Samsung Stratosphere Review
PhoneArena reviews the Samsung Stratosphere. We've seen Verizon release quite a few 4G LTE Android smartphones over the past couple of months, but ...
I see a lot of people that are interested in getting this phone, even now
in 2013. Short and sweet: don't do it. I had this device for 2 years, and
it was ok at first. However, after about a year the lag on the device
rendered it completely unuseable. If you're gonna get a phone in 2013, make
sure it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or higher. Anything less and you're
gonna be sorry about a year into owning it.
Your voice makes me want to cut myself. Why do you have to make everything
on this phone seem like shit. The browser stutters, there's only 5
homescreens, it drops the 4g connection, wow, might you not have good 4g
coverage? Dude It's been great for me.
Worst phone EVER. I have this phone currently and it doesn't charge
correctly and it doesn't work correctly while charging either. I would just
wait until a new Samsung phone comes out. :l
Appreciate you showing the rear cover removal; was trying to find an LTE
phone, android, slider that has a replaceable battery because I carry an
extra when possible.
@eVerlastingTenrai Theyre not invidual pixels. Its just a disortion the
camera creates. It has an 800x480 resolution so the invidual pixels are
actually really small.
I hate the leather soft feel on phones like this, I prefer the plastic
Samsung had.

We unbox the new Motorola Devour for Verizon. The Devour runs Android 1.6 with Motoblur. The case is made of aluminum and has a full qwerty slide-out ...
I have an Motorola Blur Verizon and i am following the directions the video
is telling me but the only thing i am doing different is that i have the
phone on the charger while i am following the directions
@xXxAdDiSoNxXx680 you should check Verizon stores in your area as that can
vary quite a bit depending on where you buy it and at Verizon or Best Buy
or any number of places.
@HeliumSkateboarding THe devour is not bad, but the Incredible is leaps
above both the Droid and Devour. If you have to have a keyboard I would go
for the Droid.
A video review of the Samsung Stratosphere Android smartphone on Verizon. The Stratosphere is the first 4G LTE phone to have a full slide out QWERTY ...
@deadpeopleseer HTC and Samsung are different companies. HSPA+ theoretical
speeds 42Mbps DL and 23 Mbps UL.LTE theoretical peak data rates of 300Mbps
DL and 75 Mbps UL. And in the real world HSPA+ is slower. The shift has a
800 MHz Qualcomm processor while the this Samsung has a 1GHz Hummingbird
they have different processors. The shift ships with 4g total memory, the
Samsung ships with 8. The screen is also larger on the Samsung. They do
however both run 2.3 and they have the same form factor.
Of course you can play games and run everything smoothly with a
singlecore... In Android phones you get practically no use out of dualcore
cpus until now. This may change with ICS but we'll have to see. Its just
one of these marketing features. You dont really need them but people wont
buy phones anymore without dualcore because they were made believe that
they need them. So everyone is putting them into their phones :) I'm still
very happy with my 1ghz singlecore phone. Everything smooth...
I agree with everyone in the top comments. Even though I'm quite satisfied
with my current device, I still enjoy watching all of your reviews. I learn
more about technology that way, so that when I DO end up getting a new
device, I'll know what to look for. Keep up the great videos! P.S. I'm
hoping to hear something about the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime when it
comes out 'cause I plan on getting it.
Dear Lisa, I love your video, but it is pain for me to see you trying to
tap the full screen button for flash on a small screen. So here's a tip: If
you press and hold the flash video, it gives you bigger version of full
screen icon for you to press on. You review a lot of phones and do the
flash test for almost all of them and this is going to help you so much in
my opinion ;)
So, currently im about to upgrade my Verizon phone...and I have a friend
who keeps telling me to go 4G and get this phone. When it comes to a phone
I use it mainly for calling and sometimes texting...but i might get an app
or two. I was thinking either this or the HTC Droid Incredible 2. Which
would you prefer?
why is it at apple was sued for saying their tablet was 4g but they got
sued cause in a certain country it couldnt be used as 4g and was called
false advertsing i dont like apple. but when a phone or tablet is
advertised as having 16 gb of storage when in reality its not 16 but they
arent sued over that
Hey Lisa, I'm have a Upgrade on Verizon & I don't know which one to pick
Motorola Droid X2 or this phone..I know that the speeds are going to be
faster since it's 4G but the Motorola Droid X2 looks nice, I Know you have
test the 2 phones which one would you pick, over all around?
Too much playing of videos and not enough using the other features....
like, the keyboard.... why not open that note pad and tap out a line or
two.... and the camera.... snap a quick photo so we can see shutter lag and
such (this takes just a few seconds)
@denisrenelara No body would want it, there is a light scracth across the
screen. The silver frame like the samsung is all warn down to pastic. It's
about 3 years old running a 528mhz cpu, does everything you possibly need,
but very slow.
@MobileTechReview hey lisa ,i was thinking of going to at&t because my
contract ended with t-mobile but i wanna know would verizon give you better
connection then at&t in at&t i wanted an atrix 2 but which carrier you
prefer
all smartphones (android, iphone, windows, etc.) has access to wifi and
they all have a browser. So yes you can use internet with android phones,
but if you do not have unlimited I would recommend using wifi all the time
Alright there is the lg enlighten and this phone. My mom says this phone is
a little bit pricy, but if anyone could give me a 50 dollar discount she
said i could get this phone. Does anyone have a discount for me?
@coffeeandsugar20 I still have the review unit and am using it so I can
write our full written review on MobileTechReview. It's certainly not as
zippy as the faster dual core Android phones.
@ItsTimeShine stratosphere is awesome but if your a big gamer dont get
android unless you want to wait for updates on your favorite games but all
together this phone is beautiful and fast.
Hey there MobileTechReview I do have a question due to the stratosphere :
can you use your fingernail to navigate through the the or are you forced
to use your fingertip like the iphone ?
hi, i have the samsung epic 4g and its a little slow. and im interested in
getting this phone. is it worth upgrading to get this phone? and is this
phone bigger than the epic in size?
@vatoaaron The Stratosphere will be faster for data and downloads, but it
won't be lots faster in terms of CPU speed. It is not bigger than the Epic
4G.
Dang, still looking a replacement for my HTC Pro2, this guy is a good
condender. Alnost looks identical. Kebaord hopefuly as good as HTC's famous
KB.

Well I don't know man it wasn't only the software, it was also the screen resolution, it seemed like the phone didn't know how to differentiate between reds, orange, and yellows so the graphics system just said fuck it everything is yellow. It was super heavy and froze all the time.
