Behind the Wheel: 2012 Chrysler 300 S
We get a chance to roll in Detroit's flagship import -- the 2012 Chrysler 300 S, a car that's finally come into its own. No longer a "poor man's Rolls", the 300 S ...
Chrysler, 4 vehicles, best mileage 31 hwy. Buick, 4 vehicles, best mileage
36 hwy. Lincoln, 6 vehicles, best mileage 28 hwy (with exception of one
hybrid that gets 36 hwy). Christ, Chevy & Ford make sports cars and SUV's
that do better than Chrysler and Lincoln on EPA mpg. This is why
Chrysler/Buick/Lincoln will cease to exist. The market is prime for small,
luxurious vehicles that are great on gas. Look at Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW,
Hyundai - all created smaller models exactly for this purpose.
DONT GET THE 2-POSITION SHIFTER, IT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have this same
car and the shifter sucks.. Yesterday I pushed the shifter up, thinking it
went into to park, then I pushed the button to shut the car off but there
was so much road noise I didnt realize the car didnt shut off and that it
only went into in "reverse". When i got out, started walking away, the car
started moving in reverse and if I didnt have the wheels slightly turned,
it would of hit the car parked behind me..
@minibus1351 Chrysler is desperately trying not to go under. Perhaps if
they stopped building cars with 5.7L V8 engines that get 16/25, they might
sell something. Of course if they built something that got, say, 31 on the
highway, it would still cost $23,000+ and look like a revamped Dodge
Stratus. Yes, I'm talking about the Chrysler 200. There's no need for a
Chrysler product when Buick and Lincoln make better products and even
they're struggling to meet sales numbers.
Heated and cooled cupholders? Im sold. Who cares that it get piss poor gas
milage @ $4 a gallon. Plus the 20" tires and rims just waiting to get bent
by the nearest pothole is great also. The nav screen looks cool and the
fact that its voice recognition has a hard time dicerning the English
language is another reason to plop down $45G's. Oh, did they tell you that
there is a gas guzzeler tax on this model? Yea, he left that one out.
can you try reviewing the Kia Optima and Honda Accord. my uncles helping me
get a new car soon and i can't decide between the two. Honda has its
amazing reputation, and i love Hondas in general. but the new Optima looks
so much more luxurious. I cant decide. Im 19 by the way and am planning on
keeping the car for as long as it will run.
You forgot to mention that KBB ranked the 2012 300 top ten best family cars
for 2012, IIHS ranked the 300 top safety pick for 2012, Consumer`s Digest
ranked the 300 a best buy for 2012 and the new 8 speed transmission with
the 3.6 liter pentastar V6 got ranked Ward`s top ten best engines for 2012.
:)
It must be where im from but I have NEVER ever bent a rim and I ride 22's
with 30 series rubber. Your town needs to step there game up. There also is
varying engines, the S to be honest is better with the 3.6L 8 speed
automatic. And for the nav, mine works great, must be your retarded English.
Too bad JD Power just ranked all Chrysler products last in dependability.
Chrysler, in particular, fell below Jeep & Dodge making it the absolute
least dependable mainstream manufacturer. Sure packs a lot of goodies for
the price. I'll trade those goodies for even just average dependability.

@proteanview ok, its no surprise chrysler isn't well known for their
reliability, but the general rule of thumbs for any chrysler group product
is, if nothing goes wrong after the first 30k miles, you good, if something
does go wrong, your fucked
@clifflewis3114 im just getting my opinion from my experience, we have an
02 town and country and nothing has gone wrong, my friends have all had
jeeps and no complaints or problems but vie had friends who said its just
repair after rapair
@proteanview i wonder how Jeep & Dodge rank below Chrysler when Chrysler
makes Jeep & Dodge...that's sorta confusing...but yeah i guess Chrysler is
still making hit or miss quality :( shame too as their lineup is incredibly
attractive :/
don't play your image of the car, and portray it as everyone's image. My
Chrysler is 12 years old and have been great. You can't even put together a
sentence in proper English, and you tube even has an auto correct.
