I think that description of the segregation is terrible. Law 1, segregation
means that meiosis 1 will successfully separate homologous chromosomes and
each daughter gamete will get exactly one copy of the gene instead of 2 or
none. Law 2 just means that one gene going to a particular daughter gamete
will not normally affect where another gene goes (unless it's very close on
a chromosome). Sorry folks, don't know why I brought in the mono/di-hybrid
