if i overeheat my xbox, can i send it in for repairs?
PS4 & Xbox One Overheating? Should You Wait to Buy a Next Gen Console?
VGN News Update: New info regarding rumors of the PS4 & Xbox One overheating. I also address a users question about whether they should wait to buy a ...
I would say it is a good idea to wait and see about them i mean my self im
getting a ps4 like the weekend it comes out but i've never had any problems
with any playstation over heating so i highly doubt that it will be a
problem as for xbox who knows i mean we could have another redring type
deal on our hands or someother problems who knows but in recent years
microsoft has kinda made a rep for itself in the ways of haveing heating
problems hopefully they got their shit together but if they didn
I mean youve gotta be slow to no expect to have problems after buying these
consoles on release. We've seen both companies going crazy switching,
adding and removing things at the last minute. Plus needing a freaking
patch in order for the base features to be usable should the only reason
you need to wait. So yes, of course you should wait before buying either of
these consoles and watch the problems and glitches pile up while u do. By
the time things die down the prices might be lower. :)
I don't believe you it looks like it got ran over so its really compressed
when something is squished down to that size theres thing we must take into
consideration theres no space in the box because it was hammered by a 12
year old or ran over by a truck that's why its gonna overheat its like if
me and you and 1500 thousand guys were stuck in a freezer wegged in so
tight so compact that the fans could not CIRCULATE AIR we would probably
heat that bitch up.. shut your mouth
I dont know much about the playstation but as far as the xbox one
overheating i really cant see this happening, I think microsoft learned a
lesson from the 360s overheating problems im pretty sure they would not
want this to happen again as they spent alot of money repairing 360s i dont
think there gonna be stupid enough to let these problems reoccur on the
xbox one im sure the fan is better and there are a lot more vents then its
predecessor. Well i hope so anyways!
the only problem I see is you knocking on my front door you mother fucker
came 7 years after my 360 came out you fucking piece of shit acting all
childish when you see my controller like that shit was space jam listen man
don't fucking repeat this shit don't come knocking on my door every 25 mins
trying to play my box nigga that shit will do you in quick you understand
ill fucking choke you with my cords this time wont be the same you
understand?
You are internet flexin like I give shit about a player 2 ass nigga like
you. Nobody's gonna be knocking on your door but the UPS man asking "What
brown can do for you" after they pick up your glitchy buggy console because
your lame ass is too dumb to realize that both these companies are
scrambling with unfinished products. If you're smart you will wait a couple
months to make sure that everything is good before dishing out all those
hundreds.
I got a ps4. I had an xbox 360 but I trust sonys ps4 with specs games and
the heating thing is not a problem cuz Sony builds quality devuces as in
consoles dvd players mpes phones tvs ect. Their known for that. But in the
other hand so is microsoft with laptops ect so either ine should be a great
console it just depends where your friends will be at either on xbox live
or play station network. And also on the games your into :)
PC gamers should consider whether they should get next gen at all. However
I'll probably get a PS4 at like mid/end of 2014, maybe 2015 even, a lot of
the cool next gen games are also available on my stronger PC, and a lot of
the next gen games don't look that much better (if you're used to PC
gaming) right now because they likely haven't figured out how to get a good
utilization of the console's hardware yet.
DRANGON help !!! I recently bought Battlefield 4 on the XBOX360 and was
playing through the Campaign mode. I was able to play through 7 missions of
the campaign and decided I needed to take a break, so I quit out of my
game. When I boot the game back up, all my progress on Campaign is lost and
it brings me back to the "Select Difficulty" screen.
