I was diagnosed at 9... 19 now and about to start enbrel next week (I was virtually untreated for years bc they stripped me of my diagnosis shortly after and re-diagnosed me at 16 post-op)! I just have to wait for the RN to teach me how (I've never used an autoinjector- my mtx injections were manually drawn from the vial). My grandfather had a lot of success with enbrel so we're hoping the same will go for me! It breaks my heart to think she'll never have any memories without RA. How is Grace now? Is enbrel still effective? Is she in remission?

Bless her. She's so precious. As an adult with RA, I know how painful and debilitating RA can be, I can't imagine as a child. My heart hurts for her. She is so strong. I hope she is still doing well. I start my first Enbrel injection this week in combination with Methotrexate as the Methotrexate alone has not worked. Thanks for the video. She is a true RA warrior :)

My daughter started Enbrel in Nov. Of 2013 and she has watched this video numerous times. She's a pro when we give her shot now and she's so proud that she's just like Grace :) Enbrel has really helped my daughter and Grace has helped her also :) so I just wanted to say Thank you! I hope Grace is doing well now and that she is having many good days :)

aww....tuff cookie. i was searching to see if anybody had posted a vid on this(enbrel auto inj.) and realized a million people had and i clicked on this for some reason...it just makes it harder to feel sorry for myself. thanks for sharing. glad the enbrel makes her feel better. is she still on it and doing well?

I just saw this video today. Was just diagnosed with PA 2 days ago. I have been suffering from joint pain and psoriasis for about 8 years now. I have seen literally a dozen doctors in the past few years. Your story is exactly like mine, down to the flat feet pain. Which I recently discovered about some sole gel pads that helped. I haven't been able to walk barefoot without pain for a number of years now. Just in the last few months my right ankle and index finger have become pretty bad. I am suppose to start taking doses of mexotrexate this coming week. And then move towards humira in 5 weeks. Thank you for your story and the hope!

Wow - I haven't experienced anything like that! It is like a super power! Amgen has programs for people with insurance, on medicaid, who have no insurance and for people who are underinsured. If you can use the program, you should. You should see if the maker of Humira has a similar program. I imagine they all have one.

+boxxer55 Thanks... If the Humira is not as effective I will try that but I dont want to drive up the cost of a program that is helping people if i dont need to. I have a few more "sample" injections of Enbrel left while we wait for insurance approval. Question do you or do you know anyone who has had a increased or altered sense of smell? Coworker has dogs and I could smell the dog dander (on a very clean lady) from 30+ feet away! and Nitrile Gloves smell like balloons! its kinda crazy.

Justin, They stopped covering Enbrel completely or is it subject to a higher deductible? I am going to do a video soon about the Enbrel card. It is a support program that gives you a "virtual master card" to help pay the deductible on your insurance policy. Using the Enbrel card can actually reduce your insurance costs by using Enbrel because the card covers the deductible for all of your coverage. That means if you have a $4,000 deductible for example, you could use the Enbrel support payments to cover that out of pocket expense. In about 4 months, your annual deductible would be paid by the makers of Enbrel.

Insurance stopped covering Enbrel on Jan 1. So need to talk to my doc about Cimzia, Humira. I'm really disappointed I had fantastic results in the 1st 12 hours it stopped a skin flair up on my hands, I had lesions disappearing before my eyes! Joint and mussel pain gone (for days!) today I am going in for my 2ed injection (and to talk about another med) and I have moderate mussel and joint pain.long story short i have not felt this good in years! lets hope I have the same results with one of the other meds.

Thanks for this video! I just got approved for Enbrel, so I will be starting shortly. I'm 41 and have suffered with PA since I'm 15. Some years were easier than others, but in the recent years it has gotten much worse. My psoriasis isn't bad at all, but the PA is horrible. I hope I have the same results as you!

+vsgtanya2011 It is crazy how it works, isn't it? Miracle is the word I would choose as well. We are truly lucky to live in a day and age when this stuff is available to us and to have the financial / insurance resources to pay for it. It is a shame to think of all the sufferers who cannot afford or get this treatment.

Yes! I have taken 5 weekly doses and I'm feeling sooooo much better! I actually started to feel relief after the first dose, but couldn't believe it. After the second dose, I knew it was real. This is like a miracle. I have been suffering for so long and trying different drugs, I almost can't believe how quick I felt the results. Thank you so much for checking on me! I should probably make a video like you to help spread the word.

+adrian hopper Sorry but nowadays the only drugs for treating AD available in the market are either cholinesterase inhibitors like donepezil, or NMDA receptor antagonists. TNF-a Inhibitors are still under study.
