@donayre21 "Worth buying" depends on you and your family situation. The
phone can be bought for $200 with a 2yr contract. Only other major cost, is
the Data Plan which is $30 per month. So, that is $30 extra, more than the
regular minutes plan. A family plan that use to cost $80 a month (for
minute and text) will now cost you $110. (adding $30 for "data"). Each
"smart-phone" will require a separate $30 charge. That can get expensive.
@thisishowweduit Yeah, except to "set notification to silent for emails "
you have to dig into the menu system each time. With this method I save
battery life, and it is as simple as a flicking across a screen then
pressing the widget. Also, there are other apps that I use that can use the
3G connection, that may sound off in the middle of the night and/or drain
the battery. Turning off 3G via a widget is simpler and more efficient.
@DeanDino2359 So, if you are at the home-screen, you hit "Menu" ->
"Settings"-> "Wireless & networks" and you toggle off Wi-Fi, it doesn't
work? That is strange. I would first try to fully-power-off... or pull the
battery out, and restart the phone. See if that helps. Also, it is possible
you have a App installed that might be causing problems. I would first try
the pulling the battery, and restarting the phone.
Thank you for this video! I have an iPhone, and am gonna get an HTC EVO
when it comes out. I was just talking to a friend a few minutes ago
wondering if you could use the headphones as an antenna while routing the
audio elsewhere. Thank you for making this video which is infinitely more
interesting than the plethora of review videos I have seen.
@briguy0419 There is a way to completely turn Off everything. It's called
"Airplane mode". Basically, you can use this to view information on the
device that does NOT require any data or cell connections. Like list of
contacts, maybe calender info... I don't ever use that, unless I'm on a
Airplane. But then, I just turn off the phone completely.
@JasnoGT Actually, I'm born Fiji, lived in Australia, and live in USA since
1990. I'm ethnically Indian, speak very little Hindi, but can understand it
alright. I have worked hard to get rid of my Australian/Indian accent. But,
it comes through depending on the words, and if I'm nervous.... like during
this video! :)
@DeanDino2359 Well, either it is an App, or you have a defective unit. :(
Have you downloaded any strange/odd Apps lately? It might be making the
Wi-Fi connect. Does that mean you can't turn "On" the 3G connection? You
might want to check out, Android Forums, and ask about it over there.
@ValenciaFan94 The Icon with the "two circular arrows" is a the Sync icon.
It toggles whether you want to Synchronize (Mail, Weather, Facebook etc) IT
DOES NOT turn on or off the 3G (some people think it does). The icon, with
the satellite is GPS, it turns on/off GPS on the phone.
@CrypticChemist I have dropped it a few times on pavement while walking
nothing, still no marks or anything. Shitty part is is that i just got the
seidio extended battery and now i can't use the cover! Well i can if i cut
it, but it would ruin the integrity.
Lol brother completely of topic and without presence of bigotry nor intent
but listening to you from beginning of your video was deff thrown off when
ur hand appeard and saw you were black lol was not expecting it based on
your tone .. good video brother
@olimpiacampeon4ever Yeah, it's surprising the amount of coverage this
phone got before it officially came out. Like I said on the video, there is
very little reason to do a "Review". There were already 10 reviews, even
before I pre-ordered the phone.
@964mula Great ideas. I'll work on that. I was afraid most people already
know about it so they would not be impressed. But, it is still good
information for someone who is just getting into researching the phone.
I'll make one!!!
Nice tip about the 3G widget! If your phone bounces back & forth between 3G
& Whatever it's a battery drain. Mine does when inside my home (but not
outside in Seattle). This tip is a great way to solve that little problem...
another one that is rarely mentioned is the text to talk. But is it only
for text messages? a quick review on where talk to text would be neat.
emails, maps, text, search? anywhere you can talk to it. just a suggestion
