Black Friday Revolution? Wal-Mart Workers Plan Strike
After a century of strikes, work stoppages, and hard-fought negotiations to win the weekend and minimum wage, it might seem like the labor movement no longer ...
Some have, and they are replaced. Those who stayed just want to earn enough
money to support their families. Wal-mart is not a villain, they are doing
what most corporations do, make money, and that's a good thing. Wal-mart is
using the generosity of the tax-payers to support their employees with food
stamps and government subsidized housing. This gives Wal-mart a huge
advantage in the market. There is a compromise, it just needs to be asked
using the magic words "organized strike".
How about working for someone else if you don't like Wal-Mart policies?
Dumbasses. Collecting your pay all year, then staging some childish crap
like this on black friday is chicken shit. I will work on black friday, and
I will hate every minute of it. And at the end of the day, I'll be thankful
I have a job.
Lmfao! A racist? Most of these"protesters" don't even work for four
Wal-Mart. They work for the union and got bussed in from somewhere else. If
you don't like to work on thanksgiving get a different fucking job! If you
want to get paid more than 9 or 10 dollars an hour, get an education.
I thought i was the one who invented the black friday strike lol. Last year
i got several key employees at Abercrombie & Fitch (where i used to work)
to remove availability for black friday, the way the computer system worked
is that if we weren't available, they couldn't schedule us.
Even if they don't strike or the strike itself is a total bust, they have
achieved their main goal, awareness. Even if it only slightly improve
things it would be in Wal-Mart's best interest to avoid the strike due to
all the negative publicity.