@proteanview Thats actually based on cars made in 2009 just when Chrysler
went into bankruptcy and FIAT started to implement World Class
Manufacturing! Those results will not benefit them until maybe next year!
Hope ur 300 chryster will still start after 3 yrs..lol. peopl I see 300 r
ghetto black males..white trash guys or femles who like aformention
males...nice image of the car...lol
I'm no fan of this car, but value-for-money, the 300 is arguably the best
out there.

lights behave this way.
its amazing car! i drive older version of 2009 when i lived in Fethiye all
around the mountains with very hard turns and wet road ....it goes like a
monster)))
The Street and Racing Technology (SRT) performance engineering team builds upon the all-new 2011 Chrysler 300 sedan already executed for a world-class ...
@flotime420 When you buy an SRT8 you're not buying it for gas mileage,
you're buying it for the 470 hp and ft lbs it puts down on the ground in a
traditional RWD V8 configuration. You buy it because it has great styling
(subject to opinion) and plenty of luxury options, and will throw 5
occupants back in their seat as you head up to 60 in just over 4 seconds
all the way up to 175 if you so please. And if you so wish to take it on a
track it will perform just as well as most luxury/sport sedans.
@flotime420 lmfao your front wheel drive "luxury-ish" car isnt capable of
it you dumb f**k. im assuming you're talking about the older FF TL because
you think the type s is still relative in the automotive world. ahahaahahha
you made me laugh so hard when i read that you thought your 260 hp 14 s
quarter mile car was good for something other than grandmothers getting
groceries. i'm still laughing someone with a computer thinks front wheel
drive cars can be a sort of performance vehicle. Thanks
this car has the same problem all american sports cars or luxury cars have.
It's handling, cornering, and ride is garbage. US auto makers always try
and throw a big ass V8 in something to make it better. It has all that
power handles like crap gets crap gas mileage and for what? My Acura TL
Type S will shit on this and a charger. And my Acura is a luxury sedan. Oh
and it's about 12k cheaper. This is why no one buys american anymore. There
are not only better but less expensive options.
Exactly how are you supporting the USA when 90% of the parts are made
elsewhere? If you wanted to support the USA I'd buy a Honda. In the end you
end up paying more Americans then anything else cause more of the parts are
actually made here than in the Chrysler. Also, this is Americas attempt at
a Luxury car, not a Muscle car. This thing would get eaten buy a BMW any
day. You can buy whatever you like, I'm just saying. At least this gen of
300 looks nice, the older one was ugly IMO.
look guys. I know it has 470 hp and beast torque and a decent 0-60 time.
It's still crap. And it's funny how my 385 hp subaru gets decent mpg's.
It's a luxury car that's trying to be a sports sedan. It's a beater. You
want luxury get that. You want performance then go for that. This thing
doesn't have performance. It has 0-60 and that is all. I used my acura as
an example and not my subi or my 240 turbo cause the acura is the slowest.
Thats how little i think of this 300.
@madhatter913 So, you have a job to test drive cars. Then I assume you know
this is the size of an Audi A8 and one of the heaviest sedans available.
It's got an automatic transmission only......Why would you "not see the
point?" Reread my original response to you. If you bought a shotgun would
you 'not see the point' because it doesn't shoot like an AK47? I really
want to know what you were disapointed about. It's a big sedan with a v8,
what the heck did you miss.
@flotime420 youre asking your front wheels to steer, hold most to weight,
and accelerate?! not too mention the physics behind pulling the weight as
oppose to push that weight while it squats. i went to quarter mile times
because it quantifiable and youre still in economy zone. skid pad this will
wreck you, slalom it will wreck you and braking it will wreck you. i just
dont have those figures with me. so grow up and go back to racing civics n
neons
@madhatter913 "my job is to test drive cars." Look, you said you didn't see
the point and I bashed you for not seeing the obvious. It's not trying to
be a sports car. It's fast and 'sporty' but it's a luxury sedan. I don't
care if you don't like it, but to say you don't get it is like saying you
don't understand a nice pair of shoes.....it's about style and you don't
start then saying you model shoes when you work at wal-mart.
