+thelasthallow yeah if you in the main highways withing the city limits if you go out to the surrounding county's forget that your on 3g.I went back to the note 3 im rocking lte out in the boonies. and hardly ever see 3g
60mbps sounds nice.but in reality we all know with Sprint, we will have to be very lucky to get good 4g speeds with it. I have Verizon and get on average 32mbps where I'm at.So seeing spark only put out intge 30s ... it's disappointing. If they guarantee over 60mbps.... im in. Otherwise it's another wiimax.
To add to everything I kinda said I looked up coverage for Georgia and it seems perfect . NO contracts NO BS leave when you want to and talk and surf at the same time!! I've had T-mobile before actually there were my first network and there awesome you should check out one of my videos of there speed tests eventually when I post them!
Just return the phone you look like you make good money pay the etf fee if
you have one and move to AT&T my friend I had the same issue with sprint on
my s5
I wipe my ass with data nobody wants to pay at&t and verizon $200 a month for one phone Netflix uses 2-3 GB an hour itself Just saying And t-mobiles coverage sucks
I feel your pain on this issue. I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Great
phone but cannot be on a phone call and on the internet network through
Sprint at the same time. Wifi and on a phone call is all good though. I
hope that someone finds a way around it.
I found that while there is no voice simultaneously with data, there is great data....so I've using Google Hangouts Dialer at times...its holds a call great even on 3G.
None of the new Sprint phones can do Simultaneous Spark data and voice at
the same time. As a matter of fact only Verizon has this feature and even
they just started rolling it out a year ago. At&t and T-Mobile drop down to
HSPA data or 3G data while on a call and they can do it because 3G voice
and data is built into old GSM technology. Those 2 companies aren't
actually using LTE and voice at the same time. You got the right
work-a-round with Voip calling for now. Sprint will have Voice over LTE
(VoLTE) on their next Generation of phones starting around mid 2015 way
before T-mobile and At&t get VoLTE. For now we are out of luck on
simultaneous voice and data on Spark phones but Sprint service and coverage
is growing super fast.
I have a iPhone 6 on T-Mobile and I'm able to use VOLTE.... Every time I make a phone call the LTE icon stays and I'm able to use the browser the same way as if I wasn't on a call
Sooner than later I hope...I just wish I had been I informed about this problem with SVDO before I bought a new phone.... Because my evo could have held out till they fixed the issues.
LTE Wireless Throwdown Showdown: Round 2
Find out who wins Round 2 of the LTE Wireless Throwdown Showdown between Straight Talk (AT&T), Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless all on LTE.
Area code 920...are you actually in Northern Wisconsin or are you in
Milwaukee?
I live in Milwaukee, and was therefore wondering about the overall coverage
throughout the city...wondering how often you are low on signal, etc.
+tommyh536 Northeastern Wisconsin - Neenah to be specific (in between Appleton and Oshkosh). It's a small city, so speeds are usually pretty good. I usually hover between 2-3 bars of LTE, but I still get pretty good speeds.
How can you tell whether or not you are on Spark? I have an iPhone 5s by
the way. I know that when you look up at the top left corner for iPhone it
says your carrier and then what strength you have.
Hello Peyton, I have a question, how far away you were from the tower?, by
the way which kind of contrat are you having right now with Sprint, are you
paying a lot money so you can get those speeds? In regular LTE which is the
maximun you have achieved? I would appreciate you could answer this quests,
thank you
Hi!1) I was about a half mile down the road from the tower; any further away and the Spark signal wouldn't have reached. 2) I'm not on a contract; I'm on the Family Share Pack, which allows for 20GB of data (3G, LTE, and Spark) for my family of six to share. The monthly bill costs around $200 for six lines. 3) There is no extra charge for LTE and Spark speeds. 4) Regular LTE usually maxes out around 30 Mbps down, and 12 Mbps up for me.
+Tommy Thompson Neenah, Wisconsin. It isn't officially a Sprint Spark city (according to Sprint's coverage map), but it's sporadic throughout the city.
Wow sprint sucks in Las Vegas I'm glad sprint gets those speeds elsewhere.
If I can find a tower that can get me 15 up and 2 down I'll be lucky. Spark
is supposed to be officially live here.
I'm not trying to be a jerk I'm only upset that sprint has been so bad. I know I could switch but the price is what's holding me back now that their network has slightly improved
You think I didn't realize I needed a compatible device. Sprint is a whole lot better out here in Vegas than it ever had been but compared to the competition it's garbage. I've traveled everywhere in Vegas doing speed tests and the highest I can score is 30 down and 10up. But most of the time it remains at 1 to 2 MB download speeds which is worse than most carriers 3g.sprint sucks but I do got to say it has improved.