Wait a year for them to work out the bugs. Most of the first games usually
suck or end up being a big let down (Lair) with the exception of a few
gems. get BF4 on the PC and wait at least 6-8 months before buying the new
system. I still have plenty of PS3 games I haven't played yet, I can wait a
little longer to make sure I get a solid console.
i would wait until 2014 for next gen, i mean why not just wait a little bit
longer? you have been using current gen for years why rush for next gen?
its not like your gonna miss anything, there will definitely be bugs for
both systems and some big games have already been delayed into 2014.
have you played BF4 on the next gen console or PC yet? If not don't talk
rubbish... BF4 was not designed for current gen consoles....... I have
played both cod (rubbish) and bf4.... both are an improvement on there
previous games but we have not seen them on the next gen yet!!!!!
im scared for the ps4 to be honest its sooooooooo small and I know people
are gonna send me hate comments but 4real that's a whole lot of power for a
little case with no power brick that's a lot of heat inside the machine how
small is the ps4 mini gonna be lol
he has played it on pc he is playing it on pc in this video you really
think that a xbox/ps3 could have sixty people no pc does that only next gen
xbox and ps4 can do that and he did not call it rubbish people have not him
so stop your complaining.
@FutureJarHead16 Bro, have you even played battlefield 4? You obviously
haven't... Buildings toppling over, dams falling apart, destroyer ships
crashing into shores, etc. How, in any logical reasoning, is that like cod?
Levolution is NOT a gimmick.
Personally I think MS and Sony will have put a LOT of work into testing
their new console after the RROD and YLOD issues they had last gen, granted
RROD was a lot worse but both had overheating issues and really won't want
to have them again.
Nice video. I trust that ps4 will run ok. I don't trust the shitbox at all.
I barely used my slim and the disc tray is stuck. Happened just as I was
going to sell it. I'm buying the cable box myself so I'm just going to get
warranty...
All products have their issues. I went thru one a piece. Got RROD on xbox
after a couple years no problem afterwards. My PS3 froze the day FF13 came
out with my disc in it and never worked again, luckily I had warranty for
that.
I understand, I have friends whom went through 5 xbox's. If I went through
all that trouble as well I would shy off of MS also. I will be getting the
PS4 though, hopefully it will be the station to have this gaming season.
Yes I have played BF4 on the Pc. Its more of the same with a gimmick that
gets old after the first time you see it. It has slight changes like the
CoD series. Sure its a good game, but heh, don't act like its changed much.
I've preordered my Xbone - hoping any (hardware) issues are identified
quickly or occur within warranty. I'm also on my 2nd 360 after the first
one RROD. I'm going with Andrew Pearson on this - more fun to jump right in!
I had a pre order in for the Xbox one and it was due for release in the UK
on my birthday. So it was going to be like being a kid again getting
excited. But I've decided to wait just in case.
I'm getting my PS4 with a 3 year warranty even thou I might not need it. I
still have my fat PS3 and still runs like a champ. Can't say the same for
my Xbox 360.. Got it replaced 4 times
Just be sure when you buy a next gen console, buy a good and lengthy
warranty especially from GameStop so you can simply take it to GameStop and
have them give you another new console
ive only had an xbox for 3 years and its alrdy crap, its slow, overheats
like every few hours? is this suppose to happen? I don't play 24/7 on my
xbox so I don't kno why it runs fine
I have had my PS4 since November 2013, and i noticed it does get really hot
and the framerates arent entirely stable. It got up to 118 degrees F while
playing Infamous
I have a 7 year old Xbox 360 and I've yet to send mine in to Microsoft and
get a repair. I've got confidence in Microsoft to not totally shit the bed
with the Xbox One.
Also here's a new challenge: The Xbox One challenge. Keep your xbox one on
for 10 years straight. Also make sure to play games and apps as much as you
can.
New Xbox Experience (NXE) causing console to overheat
I just got the update this morning and now my xbox 360 is screwed up. Its over heating (2 red rings) WTF M$! BTW it happens to all the games i've tried. It even ...
This is not surprising at all. Microsoft always throws something out there
before its done. Always thinking about the money and not the people that
buy this console. The only part that confuses me are the people that back
this system up. This system has a higher failure rate then anything put on
the market. Yet you guys keep claiming its "the best system" out there.
I've known people that had the xbox fail 3 times! 3 TIMES! Its just
amazing. You guys are either hard headed or fuckin retarted.
