Girlybunches Wool Yarn Winder Haul Review and How to Use
Hi Gang, Here is a short video on the Wool Winder that I recently purchased with my own money and has soon become my new best friend! It really is a great ...
I still love my ball winder. I got it on ebay the blue with the plastic and
it works just great. The other red one has a metal piece that hangs up the
yarn so I bought the other one. I think this is more for sock yarn and
light sport as it doesn't work on heavy yarn. You need a small inexpensive
scale so that you can divide your yarn at the half way point. I find all
kinds of excuses to play with my yarn winder but that's only me. The yarn
is always a few grams off, which is also a good reason for the little
scale.
+Patricia Tubb Totally addicted to mine, I went through my stash of oddments of yarn the other weekend.. I think I made about 50+, some for ebay and the rest shipped off to a charity who make blankets.. I think I've wound a super chunky on mine, with no problems,. happy winding! :) Thanks for watching
SOLD :-) I just got mine on EBAY FOR 8.99 INCL POSTAGE. You should get
commission for spromoting them as I loved the video and proved to me I
needed one asap thank you
I hope by now you have solved your problems. It takes a little time to line up the yarn in the slit on the top of the white winder and it doesn't take heavy yarn. I tried that and finished it by hand. I know the metal part is annoying as it keeps falling down but it takes a little time to learn how to use it. I put my thumb on the bottom of the metal stand, hold my thumb against it for tension and start cranking. Also do it slowly. Still love my ball winder and looking for another excuse to wind some yarn lol
+Sandra Lowe oh no, that is a shame you really have to pull hard on the metal arm to pull it out ward to make it stay out to keep the tension. You also have to hold the yarn and pull it fairly tightly, not so much that you stretch the yarn either. If you wind it too slowly it will sag down. I hope you get the knack of it :)
well it arrived and I am having the same problem as 24 carat in that the yarn holder keeps moving and catches on the spool part Ihave pulled it right out but it won't stay there. My wool balls are too loose and fall apart, it doesn't look anything like your wound ball of wool :-(
In this Video "Glama's Wool Yarn Winder Demo...It Really, Really Works!" I demonstrate how to use this Wool Winder...and just like the title of the video says.
Hi Glama, I just found your channel & I love you!!! Now for my
question...... I usually knit blankets using 2 or 3 strands of yarn at a
time. Have you ever tried to wind more than 1 skein of yarn together with
the yarn winder? I want to get a yarn winder to put my multiple skeins into
one skein. Thank you & Blessings, Theresa
I was so impressed with your video that I just ordered one from Amazon.com.
It cost me 16.50 USD. Thank you for your video. I have so much yarn in my
closet that needs organizing, I thought that this would be a great
investment. My next step is to check out your web-page. Thanks again. Your
husband is a lucky man to have such a lovely wife and crafty too!
+Daniel Lamb Thank you so much for watching my video and You're Welcome Daniel...I'm glad you found this video Helpful, The Yarn Winder is Definitely A Yarn Storage Space Saver. Since filming this...I now roll up the yarn label and stick in the center of the yarn cake, and I do not use the Center Pull Method of the yarn cake...I use the yarn from the outside of the cake, because when using the Center Pull it tends to Implode as the cake gets smaller. Using the outside yarn works perfect...it just becomes a smaller yarn cake but stay standing nicely. I hope you have subscribed and become a member of My YouTube Crochet GlamFam.My Husband says "Thank you, Yes I am A Lucky Man!"Lots of Love & Hugs,Glama
Where can I get hold of the bag? I'm from the UK. I'm in need of storage
ideas for all my wool :) and this device is great, had mine for awhile now

Hi Glama, I purchased one of these and had a question, the little metal
yarn pole doesn't lock in place? It wobbles, should I send it back? This
must be a defect because the directions say to pull it all the way out and
lock in place but this one doesn't lock correctly, is yours loose when
winding the yarn? Help!
Okay, never mind, I just figured out that you must turn the handle clockwise, this helped keep it secure, it does work, but needs to be watched carefully or it can tangle up underneath!
Oh, I always thought these were for making yarn balls to store. Will it
strech all types of yarn or just certain type of fibers? I don't own one
(yet) but I thought it would be good to know how to use one. Looks easy and
nifty!
:-D Good question. It will stretch natural fibers more than synthetics so if you have cotton, wool, silk or bamboo I would recommend winding then right before use. Acrylics don't stretch out of shape as much so they are fine to wind if you'd like. :)

+Ingrid LeeIt's still the same I'm using Firefox, It's a browser glitch. I just tried it in IE browser and it works fine. My daughter and I are making Bobbin Lace Bookworms at the moment, I'll post them to //veeness-veeness.blogspot.com.au so you can see them. We thought we would make 100...but after 10...he'eh we will see how we go.
That's strange...I just checked the link on 2 browsers and it looks fine, try it as this link //ingridcreates.com/10-top-tips-about-embroidery-floss-and-threads/ You will only get to red a portion of the post, unless you sign in as a free member, but I don't think that's the issue there.I'm glad you like my work...I love bobbin lace too, but never tried it- Yet!
Hiya Ingrid, thankyou)) I visited your site, just wondering why it has a huge space at the top with nothing there until you scroll down almost a page? I'll bookmark you for later reference the silk embroidery is gorgeous. I'm playing with Bobbin lace at the moment once again...but my thread affair is pulling at my heart strings
