I have been going crazy trying to get a Bluetooth Headset to work with
Vlingo on my Droid X. I've tried a Jabra Extreme and a Motorola H17 TXT.
Both have the same problem, I can hear through the headset, but anything I
say doesn't go through the headset. The mics on the phone are used instead.
I was able to text someones Motorola H17 (not the TXT version) and found it
works fine, but I can't get that any more as they stopped making it. Anyone
found on, which is still available, that works?
Thanks to everyone for all the comments here. We made this video on the day
we released our Android product in spring 2010. If you haven't checked it
out on Market yet, we'd encourage you to do so. Many of the features and
the app design have been updated. Plus we've added a complete handsfree
"mode" called InCar. We think it's the only feature like it available -
even Siri won't offer that type of functionality. And of course it's all
free to download, so check it out.
JUST WANT TO SAY THAT I FIND THIS IS NOT THE BEST APP. UNLESS I'M WRONG,
YOU CAN'T TELL VLINGO TO PLAY A SONG (IT SENT ME TO A GOOGLE SEARCH). THERE
IS AN APP CALLED SPEAKTOIT ASSISTANT. IT ALLOWS YOU TO TELL YOU DEVICE TO
PLAY A SONG FROM YOUR LIBRARY, MAKE NOTES, TELL YOU ABOUT PEOPLE SUCH AS GW
BUSH. MAKE CALCULATIONS. honestly people speaktoit is an amazing app and is
the closest thing to siri for apple
Evening my fellow droids, I have watched and read all the relevant
information regarding the use of Google voice search but I am unable to get
it to function correctly. For example, saying "Call house phone" , Google
goes online and finds me deals for house phone lines, similarly: "play led
Zeppelin Immigrant song", again, it goes online rather than following the
command. Any ideas?
if you wanna tell someone you are coming to a BBQ then....ring them
up...you gotta phone in your hand........also to say, i'll be there in 10
minutes......let them wait 10 minutes....then guess what...when you arrive
they'll see you......oh well at least you can twitter and tell the whole
world hotdogs made the BBQ.....DUUUUUUUH !!
if anyone one comments saying that apple ripped of this app then they are
stupid and should go die! Siri was there WAAY before this thing was made.
apple just bought the company Siri to integrate this into the iphone.
please make this the high comment so the supid people would be warned
before they put their stupid comments.
Here's a clip of an article i found: Google is concerned enough about
Siri's potential that is has shifted a key speech recognition engineer,
Dave Burke, from the U.K. to join the Android team at Google's Mountain
View. Calif. headquarters, according to Mobile India.
@Xavi997 yea except siri actually has real AI so you don't have to learn to
talk to it by sticking to a syntax... siri learns the way you talk by
understanding what your words mean. Most people don't want to learn the
syntax so siri will be way better
@therealestmc85 True, I'm not sure why that particular command isn't in
vlingo, perhaps the default alarm app doesn't support setting alarms
through intents. I prefer the more modular intents approach, but it does
have it's flaws.
@thebeetalls i am aware of what you are talking about. but again, it's not
true intergration, since it's not baked into the OS. for example, if i tell
my evo " wake me at 4:30, it wont know what the heck i am talking about.
Apple copied it, because Siri uses the same idea, just improved. Also,
Apple is a multibillion dollar company, and this is made by a small group
of developers, of course it's going to be better.
@nickthelight Yea its voice search so rather commanding your phone to do
something, you are just telling it what to search on google etc, u need a
separate app to make voice commands
@mega0samsung Yes, any Android phone running 2.0.1 or higher. You do need a
data or wifi connection to use our service though. You can download it on
Android Market for free.
not sure .. maybe its not compatible or just not available for HTC Hero
Android 2.1 CDMA by alltel .. can't get it yet .. uhmm .. any suggestions
or help .. holla ..
@VlingoVoice what do you mean by wifi or data connection to use your
service? I'll only need those to download, right? I don't need that just to
use it now would I?