Microsoft has stated many, many times that the NXE REQUIRES a memory stick
or hard-drive to install. That's why they were offering USB memory card for
free and offering hard-drives at a discount to people who don't own a
storage device. Unless you somehow exempted this requirement, the NXE is
almost certainly stored on your hard-drive. The old one booted because it
fit on the system's tiny amount of flash memory. The flash memory by itself
shouldn't definitely not be enough to store the NXE.
no offense guys but yer playing with the big boys now (pc gamers) ive been
a pc gamer for 12 years , i have a 360 and i can tell you it gathers dust
faster than my vax hoover, i open my xbox once a week wich takes 5 mins and
a t10 torq fitting easy too easy to be honest and i clean that bad boy out
have been doing that for 4 years and never had any issues i run it 24/7
streamin music films or pissin around on bfbc2 with my m8s its common sense
that seems to slip over the heads of a few :S
My 360 would not even play games or dvd's right after I downloaded NXE.
It's not your console, it's NXE. Worked perfect before. Won't play games
after. Bill Gates can't sell computers right now so he is going after folks
like us to make it up. You know, so go BUY another or get grandma too. And
it's their new program forcing you now to spend money you don't have. I
don't, I just spent $200 on brand new games. I now can't play I probably
going to call an attorney now.
You realize that the problems with the NXE are in the minority.. it does
happen to some, but to most that I've seen, they've had no problems. But
it's expected with software updates.. ANYTHING you update with software has
a chance of breaking down.. and I mean anything. When Version update 2.51
came out on the PS3, there were like hundreds to thousands of people having
their consoles bricked, HDD's wiped, Disc drives malfunction etc. It just
happens.
Lol at all the Sony fanboys. I doubt it's the NXE doing that particular
thing. I hope you have a return policy or protection plan something like
that (the exact name of it escapes me for some reason), because your
console is defective. To admit, I've had a pretty much flawless experience
with the NXE, except for the fact that it feels less familiar. Although I
am on my 3rd console. Funny thing is though, I've never had RROD. lucky
me...
Here is the deal I have a Xbox 360 and a PS3 My xbox did what yours is
going to do it would be called E74 and then you are done. I called xbox as
I have 31 games and the new guitar hero not even opened with three other
new games that my wife got me for xmas. Xbox told me to buy games for my
PS3 as they would not help me. They want me to pay them $100 to fix this
shit the dame things are only $187 at walmart new. I am done with 360.
At first I was going to post and say that you should get a miniature fan or
something to cool it off. When you closed in and it sounded like a
god-damned vacuum cleaner, however, I guessed that it was a LITTLE more
than a ventilation problem. Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it. That
COULD fix your problems. If not, I also recommend clearing your cache (and
maybe a fan so it doesn't catch fire or something).
not sure what you mean by its still crashing when the game wasn't in. Are
you playing the game without the disc? Even if its installed on the HDD you
still have to have to disc in the tray to verify you own the acutal disc.
It could be the game you bought is a bad copy. Remember the game doesn't
acutally "install" to your HDD it copys the files that are on the disc. (if
that makes any sense)
you do realize that the NXE dash (any dash for that matter) is stored on
the xbox internal flash memory right? it doesn't matter if you remove your
HDD or not its still going to boot the dash. why do you think the old one
booted with or without the HDD? and you CANNOT removed the dash from your
HDD because it isn't there. If it was that simple I would have done it.
Look kid, they don't load the "exact speed" (which I'm assuming meant the
"same exact speed" as eachother), there's been multiple videos on the
internet of loading time comparisons between PS3 and 360 games, one being
Portal. By the way your pathetic assumption that I'm a little kid nulls any
chance you might of had at actually convincing me you have a point.
it does it without the HDD as well. I called M$ and they told me the new
update is making the console work faster causing it to overheat. They were
gonna set me up for repair but luckly I bought the extended warranty from
best buy. she told me my warranty from M$ expires on dec 12th. with means
my extended warranty is still in effect.