@madhatter913 are you setting me up for obvious come-backs to waste my
time? Besides it having 4 doors and not trying to be "as fast as a
corvette," it's more comfortable than those cars and is in a different
style/class. The truth you speak in your first response tells all. You
don't like the car, and so you think it's worthless. GREAT CAR REVIEW DUDE!
you're 20 years old and you don't test cars, sorry to let you know that.
@flotime420 umm.. An Acura TL or type S has no where near the same
performance or features the 300 has, when you see an acura who cares ..
looks like any other car and has no personality. When you see a 300 or
charger in your mirror.. gtfo of the way. And this car retails for around
42k plus or minus. Similar to an Acura type S or TL.. but an ST is 10
classes above it.
True. Hell, I have a Challenger and even for a two door it's nice and
roomy. My 5th modern full size Mopar. For big cars they FLY. And they are
very well built. I drive them hard but never a complaint. Any smack talking
post here is from some yutz that never had a decent ride, let alone a Mopar
with a Hemi. F**k all these haters, hahaha. Good day Sir.
Your a idiot for not only spelling SRT-8 wrong but also calling this fine
work of art ugly and saying its only good for burning rubber. I have one
and I love it because I can fit me (6'5) and my brother (6'7) in it
perfectly then be able to go 190 with no problem. Lets see you do that with
any other car that isnt over 90 grand.
@mrcaymanislands1 Show its Age? why no one ever says that about Cadillac?
the 300 and created a SIGNATURE LOOK..High beltline, boxy shape, gun slit
windows bold front end with big grill and raked rear end. and FYI... THe
New Yorker has been Trademarked again by Chrysler.... most likely as a new
model not as a replacement.
@viasevenvai I work for a dealership genius. The 300 is suppose to be a
luxury car. Why they decided to try to make it a sports car is the point I
don't see. You seem to have this huge problem that I don't like the car. If
you like it then you like it, you don't have to read me a riot act because
I don't like the car.
@awdrftr SRT8 aren't offered in manual transmission? If not, wtf was the
point? yea I agree the power slide is the best option. Theres no clutch so
he can't rev it and pop it right after he lets go of the e-brake. Thats
lame tho manufacturers are tryna act like tiptronic is enough. nope.
@leftbehindskyline My FWD is more than capable you dumb fuck. This joke of
a car is what's not capable. Funny how you proved my point though. What did
you jump to? 1/4 mile times. That's all this pos can do is a straight line.
It's crap. I would shit on this. Hahahahaha!!!!!
@heterosapien69 Hahaha its not like he can kick the clutch, there is none.
the mild stock beast is auto. so at best the driver has to E-brake it,
Power-slide, Scandinavian flick, but the power-slide is much more
predictable and safer. Especially if the car is not your own.
@viasevenvai I want to know what I'm paying 50k for, when I can get a
Challenger that is lighter, or a Ford Mustang or entry level Corvette that
are both faster. What is the point of having a 300 SRT-8, what purpose do I
need a 300 in and srt-8 platform.
@viasevenvai Because it's my job to test drive cars? I like the look, not
the fact the weight of the car makes you lose horsepower. And where are you
pulling me being blind out of? The fact someone doesn't like a car you like
is a sin?
@madhatter913 my main point is I guess this; the car doesn't have a great
purpose other than being ridiculous in a lot of ways. For you to respond
with 'i don't see the point' is clearly not getting the idea that this car
represents.
@Bizzair1990 it might have less personality but the 300 looks like a car
for street racers or gangsters the tl looks like something that is an
alternative to a bmw or lexus or audi, it looks refined and subtle
@viasevenvai I'm mostly saying it in more or less the case in, why would
you want a 300 srt-8 when the charger is the same thing. I can understand
brand preference, but its like, what am I paying 50k for?
@madhatter913 Then why did you drive it? There's nothing about this car
that will misrepresent itself after a drive. It's big and proud and if you
are blind then maybe you shouldn't be driving.
1st Chrysler 300 on 30s !!!!

@MrMrMrBrooksashad What did I show about other people? No you moron, I
brought up third grade as an example of a level of education most youtubers
should've surpassed, not because of personal achievements. Childish?
