+Frank Salinas 8k-10k is useless anything above 6k is just color and losing visibility. 43k-5k is the way to go or 5500k from morimoto if u want best hid output from halogen based projector. Would be best to get full retrofit and really enjoy the output from xenon projectors vs halogens with hid bulb
Good way to do that but you don't really need to remove the entire
headlight beam to do the job !! Imagine all these customers from subaru who
remove the bumper for changing the normal halogen bulb ??? Maybe you remove
the entire bumper only to hide the balast ?
+MGK Frankk - True... you don't have to remove the bumper, but the guy who owned the car wanted to ballasts mounted behind the bumper. Personally, I'd mount them under the hood for easy access in case you had to change parts.
+Chad Baldwin - They were not necessary for the +HIDeXtra kit. A relay kit does add a level of safety and performance to the kit, but it's not necessary for them to function.
+awdrifter3 Good on you the 55W aren't worth the hassle unless you don't mind using a relay to power them with there own heavy gauge wire from the battery
LOL!!! The accelerated video speed made me dizzy, but thanks for posting
this. I got a set of VVME 55w slim digitals @ 5000K about a month ago, and
I love it. I also ordered a set of cheap china 55w 3000K for my fogs, but 1
of the lamps failed within 24 hours of install, so I have to order a set of
replacement lamps. I also ordered 6000K to replace the 5000K. Not satisfied
with the color output. With 55w temperature dropped to roughly 4300K or
same as the halogen bulb.
Not long usually within 14 days from ordering to delivery. It also depends on where you live I live on the east coast so it comes from China most the time of its a kit. I would call Ddm to find out something it's back ordered and that can take a long time.
I got 2011 Ford Edge Limited
and I'm confused between 35W n 55W with 6000K !!!
1-Which ones is more bright and really strong that can blind the people
right away?! lol
2-which one can be more hott and what the bad things will happen to it or
to my car?!
3-Do you have any advice for me like if I chose 35W or 55W?! Or anything ?
Thanks man for this video .
Do not listen to Brown Man; he clearly has no idea what he is talking about.Your Ford edge comes with projector headlights meant for halogen light but could be use for HID although it is not ideal; best thing to do is a proper retrofit. Of course the higher the wattage the brighter the light will be but keep in mind that 90% of the quality HID maker ie TRS, Xenondepot, Hella, Philips, Osram does not make ballast above 35W so most of the places selling you 55W, 60W and up ballast are pretty much junk plus a higher wattage ballast will affect your bulb by rubbing some of its color and life span. To answer your questions; 1. If you go with 6000K for the bulb which is suppose to be a pure white with a tint of blue with a 35W ballast. Now if we were to switch it to a 55W ballast the color will pretty much drop it 1000K most or less but it'll look pure white. 2. The higher wattage will get hotter so 55w will be hotter than 60w and etc etc. Higher temperature is bad because your headlight is a small amount of space and the head could potentially melt your house or worse; high wattage could melt the electrical wiring on the vehicle. 3. My best advice to you is this; If you're going to install HID in any vehicle please make sure it does not have reflector housing; purchase from a quality reputable maker such as Xenondepot or TRS which carries a higher price tag but I've wasted enough money on cheap chinese HID kit to warn you not to do the same. Pick a 35W which is plenty bright enough and stick to the color range of 4300K *OEM to max of 6000K .
+Brown man I would disagree with you right away; the wattage doesn't determine if it is bright enough to blind someone but more how the light beam is patterned. Even 35w HID placed in a Halogen reflector housing depending on how its angled can blind everyone a mile down the road.
I would say go with 60W since there would be brighter output and no usually 60W isn't bright enough to blind people and about the heat generation its not much if you get xenon. Nothing bad will happen to your car, I have 65W 6000k for my car and it is a beaut. Hope this helps
Did you have a problem with cut off? I've been curious about how it is
perceived in other people's car and whether or not it 'dazzles' them. I'm
just starting to research HID/XENON and learned that there are projectors
then there are HID projectors which without them may cause light to bleed
out.
I'm driving a 2014 Forte5, for the record.
No. Since it was in a projector the cutoff was pretty sharp and I had driven behind my friends before and they told me it looks like other hids with projectors so no glare.
i bought them and they have very very slight hint of blue when warmed up, they look white if you're standing in front of them however they looked blue-ish in reflections and on camera