Xboxs CS sucks balls they don't care how much you spend they made a product
that was shit they put it out anyway and now people like me and you have to
pay out the ass to keep it working. I like 360 more when the fucking thing
works. BUt they do not work and PS3 did not fail me yet if that die's I
will say both suck.
i just got fable 2 yesterday after installing the nxe, and as soon as i
played up to the bandits camp place and fight in the arena (room 5), my
screen freezes but no red rings :/ then i switch on and off and i only have
time to sign in to live and then it does the same thing again, but with no
red rings :/ wtf
Get a Playstation 3 u get a Reliable system, FREE online, Playstation home,
MetalGearSolid 4, Resistance 2, LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM Confrontation, Motor
Storm 2, Internet browser, WarHawk, uncharted crakes fourntoune, a Blu-Ray
player, 80GB, wi-fi included, KILLZONE 2, and much much more!!! BUY a PS3!!
i hate when people talk about ps3 vs xbox i don't care about it i only care
about playing i have a xbox and i am happy cuz i have 25 games to play with
in my room and yeah i somtimes get the RROD but it was only 2 times cuz
kids were playing with the wires........but i am still happy
Why do fanboys always claim that the person they're arguing with has their
mothers buy consoles for them? Do some research, PS3 blu-ray does spin at
2x, games like MGS4 would take literally hours to load if you weren't
required to install parts of the game code on your console.
Start your 360 with the hard-drive removed (or whatever you stored NXE on).
It should boot to the old blades style. Put your hard-drive back. Remove
the NXE from your hard-drive. If that doesn't work, then I may have one or
two more suggestions. Try that first, though.
i got both xbox and ps3, (same xbox u had/hav) and mine did the same shit
(b4 NXE) traded that badboy in lol, got the cash and bought some more ps3
games :S, HOME IS OUT 2DAY, so spend some time on that while ure xbox makes
a recovery ;) GOOD LUCK MAN
my xbox360 works fine and i have a 3yr warranty. all the new ones come with
it. so this video doesn't scare me. i rather have a buggy 360 then a
ps3(which still has it's own problems) anyway. the ps3 would be useless to
me.
it's crashing on the dashboard i mean, and i havnt installed any games.
there's a video about the "checkered flag" screen after installing the NXE,
that's what i'm getting. sadly, i cant provide a link in comments
madtweak's already got a PS3, 3 weeks ago actually. matter of fact, i gave
him the heads up on wal-mart's special. the dude's a BUSTA tho!!! LOL J/K
Tweaked...btw that makes it, what, your 4th Box you been thru?
man,i always thought strange this thing of instaling the game on the HD of
the console, and i got the NXE,but i didnt instaled tha games at the HD,i
was going to do it,but now that i saw this vid,no fraking way
That's because blu-ray discs spin at only 2x while playing, that's the same
speed the 360's disc drive idles at. Hence why it takes for fucking ever to
load games/install game parts on to the PS3 HDD.
Fubbarr did you miss the ps3 right next to his 360? lol He's using
composite cables though.. yuck.Upgrade to HDMI, cables are only like 5
bucks online..unless that's a monitor you're playing on.
Yep i have both and right now i have to say Xbox 360 is my favorite PS3
doesn't have a lot of great features for chatting with your friends.
Hopefully that will change in the mere future.
New update sucks...i want my old dashboard back and screw the gay little
avatars. i have a cool badass theme and my little avatar just stands their
smiling at me. i want him dead.
my fuckin xbox wont show anything [ different colrs wen i turn it on] i can
hear it but to tell you the truth i cant see a damn thangg ive triedd
everything someone plz help me
Xbox 360 2 Red Lights Overheating How to Fix for Free temporarily!