Ironic, since refusing to accept arguments or details, bringing up random
shit, and making irrelevant connections, is far more childish than
anything. I've been responding in hopes that you might stick your head out
of your ass at some point and notice how retarded you've been.
@MrMrMrBrooksashad That's because they're vain douchebags. What do you get
when you put cartoonishly large wheels on a Hummer? It's a heavy, thirsty,
cramped, expensive, and slow behemoth, and now with minimal functionality
or ride comfort. The only thing dubbed hummers got going is the supposed
'look', which only appeals to a few while removing the little functionality
it originally had. For the 60+k required, I'd rather get a nice bimmer and
NOT put retardedly oversized wheels on it.
@MrMrMrBrooksashad Look at it this way. I own 80 acres and have a normal
house. The land value went up in the past few years. Wasnt always that way.
So yes now my property together is worth around 1.7m developed. I drive a
2003 Jaguar XJ daily and have two Bentleys. A 1994 Brooklands and a 2002
Arnage. My so called achievements are nothing but normal for a successful
single male of my age. Point is why waste money on these modifications when
the overall cost can buy you the real thing?
@MrMrMrBrooksashad You're right. I don't see as an intellectual equal; I
would have to suffer extensive brain damage if I wanted to be
intellectually equal to you. To be honest, it was you who blew this out to
however you wanted it to be. I merely commented on your grammar, and you go
all out on some barely coherent rant. Yep, I'm the dumbass for caring about
grammar. You're just assuming this is the only thing in my life, which I
feel pretty stupid to have to admit that it's not true.
@MrMrMrBrooksashad My point is that you're an idiot. You're right, there is
no need to elaborate. To be honest, I suggested you learn apostrophes
because you apparently didn't, and now here you are, ranting about trying
to figure out a point that is blatantly obvious. How am I the stupid and
worthless one when the nature of the comments imply the exact opposite? I'm
just saying, is English your fourth or fifth language? Otherwise, you
really don't have an excuse to suck at English.
@MrMrMrBrooksashad See, your logic that I'm only concerned with grammar
would be logical IF, a big, fat, fucking IF, your comment was otherwise
normal written properly. Nope. It's not just one or two common mistakes.
It's riddled with poor English. Again, my only point is that apparently you
don't know something I do, which makes me marginally more knowledgeable
than you. In turn, if I'm a dumbass, you are a bigger dumbass. However
stupid I may be, you are at least one rung lower.
@MrMrMrBrooksashad Sorry, you're wrong about this being the only thing in
my life. I mean, how do you know? Are you assuming that I have a similar
lifestyle to yours? I'm not asking if I'm a dumbass or if I'm stupid. In
fact, there is no "IF" that you're a complete moron. You can insult my
intelligence all you want, but judging from what you've presented in the
comments, I know grammar and you don't. I know something you don't, which
makes you stupider than me, plain and simple.
@MrMrMrBrooksashad Retard! Seriously? The fucking Hummer company was
designed to build dedicated off-road vehicles. It's those small-dicked
overcompensating douchebags who buy a hummer to look tough. Look up the H1.
It costs 100k. It's heavy, slow, thirsty, and uncomfortable, so why does it
cost that much? Because it can keep going when the trail gets rough.
Seriously, people who buy hummers just for the "look" are vain douchebags
who have to jerk off with a microscope.
@MrMrMrBrooksashad Yep. It makes complete sense that I'm being called
stupid by someone who barely has a grasp on the language. Just because my
words are "useless defense" in your mind, doesn't mean it is true. Like I
said, if you made one or two small mistakes in an otherwise perfect piece
of writing, my bitching would be entirely frivolous. What you don't get,
however, is that every other word you've written is wrong, and fail to form
a cohesive comment overall.
@MrMrMrBrooksashad You know what? I was going to respond to each of your
comment, but just from prior experience, I decided for the best it was
TL;DR. Either way, Hummers are designed to go off-road, just like how
Ferraris are designed to go fast on-road. Any man who buys a hummer but
never leaves the pavement is equal to the ferrari owner who never takes it
to the track; vain, badly endowed, overcompensating douchebags.
