Samsung galaxy 3 I 5801 running Europe version of Android 2.2. FROYO. I found that the phone performed much better using Froyo than 2.1 eclair.. awesome....

i flashed using odin my 15801 from another video. my phone jump screen
still says 15801 :) . it kept all my data there but the samsung apps messed
up and forced closed (camera , music player, even someone ringing would
cause the phone to crash and hang up) do a full reset and now it runs
perfectly . sadly there is no flash for our phones but everything else like
Mobile AP (turn your phone into a wireless router) works flawless. phone
runs much better with 2.2

Ok.. Easy.. For trhose who are afraid of lags and contact loss... Get all
ur contacts saved on your sd card. Very simple u can figure it out. Then
upgrade with samsung kies. Then reformat. That means factory data reset. U
can find it in settings. And now u wait. Takes bout... Quite long. Dun
worry. Once u upgraded it(official), factory data reset will never change
it back to 2.1. Works in all samsung phone

Hey man i noticed that you opened Android Market with your mobile gprs
connection and then switched to wifi. But in my cellphone i am not able to
open the android market or any other app. which uses net services through
the mobile net connection. It loads with wifi only . Please Help.

@pmapma1 rooted it. Apparently i'm having an issue silencing calls. Can't

Technicaly it should be possible to run NFS Shift on galaxy 3. Even with
the low resolution. NFS Shift runs on a LG Optimus one, that is less than
Galaxy 3

I've also installed Cyanogen 6.1 Stable for the Aria, and that runs very
well. Only issue I had installing it was it was hanging at boot of the OS.
Found out by wipe/factory default was needed to install Cyanogen 6.1. Works
nice, as long as you don't mind lossing Sense.

The most important thing is to make sure Clockwork is installed on your
phone. That will make it so it's extremely difficult to brick your phone.
It makes it so you can hold the volume down and press power and it will
boot a recovery menu to restore your phones backup.

@Stefovolley1983 I purchased them on ebay. The only thing I don't like
about them is the bar that goes above the screen, sometimes makes it hard
to swipe down. How ever with CM6 or CM7 you can add a swipe down gesture
anywhere on the screen... not just at the top.

@rockrray If you decide to try, make sure you install ClockworkMod, that
will save you if it does "Brick". Hold volume down while turning phone on
will put you into recovery. Don't have clockwork, you cant do this.

Did a benchmark with my new CyanogenMod 7 (2.3 Gingerbread) on the HTC Aria

i have a question. every time i try to do this, when i click kies mini and
it finds update, it always stops at 60% every time I try to do it and tells
me i was disconnected from the internet (which i wasn't)... so i tried just
connecting my phone anyway just to see if it would do something and the
kies mini just kept saying to connect the phone even when its already
connected.... this is actually my husband's phone.. i have an iphone and
all i've ever had to do really is plug it in...i'm lost

Hola muy buen tutorial solo que en mi caso no reconoce la firmware, mi

igual, al final cuando conecto el cable usb sale la pantalla con el nombre

everytime i try doing it, keis mini says it failed pull your battery out
toreboot if the phone does not reboot do emergency ect. well it re boots
fine just cant get it to work. any ideas? i even tried turning the
debugging on and it did the same thing as soon as i hit upgrade. please

I know this is an old thread but,whydoes mine take forever (20-30 min) to
xdownload the firmware on my desktop then, when i go to upgrade phone it
says to take battery out or start emergency recovery? the desktop and kies
recognizes my phone and goes through the firmware process but wont upgrade

My Captivate's Baseband Version reads: JH7 not JF6... and the build number
reads: ECLAIR UCJH7... diffrent than what your video indicates it needs to

when you start your captivate up with 2.2 is the logo screen laggy? like is

After restarting Kies several times to get it to even detect that something
was being connected, it told me that my device 'is not supported by Kies
mini'. I'm on a Mac running OSX 10.5. Any hints?

@tommynemec2 The only smartphones I have used personally so far are
Blackberry's. I am on my 4th one. They have served me very well. Saying
that, when all the new phones hit this summer I am probably going to change
to an Android or iPhone. The main reason actually is for the bigger screen.
As for the carrier, I have sold and used all of the big 4 and I will have
to stick with Verizon. They are the most consistent for everything and
definitely have the fewest dropped calls.

It took less than 2 years more to get to 10 Billion. Amazing. I have a
Blackberry Curve. Last year I was doing a lot of consulting so I could use
the Blackberry with a number of the companies I was working with to get
right into their network. I will go with a new phone this summer when they
all start coming out. not sure which one yet.
