@DoubleAGroup You can activate it at home. But if you want to unlock it, well, you need to activate it anyways before you can run the unlock. So you will need the contract to get that done.

I have the identical case and CANNOT get it off as shown in the video. I had someone at the Apple store do it for me once, and hoped that it might loosen up over time, but I still can't get the darn thing off! I'm not a weakling, but find that it's very hard to get a good grip on the little bottom piece that's supposed to come off first. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

@Riiajanelle The "snap" version is only available through the Apple store. That is the model where the bottom part slides off and there's also a larger hole in the top. Your case should slide off easily. Do you have a screen protector or anything else attached directly to your iPhone? That could be what's causing it.
