur daily bread, for all people who want a SPORTY CUV , EDGE IS THE BEST PERIOD, unless for Progressive punks
+Ponygt 662 the Ecoboost has been out for a bit. And it has issues. Seriously do your homework before spouting garbage.Drives supremely good compared to what? An old Bronco? It can not come even close to a Subaru or even a CRV.The CD4 vehicles out right not and for the close future are good for old ladies at best. The best thing you could do is to stop replying because you just keep looking like a fool.
Progressive DestroyerThats why its called Poor mans X5 and YES it drives suprenely good, just watch the reviews of new edge or read some, all say how great the EDGE sport handles, sure it cant match The RWD charm but it sure has more power and the best straight line speed of all CUVS under 45000$,Also I agree that Fords tranny is not the best but even still the chassis which is based on CD4 platform is one of the best in the world, the CD4 Mondeo fights against even the BMW 3 series so the Edge can fight a BMW SUV,if u think otherwise,ur a fool,And the 2.7s havent been out not even a day, then how the hell did u find turbo issues big foolish ASS.
+Ponygt 662 it's not even close to an X5. The Edge is a fwd POS. And the AWD option is coupled to a crap trans. And they have already had turbo issues.
Progressive destroyerIf it can pull the F 150 then why not an EDGE,See how pity u are, just let it go, the EDGE SPORT IS AWESOME,ITS A POOR MANS BMW X5M
Prgressive DestroyerJust let go off ur pride, there is no point arguing here, if that was the case,Fusion, escape,F 150s wouldnt have topped the best 3 selling autos in USA, u can repair ur mimd 1st before blabbering blunder like Ecoboost WILL FAIL,what If it wont fail,
+kkthxk You have said it best here. The automotive engineers at You Tube don't understand that the REAL ENGINEERS need to come up with solutions to meet upcoming fuel consumption regulations. So when companies like Ford introduce new engines that will be compliant with said regulations, these You Tube engineers start flailing around and calling the product junk even though it hasn't done one mile on public streets yet. The fact that the one guy here says that the Edge, (a family oriented SUV) is junk because it doesn't offer a manual transmission sums it up for me. I'll put my faith with the engineers at Ford.
+Progressive Destroyeryawwwwwwn thats a lot of talk from someone who isn't going to buy anything. Dont like what fords selling? dont buy it. You dont have to cry your vagina on the youtubes about it.
+Ponygt 662 actually yes most of those brands have MT. Some of the vehicles may have paddle shifters. I said Ford is only giving at AT option, they are not putting an MT into it. They may in the future. Your perception of handling gives excellent insight into your mentality. You actually think a Fiesta handles better than a WRX. What a deluded fool you are.Mercedes has quite the history with problems, and turbo failures are among them. Have you ever heard of compression ignition? Wall pressure? Are you trying to say skirt injected oil? In which case that came on diesels way before gas. Did you know that the learning curve is pretty shallow and in fact won't help the average driver. Unlike many aftermarket systems.
+Progressive Destroyer U r absolutely an idiot, if thats the case whats the use of BMW X5M,Merc GLA 45 AMG, does all these have Manuals fool, its ur rubbish culture of driving ATs more that makes Ford not give an AT option in USA, I live in Asia and 90+% of Ford sold here are manuals and all Fords even the tiny Fiesta handles better than any shit any other car brand makes , except for Mazda which handles good but is made of tin canAnd answer 2 ur 1st question, how many Mercedes E63 AMG have u seen with turbo failures, have u heard of lean burn gas engine technology,do u know how ecoboost maintains wall pressure with synthetic oil water cooling that even has its separate algorithm for idle, cold and hot conditions,Do u know that Fords ECU has learning curve See I am not here to teach some fool technology, but if u dont know shit dont try 2 b a poser
+Ponygt 662 way to read and copy. And I'm on a phone as well. Obviously a much better phone. The Edge is still garbage. No option for a manual automatically makes it useless except to retards (like yourself) and old ladies. You don't have any clue as to what repair is going to cost. That alone makes it economically unviable. Sure you have a warranty, but they'll scapegoat it to the consumer after their stupid head design starts cracking (and it will). Way to try and be a keyboard warrior. You couldn't even answer my first question because you knew I was right and you didn't want to look more like a fool, which you did anyway. Same goes for you +kkthxk. It's very obvious Subaru, Jeep, Audi even Volvo are much better options.
