padding speeds up the game. It stops the player from having to slow down to
make the tackle like in rugby to instead fly through them. Thts the
difference, rugby is tackling while football is hits. Every rugby fan
brings up the padding but they forget that it also removes the natural
response that all players have (including rugby) which is "oh shit im
runing full speed at someone, i should slow down" instead it becomes.."fuck
it".. now the bigger question..why hate? dont like it? dont watch it.
I disagree. The injuries would drop. reason being that players would no
longer launch themselves at each other. Theyd do it once, realizes how much
it hurts and finally go back to wrap up and drive to the ground type
tackles that they teach you from day 1. Thats the real way to drop all
these injures, not all these new bull shit rules. Unfortunately for the
players slowing the game down would lower the entertainment of the game,
thus lowering the income for the NFL and the players.
Rugby players don't always slow down when they have to make a tackle, it's
just common sense not to waste your energy when you're continuously playing
a high intensity game for 80 minutes straight. Football players lack
endurance because it's short bursts of play throughout 15 minute quarters
and even still there are attacking and defensive teams so players don't
need to do as much.
Injuries are nothing new to the NFL. People get hurt all the time and no
matter what rules you put in, they will happen. Players are signed up to
play a physical game, not two hand touch. They get paid more than any other
occupation to put their bodies on the line. Bottom line is it is way more
exciting to watch people throw themselves at each other than just wrap them
up.
Why is this so shocking to you it broke your caps lock? Why are you not
asking why CFL only uses 3 downs? Or why the posts are on the goal line? Or
why receivers can be moving at the snap? No, it's the deep end zones that
bother you for some reason? Answer is.....because it's a different league
and don't have to arbitrarily go by NFL rules.
Rugby hits aren't nearly as big as football hits if you look at highlights
of them, especially in the NFL. Padding is to protect from serious injury
but it happens regardless. If there was no padding in american football
people would become paraylzed on some hits.
Yep, totally agree. The initial point of the block was the side/shoulder
region. Even if the contact that caused the red and white player to "be
blocked" was in the back, as the initial contact was the side/shoulder
region it is not a block in the back. Good play
That is highly unlikely. American and Canada are the only ones who play
that kind of football. You think people would rather watch a sport they
will never play like american football than a sport like hockey which the
majority of countries play? Solid logic...
Es fútbol canadiense. Se parece al fútbol americano, pero con algunas
ligeras diferencias: tamaño de balón, solo hay tres downs, y el número de
jugadores en campo. Juegan los Saskatchewan Roughriders (verde) y los
British Columbia Lions (blanco y rojo)
That's the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard. No shit more people
will watch the Superbowl, There almost 10 times as many people in the US as
there are in Canada. I'd tell you to use your fucking brain, but that's
obviously too much to ask from you.
You got the shoulder part right, the BACK of his shoulder. Just because a
blocker makes impact from the defenders right side, and not directly in the
center of the man's back, doesn't mean that it's still not a block in the
back.
Or getting a point for touchbacks/missed field goals. Or the yard offset
between the O-lines and D-lines. Or the 3 minute warning. Or the 12 men on
the field. Etc etc etc. But no, freak out over the SURPRISING 20 yard end
zones...
If padding makes it hurt more it obviously it isn't doing it's job.
American footballers would be scared to do most of the tackles they do if
they didn't have padding, rugby players do it regardless (within the rules
of course).
Sorry just looking back at this and still cannot believe how dumb that is.
If you take America out of the equation, only Canada would watch the
Superbowl. The Superbowl barely gets airtime on sportscentre in Europe.
The icing on the cake is the crying in these comments! If you look real
close a BC Lion had his shoelace untied, therefore the down should be
replayed, well in the NoFunLeague it would be anyways
sooooooooo no one is going to say anything about the kicker being held at
the end? the kicker turns and you can literally see his jersey is pulled
around. that my friends shouldve been holding.
That is not validating your point at all. Padding makes it hurt more so how
would they need to harder up? Rugby is just a bunch of guys in short shorts
grabbing each others nuts.
Although I don't think that the block was necessarily illegal (It was
close) I want to point out Glenn Suitor is the BIGGEST Rider Lover there is
next to Rod and Carm..
Sure, the guy with the ball gets the glory, but what about the blockers? If
it wasn't for them, he wouldn't have got past the opposition's 20 yard line
at best
if you take america aside..More people WORLDWIDE Would rather watch the
superbowl....Your just made because Canada Blows At Football..Enjoy Your
Hockey!
they have an extra 10 yeards in the middle of the pitch that they dont have
in NFL so its a 110 yard pitch plus a bigger endzone
Ruth Coppinger TD: How much will water charges really cost?
Ruth Coppinger TD questions the energy regulator on their figures for water usage which underestimate how much a person uses per day and will result in ...
So let me get this right they have asked Irish Water to give then data on
water consumption and this figure have then been used to placate the
concerns of people about how much they will pay for water per the cap being
lifted. Am I being cynical to think that Irish water after the cap is
lifted will come out with a story saying we might have got it wrong?
The Allowances were on the cards initially - and there were many figures bandied about then changed - i.e. the Allowances were reduced significantly after the May elections...! - but it doesn't matter at all now - the Caps are simply a replacement for the allowances and they will disappear as the allowances would have disappeared a few years down the line - the objective of both is to get us to Accept we have to pay by volume of consumption for water - based on a huge Hoax - which is that we need to Conserve Water....!
