Northwest DC9 departing from Memphis
Northwest DC9-30 (N9331) taking off from MEM on April 16, 2007. It was my first time in MEM, and I came away pleased with the experience. It was a simple and ...
i love the dc9's i will miss them so much but i think delta will keep them
for awhile or just the -50's im sad to say i think the first to go will be
the -30's
That beautiful bird kept buzzin my house until my dad finally said we could
down to see. I live only a couple miles away in neighboring wethersfield so
I had already seen the liberty belle when she came to brainard. When I was
goin through the Memphis belle i whacked my head hard in the cockpit lol
Delta 757-232 Departing Memphis
Delta Air Lines Boeing 757-232 departing Memphis; routing MEM - ATL.
I don't think that's quite right. If the aircraft gained speed more quickly
than usual, the plane would just reach rotation speed quicker. Same goes
for a ferry flight. With no pax and baggage, an empty airplane really
performs differently because it is so much lighter, but you don't see the
pilots doing a takeoff run at 70% power so they don't "gain speed too fast."
I Fly the MD11 and the plane reduces thrust it self for about two seconds
so the engine pressure does not build up heat because then fuel does not
get burned properly. Reduces stress on the engine. when you go full thrust
lots of pressure is being built up on the plane so reducing causes the
engine less stress and no problems for the engines.
@tjisnumbaone Well...HERE"S a thought. Since ATLANTA is Delta's MAIN HUB:
it is possible that the aircraft was being "turned around as they say ...to
be used on another flight that was traveling a longer distance. Airlines
don't just keep aircraft at the same airport all of the time. It wouldn't
be profitable.
I love the sound of those Pratt and Whitney engines on takeoff ! The 757 is
a sexy and powerful aircraft......that kind of power is especially
appreciated when trying to get out of a crime infested ghetto like
Memphis....
it's probably becuase he was gaining speed a little to fast. It look like
there might of been a tail wind pushing the aircraft. Just stating my
opinion but he did throttle up during the climb.
@retroguy1976 sad to say but most us based airlines got rid of all their
planes that required flight engineers.its just cheaper for the airlines but
fedx flies then!!! for now anyway..
I used to have a place where people could park their cars and actually
watch planes take off like this and also if they wanted to, they could
enjoy a nice lunch if the weather was good enough, Then 9/11 came, and
after that I guess they decided to permently close it down, which to me I
could totally understand, even though like I said it was a fantastic place
to pull off the road and watch planes takeoff and land all depending on
which way the wind was blowing that day......
Hey everyone, this is a FedEx Express Airbus A300-600F taking off from Calgary International Airport (CYYC/YYC), bound for Memphis International Airport ...
For everyone wondering about the video invasion, I'm going to be scaling it
back to about 2-3 uploads each day this weekend, as I don't want to
overwhelm my subscribers.
the 737-700's are brand new, and there are ptv's on most 767's...all 763
and 763ER have ptv's, and 764D has ptv's in first only (domestic version
being converted to international) and the international 764 has ptv in both
classes.
Yea I mainly fly on Northwest and when I see if there's any seat in front
of the engines I will always pick it (I fly standby) because the Pratts on
the 75s are amazing and sound better than the CFMs on their 320 family
i dont like 757s they have to much power,,they thin but long and narrow but
too powerful they were crazy for building them like that they need to which
out the enginees so they wont be so powerful
