Greece is the original democracy. It's responsible for its own government and the banks that operate in Greece. The Greeks brought this on themseves by being slack, lazy and corrupt. Mother Nature is now making them pay the price for living beyond their means, earning capacity and intelligence. They are weak and soft so they go on like stuck pigs. There best time was as slaves to the Romans. At least then they were of some use. Apart from continual whining, what do Greek's contribute to the world? What do they invent? The EU is passing laws deliberately to attack the Greek people because they are always first to rise against tyranny. For example, Olive oil from next year in all EU nations at restaurants must be served in in sealed bottles, WTF? REALLY? also people are not allowed to hang the Greek flag on their homes. Probably a measure demanded by "TROIKA" in order for another loan. The only way to beat this is for southern european nations to rise all together against the EU and return to their currencies.

When you have hard money "gold" or fixed money "euro", there is a shortage of wages and that is what chokes the economy from growth. People can make more people and labor, but the system cannot produce more gold to pay for it. In Greece the employers are saying NO. Then painting Greek labor as layabouts. Greece also has a runaway military budget for no good reason. They should dump the Euro, If business can't employ, then nationalize and gov't employ.

What the people need are jobs. Jobs that pay. Who provides those jobs ? This malaise and austerity is a ruse to divert attention away from the true engine of economy, LABOR. Even if a nation has no gold they have people. People make stuff or do stuff which is production. They get paid wages to exchange for other people's stuff. When employers (gov or other) fail to hire or pay, they cheat and starve the economy.

Greece is not losing money or jobs. The socialists who were elected are now reorganizing the economy in a way that is more fair to everyone. Businesses must exist under central control, "socialized" as it is called. Hence those workers will now have the pleasure of workiing for state-operated organizations instead of profiteering individuals. And, there really is no need for "money" per se, given that under socialism all the production is shared through a system of appropriate allocations instead of the crass commercialism of the market place. Greece wanted a socialist gov't. They elected one. They will soon have the joy of singing the internationale as they happily march off to the marvelous new factories and fields, knowing everyone will get their fair share. That's how it works in Venezuela and Cuba. And everyone knows how those countries are the envy of the world. Right?