Progreasive DesrroyerI am typing from a phone, I dont sit in front of a computer wasting time with garbage comments, since U were talking like U knew a lot,I insisted in poking ur flamboyant nature.See integrated manifold thats water and oil cooled, with more than 23 sensors to detect pressure dip, temperature dip, viscocity check, impeller speed etx,U really have no idea how advanced the ecoboost engines are,Ford isnt just using ecoboost engines from some assumption, the 1st gen ecoboost engines were a result of WRC from 2006-2012 all Ford WRC cars used the 1.6 turbos for WRC ,Tthe 2.0 was developed for mainstream purposes and even Range Rover uses the 2.0 turbo of Ford,so does a lot of cars as well,The 2.3,1.0 are basically superb engines as well, the 1.0 is also getting tuned for WRC 2 category. No other brands got balla to put such an engine into a rally car,cuz the strain it makes is humungus but Ford is confident, thats because theese engines are bad ass in terms of taking payload and stress and strain. The 2.7 if u dont know was benchmarked with Fords own 2.7l v6 TDCi a work horse diesel engine that Ford makes in Australia thats well known for durability and super powerful mid range,The 2.7 is a truck engine, 90+% of trucks cover more than 100k miles and if Fords 2.7 can power trucks with ease it willfly with EDGE,Also the 3.5, Nissan makes 600 HP with 3.7 TT same way Ford makes 600+ with the new GT and its going racing at Le Mans 2016 against all small block v8s and FPC v8s and flat 6 and straight 6 turbos, do u think Ford is mad to make an engine like 3.5 TT EB knowing that it ll fail, like its turbos are going to fail,Hell know, they are just gaining more and more ground with the EB technolgy despite bad fuel economy concernsJust keep ur calm and enjoy ur drive, the new EDGE 2.7 is the best compact SPORT utility vehicle period. Its reliability is a matter that Ford has taken care of,u just need to enjoy the POWER it has. Dont over do it.
Everyone is turbocharging with integrated water jackets to boost fuel efficiency and help with emissions. A water cooled head can run a leaner burn, its all in the pursuit of getting every ounce of efficiency out of the internal combustion engine. All of these changes are being made due to CAFE and Euro requirements. That said, anything can be engineered to work well over the long haul; it just needs to be stated as a requirement to the engineers. I'm sure the engineers and bean counters at Ford motor corporation probably have a better understanding of what needs to be delivered into their fleet due to new regulations; more importantly, 95% of buyers probably couldnt care less; and if you do care, you can simply not purchase one. I hope this stops you from trying to be an armchair automotive engineer.
+Ponygt 662 yep, you just proved how ignorant your are of vehicle engineering, grammar and myself. What part of an integrated exhaust into the head do you think is a good idea? You failed to properly tag me, which shows your grammar. And you don't know me, but if you did you would know I drive an 88' F-250 4x4 with a 7.3IDI.
Progressive destroyeeI am not writing any official letter here, makes u even more stupid as u ve misses the point and startes thinkin of grammar, nice try Ford hater.
Nice try Ford hater, u will b full of surprises when Ford sells a boat load of the new 2.7 EDGE sport, cuz who carez about the bull shit u talk about, people will find the new EDGE a formidable package, truly a poor mans BMW X5,MERC GLA,AUDI Q5 QUATTRO.
+Adam McGee VW did it as well with some of the TDI turbos. They had a separate exhaust manifold, but the turbo was built into it. Eventually the aftermarket fixed it. I dont think they will do the same for the Ford. I am sure it will not have a following of people wanting to do anything but drive it.
+Progressive Destroyer I agree thats dumb. Mercedes did that with their 5.5L twin turbo. They integrated the manifold and turbos inside the engine, What a dumb idea, if those turbos bite it I'd hate to see the bill. Same with these fords, putting regular crap gas into a car with a turbo sounds like a recipe for disaster.
+Adam McGee I somehow forgot about the Coyote. You are correct, it is a good engine. Even the regular V6 is good, but when they do things like integrated exhaust manifolds then its time to go back to the drawing board.
5.0 Coyote? I think thats a good engine. My 3.5 Cyclone engine in my explorer has been pretty decent too.
Supercar Hits 714mph
Powered by two Phantom II jet fighter engines, the Thrust SSC hits 714mph (1149km/h) in the Black Rock Desert in 1997. Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE for more ...
+Eric Cardona Severe structural damage to the vehicle, a fire is also likely to follow and shortly after that a fatality I'd wager and it would all take place very, very quickly.
A bit funny everyone arguing about the definition of a car when the land
speed record has nothing whatsoever to do with cars. It's a record of the
fastest way to travel along land, you can attempt the record riding on a
donkey if you so wish...