@MrMrMrBrooksashad You inferred all that from my simple comments? Actually,
I'd say it's more like pulling random shit out of your ass. To be honest,
showing poor knowledge of English on a comment gives off vibes of
stupidity, like you are doing right now. I'm sorry your argument stems from
the false assumption that such issues are the only things in my life. You
don't have time for it because you are an idiot.
@MrMrMrBrooksashad Now you can add hypocrisy to the list of your personal
attributes. If you truly did not give a fuck, you would have never
responded. If you happened to stop giving a fuck at any time in between the
exchange, you would have stopped responding. Yet here you are, responding
to my comments, three at a time, which is quite opposite of what you'd done
if your above comment is actually true.
@MrMrMrBrooksashad Your argument against character limit actually SUPPORTS
your stupidity. Why? You put punctuation where it isn't needed; unnecessary
apostrophes, multiple exclamation points, etc. Again, like I said, my
bitching about grammar would be frivolous IF your comment was written
properly, aside from a few errors. Unfortunately, the count of your stupid
mistakes is too many to be "few".
@MrMrMrBrooksashad My posture? There you go again, saying random shit in
hopes of trying to salvage the e-dignity you don't have left. You mention
real intellectuals; I can guarantee you that you are not among them, so why
bring it up? "Buffoonment?" Surely an "intellectual" like you'd have known
that the word is "buffoonery". Have you heard of the proverb "the pot
calling the kettle black?"
@MrMrMrBrooksashad No you idiot. It's called "attention to detail." Why
would I try to look stupid if I am not inclined to? Again, I'm sorry for
trying to apply what I learned in elementary school and what you consider a
luxury. See the thing is, your comment would make sense if my replies were
comprised of grammatically correct, but otherwise senseless and incoherent
rambling.
@Penisbaby101 The reason why we use our money on these modifications, is
because we want our car to stand out from all the rest of those stock cars,
we love to ride in style, and maybe showoff. My cousin "tj16r" the last
time he spent on mods was a total of 90,000 dollars just for one car. He
spent alot on the other 6 cars he has.
@MrMrMrBrooksashad Way to assume completely wrong. A psychic must not be
one of your aspirations. I do hate that kind of guy. I also hate people who
assume the shit out of anything. Again, regarding grammar, as trivial as
you think, lack of it makes you incoherent here and there. But of course,
you're too dim to notice...
@MrMrMrBrooksashad Who said every day? I have never said every day. What
are you so against perhaps taking an X5 out to the mud once in a while? I
think buying such cars with extraordinary abilities (like Ferraris and
Hummers) and using them as mere daily drivers is like buying a mansion and
living only in the kitchen.
@noordwinter wait why is it built in canada isntead of states? is it
becuase the german counterparts? yeah the 300/charger are derived from a
mercedes e class chasis and mehcnaics if im not correct! i love bmw, and
euro cars but you gotta admid chryslers line up is lookin better and better!
@MrMrMrBrooksashad Idiot. I make perfect sense. Your inability to
understand my words is not my fault, but yours. You call me stupid and tell
me that your comment wasn't a diss? Do you get called 'stupid' often enough
to think it's a compliment?
@MrMrMrBrooksashad You moron. Why wouldn't you go off-roading in an X5? If
you can afford one, there's no reason to be a huge vagina and worry about
dents here and there. Seriously, you should work on your apostrophes. Go
ask a first grader.
@Penisbaby101 If that's what you think, then you need to check out the
other video of the this car. This car is a real car, it does not cost a
grand like your yours. Stop becoming an ignorant, arrogant, stereotyping
troll please.
It's rather funny than insulting when a moron tries to insult your
intelligence. How deluded do you have to be to call someone a dumbass when
you yourself lack skills and abilities taught in your single-digit years?
@jjchargerboy16 The thing is, H2s look pretty retarded with them. Ride
comfort and off-roading goes out the window. Then again, the typical
badly-endowed H2 owner probably never has his "baby" leave asphalt...