You need a compatible device as well as the fact that "spark" or mainly the 2.5Ghz band doesn't travel very far from the tower and has a very hard time penetrating into buildings do to its high frequency
+Scruffy E yeah I have no spark where I live .but I guess I'm going to have to try this new project fi . I just traded the m9 nexus 6 . I don't know if its going to be better then sprint .will see when I get it
+Steven burmeister on android phone you can download a app called LTE discovery or just dial ##debug# click on LTE engineering. Just cause it shows that spinner on android phones doesnt mean you on spark. when you view that band it has to say band 41. if its says 25 or 26 thats NOT spark.
The speed test results, basically. Unfortunately, the iPhone doesn't have any special sign for Sprint Spark. Android phones will show a spinning sun when they are connected via Spark.
Sprint Nexus 5 on Spark
LG Nexus 5 in Miami FL running Kit-Kat 4.4.3 and Tri-Band enabled. I was about to switch to T-Mobile but after a week with these speeds, there's no way I'm ...
Sprint spark is only in a few states as far as I know, my state michigan
doesn't have it anywhere at all. And sprints regular 4g lte speeds are
terrible, average of 7 Mbps. On t-mobile I get 35 Mbps average on regular
lte, and they're upgrading their towers soon so 50% of people on 2g/edge
will be getting 4g lte. So the only advantage sprint had over t-mobile
(better coverage) will be gone, then sprint better start changing shit if
they don't wanna lose their customers to the much cheaper t-mobile.
+Mike Porter That's changing soon, they bought like 2 billion of 700mhz spectrum from verizon, and as long a you live in a bigger city you'll get good 4g lte coverage, of course up north you won't likely get service at all.
+ttwiitch twitch NYC is almost done replacing all the towers, average downloads at 40 to 55 MBS, & peaks at 60 to around 73 MBS.... The bill price & unlimited data are way better than T-Mobile & Verizon, Verizon's peak being 80 MBS but averaging 40 MBS & only 2 gbs of data suck's compared to sprint's, & let's not forget sprint doesn't have the building penetrating problem T-Mobile has... Sprint's 700 MHz band 12 lte will make rural coverage so much better. I think that the class 12 lte are all roamable no matter the network witch is great all in all
Sprint has more spectrum than Att and Verizon; combined! Lol, T-Mobile will be like a child when Sprint FULLY upgrade and expands. Problem is Sprint is ripping out the network for a new one, while everyone else is just patching up the current network.
+Letsgorightnowyoupuppet yes, it's a bit cheaper actually...where it gets REAL cheap is when you sign up for a contract plan, is half of what u pay for T-Mobile! My 1500Everything plan is unbeatable.
+Letsgorightnowyoupuppet each additional line is $10, not 9, not 7. Also, that's with 1GB of data...are YOU joking me, LOL?? Sprint's UNLIMITED is wayyy cheaper than this. I went to get my same plan on T-Mobile a month ago, (5 lines) and it was $402 from $264 that I pay now. Not to mention, only 1 of those lines was unlimited AND 1 line didn't get a new phone....lol ridiculous.
I agree, make sure you are on Sprint 2.5 Gigahertz spectrum for Spark.
Seems to be a really slow speed for their spark network. What city are you
located?
I'm in kind of a small city in Wisconsin. I've contacted Sprint support several times to confirm that that tower is upgraded to support Spark. I'll continue to drive around that tower in hope of getting better results.
I confirmed with the Sprint support team on Twitter that that tower was indeed Sprint Spark compatible. It could have been the time of day that I tried the test that lead to bad results.
The Sprint support team on Twitter told me that that tower is upgraded for Sprint Spark. I had a hard time believing that after this test. I should have checked what band I'm using.
Sprint IPhone 6 speed test in panorama city, Los Angeles 91402
wow thats pretty good. you are lucky as most of the US still has spotty
sprint 4G LTE and they claim its like 90% done.
are you able to get faster speeds outside? and around your area are the
speeds consistent?
trust me im not to thrilled at all i have to put my phone in a certain area just to get band 41... its really annoyng because they said i have spark all over my area but still get the slow lte ugh... so everyday for a month ive complained... so far i got a total of 80 bucks credited to me lmao... hope they fix your area soon
