Hello! Learn Japanese for free with Nihongonomori! Do you want to watch anime without subtitles? Then you found the right place! In Nihongonomori, There are ...
I already knew all the words in this video so I would like to know more
about words meaning "you" that I dont understand yet such as 御主 (おぬし) that
was used in GATE anime episode 13 8min 35s and how is words にし おどれ おのれ
used?
+falcoillusion982 Currently I don't make study lists or similar studying techniques in Japanese because I don't want to mess up my English grammar/vocabulary with too much Japanese, I have to do my English exam first. (I should be able to pass it
+SprightlyPianist You are right, obenkyou is the best for kanji study because writing quiz is good and grammar part is also good. But in Tango master is also kanji study mode and fun shiritori game. There is also web reader but I dont use it. The main reason why I love Tango master is that i can make my own study lists. I usually make study lists where i put all words that i didnt know while reading light novel or watching anime. Then i can review those words later and i remember the words easily because i know how the words were used.
+SprightlyPianist Using those apps is it possible to make your own study lists and study words in those lists using various quizzes. In Tango master there is also clever kanji look up, offline dictionary and very clever quiz system. I have a problem that there is no app that is so good as Tango master so i have to use always windows phone when studying Japanese. I would like to have android phone but then I have to use two phones at the same time. Do you know dictionary as good as Tango master for android (Tango master is also free of charge).
+Edgar Rojas I have only tablet (Android). I use two dictionaries: IMI (意味) which is awesome, you must try it! And JED which contains any kind of words, also 主(にし).
+falcoillusion982 I use two dictionaries, mainly Jisho.org and one for Android called Takoboto. And both shows me that 'nishi' with the Kanji you said means You. But both dictionaries don't have details about it and both say that is "a familiar word". So I guess that like the first person said, it could be an obsolete use, a word that nobody uses more. :)
+SprightlyPianist Those characters are called Japanese variants of Chinese characters, but I understand you well because I am also from Europe and have a passion for Chinese characters. I do calligraphy and I have attended calligraphy courses, but those courses are very basic and boring. So basically all the information I have got by studying alone and watching youtube videos as a reference when doing calligraphy. I have studied so much that I can compete against Japanese people in kanji writing (have already tried).
+falcoillusion982 My favourites are when Japanese is halfway between traditional and simplyfied Chinese: (氣気气 龜亀龟) or they simply use a different character (働 売 砲)Damn, I want to do this for living. It's a shame I can't do it in Europe
+SprightlyPianist Yes, Japanese usually uses traditional forms of Chinese characters, but character 御 is one of the exceptions where that is not the case. more examples 體 鐡 變 and many more.
+falcoillusion982 Yes! I love the character's meaning and way of writing. Also it's origins. It's the simplyfied form of Traditional Chinese 禦 "defend/resist" ^^
+SprightlyPianist Your profile picture was the first thing I looked at. After that I read the message, but character 御 is one of my favourites when doing 書道. It is usually used when giving a card for example usually 御祝い is written for congratulate receiver. Meanings for the character are honorable, manipulate and govern.
+SprightlyPianist My dictionary claims that word にし means also "you" and that word uses kanji 主. Thank you for the reply, your knowledge of Japanese is amazing.
I don't know if 御主(おぬし) is still used or not... It feels like a historical/anime word. Since 主 means "lord/chief/master" it's the opposite of 君(きみ).にし means "west", I don't see how that's used for "you".己(おのれ)! is just saying "Damn it!". But you can put "you" in the translation: "Damn it, you...!"The another meaning of 己(おのれ) is "-self" like in the phrase 己(おのれ)に克(か)つ = "to control oneself"己(おどれ) is a dialect ;)
What To Do in Yokohama & Sendai (JAPAN) Part 2
Finally, Part 2 of our Japan travel video! Let Jared and Marianne take you through the exciting hustle and bustle of the city of Yokohama and the beautiful ...
+alcibald I didn't recognize all the places but for Matsushima there was Kanrantei Tea House, Godaido, Entsuin Temple, Shokado (castella cakes), Saigyo Modoshi no Matsu Koen park/panoramic view, the Date Masamune History Museum (where you can try on armor if you make a reservation!), and the bay cruise ships. Across Matsushima Bay was Shiogama City's fish market (they also have great sushi shops in Shiogama). Sendai included Zuihoden, Jozenji Street for the starlight pageant illumination (ended Dec 31st), the skating rink near Kotodai Station. Gaga Onsen is in southern Miyagi prefecture as are the Zao ski resorts. Fox Village (kitsune mura) is a bit of a drive/taxi ride from Zao. I haven't been to the Zao area places. When you get to Sendai Station (or the airport) try the tourist information center there and they can get you pamphlets and info about how to get to all of these places. Sendai City is really central and easy to take day trips out of by train or bus.
did airasiaX bring you to each individual places or you hired someone else?
because someone had to be paid for you to be able to experience so many
different interesting places in a short time haha
+Benjamin Chew Alcyone Actually a lot of these places are really close together. All the Sendai/Matsushima places are easy to visit in 2-3 days. The Zao fox village and Gaga Onsen is a little farther away. Sendai itself is only a 1.5 hour train ride from Tokyo by shinkansen bullet train.
+Benjamin Chew Alcyone Special thanks to the Yokohama and Sendai tourism board for getting Grim on board to help promote their beautiful cities! Not many people are actually aware of these cities surprisingly! There's a whole lot of stuff to see there.

Just wondering at 1:47:47 why does AmaiHachimitsu have a higher score than
serea even tho serea got only 2 100s and amai got 33 100s? Im so lost,
sorry if that was a stupid question
It's also important when you get your 100s since each note is weighted based on what your combo is. Ex. A 100 as my 300th hit means I "lost" 6000 points. But I can get a couple 100s fairly early and still end up with a better score.

im glad im british because i feel cool understanding your humour and
sarcasm and finding it damn hilarious. how does deadpan sarcastic british
humour go down in japan?
+OhMyBooda You'll never have a British sense of humour unless you were raised here. Essentially, it's impossible for you, Brits like british people and we find them funnier (Because we are the funniest, categorically speaking) :3
Perhaps try watching some British comedies or comedians or even just funny youtubers like Joe Sugg. I think sense of humour is pretty much something that you grown up with, so for a typically british sens of humour you'll need to expose yourself to it over time.
+OhMyBooda you must know a lot about movie characters , funny situations ,making fun of something by ridiculing it , and to have a funny face expressions not too much but fairly enough to express , hope that helps :)
Please redo this series using Cities Skylines, I don't think Simcity 2013
was a good choice for your ambitious project, but it is still very
commendable. Kudos.
I found this awesome all in one cheat for Sim City :) https://www.facebook.com/1000438249998258/photos/a.1000439929998090.1073741828.1000438249998258/1000439666664783/?type=3&pidid=bd6db7ea-5b0b-4768-a9ee-1840e02647c2 "Building Tokyo", Episode 1: Ueno - SimCity (2013) 【シムシティの東京】
+John Kantor Yeah. The whole single tile per city thing was really a stupid design decision, as well as with most of the game mechanics. Older City builders needed that to stay within their capabilities, but there was no reason for them not to modernize it for this game. They assumed everyone wanted the minor nostalgia or familiarity this would present, and they were wrong. People actually wanted to build something that resembled an actual, full-sized city, and Simcity didn't give them that option.
+ElfyPers0n Actually I just found out about Skylines. It does look like the way to go. The new SimCity is what happens when a company starts to think that players will follow them no matter what they do.