This is what i call the simplest Poor Man's way to fixing your 2 red ring overheating xbox without paying a cent but placing an ordinary fan to keep it on life ...
dude, i'm having the exact same problem... did an xclamp fix and put in a
new fan... still, it allows me only to play for like 10 minutes... when you
play without your big fan on, it will crash due to overheating after a few
minutes, yes? then, would you please be so kind and try that again once
more and after a while (you do not even have to let it overheat), tell me
about the temperature of both heatsinks! with my 360, the one with the
"extended arm" is hot, the other one remains rather cool
dude disconnect everything from the motherboard, unscrew the motherboard
from the metal shell, take the heat sinks off clean the bottom of them,
then take all the excess thermal paste off then take a little bit of
rubbing alcohol and clean the gpu and the cpu till they have a mirror
finish, add new thermal paste on the chips not a lot just enough to cover
them completely. reassemble and bam! problem solved for about 5 bucks :)
Did you guys have to let the fan sit ontop of the xbox for awhile with it
turned on? I did this, put the fan onto the xbox, move the disc drive over,
and turned it on and still get the 2 rings. Should I let it sit with the
xbox on and the fan on? For some reason I dont think this has anything to
do with overheating hence i wasnt even playing it when it started doing
this...
The best way to do this is to get a external fan for a laptop computer,
(one that a laptop sits on top of) put the 360 on top of it sitting
horizontal, plug it into the usb port in the back. Even after gaming for
over an hour the 360 is still cool to the touch. It also looks better and
you don't need to open up the case. :)
I had my xbox in it's skeleton form just like that...welll infact mine
wasn't even in the metal shell, i had to take the mother board out and have
it all strewn across my tv stand because the screws I used on the x clamps
were bending the board when put all back together....lol but it workded for
me for about 6 months haha
Pretty good but don't waste your time taking it apart. All you have to do
Is remove the dust using an air compressor that what overheats it is the
dust because it gets hot quickly in the area where the dust is so if your
xbox cover doesn't feel hot but giving you the 2 red rings that's your
problem Hope this helps!
Whoever is hating::Regardless of its presentably-challenged flaw, this fix
will SOLVE your problems so take advantage and it for granted::ALSO, I am
thinking of making a followup video to answer questions.. Tell me if you
want me to keep making videos by::Subscribing or messaging or
something::Thank You
ya man i just got mine going to day just turned it on after like 6 months
and it gave me 3 red lights and so this is what i did, let it over heat its
self and let it sit for a while and turned it back on it gave me the 2 red
lights so i just stuck a fun on it and it works
@Sanveganz for sure dude. alot of the time people think its actually not
overheating but it actaully is, did u check the bottom of it? like the side
thats facing down when the xbox is sideways? im almost positive it has to
be overheating if it has 2 red lights tho
Dude thank you for this, I just played it for 2 hours no problem. And for
anyone who's system doesn't work from the start, just double bag ice and
put it on the heat sinks for awhile. Also make sure to use compressed air
to blow out any left over water
I put the heat sink in the freezer for a while n them I can use the xbox
for as long as I want to. Lately it's been turning on n off just fine. But
the fan is a very helpful idea. Thanks bro.
lol i have a better solution...get a new one? lol jk but i was actually
going to do this to my xbox cause the thing keeps overheating -_- and iv
thrown my xbox lol cause iv got so mad
Hey man I do have a question. How do I get the Xbox even open?? I'm not
much of a gamer so I don't really kno shit about an Xbox. But mine has the
2 rings. And I wanna fix it.
@macoque9gets3high nvmv i got it must say was alittle shocked to c it
worked but i think if we can find a way to have it stand up it will get
more circulation i'm work on it
@sadok yeah, but i might get the newer version, just in case mine gets Red
Ring again and im not able to fix it with this method lol. but its been
working good so far :)
Dude this works so fucking awesome!!! Before my Xbox would over heat in
under 2 minuets but I tried this And I played for 4 hours strait with no
problem. Thanks man
Sorry, but normaly how many x clamps is the xbox 360 supposed to have and
where are they located? In the back or both in front of the board? Thanks
in advance!
@mrlittman go ahead and look it up man, i dont think i can do as good as a
tutorital as the ppl on youtube, there are hella videos on youtube hope it
helps :)
my xbox gets the 2 red rings immediatly when i turn it on. Ive tried this
fan thing and cleaning everything out and it still doesnt work. Please help
me here
@sryans2004 I just turn on teh fan then turn on the xbox and it works, if
you still get the 2 red lights then sorry man, your xbox already got
overheated
