eBook used in review: Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. I've been having fun picking out the public domain texts you use for your reviews. My favorite is the Calculus Made Easy PDF. I use it to test the PDF functionality of all my devices and apps! Great review Nathan, but Sony should be publicly shamed for not upgrading their E Ink screen or font rendering technology. The new Kobo Glo and Kindle Paperwhite will feature 1024 x 768 high resolution E Ink screens.

Yes, and they arent going back to metals. I was at first disappointed, I saw it as "cheap", but readers have been getting slimmer and lighter, and it feels great. Its easier to hold, lighter to carry, making it more practical. Its not a matter of quality now, but of modern design. After all, carhandles are not metal made since the 80s...

Thank you for this nice review. I was thinking about replacing my PRS-T1 with the new PRS-T2 but as u clearly show, there are not that much differences. Just one question: Is the PRS-T2 faster with large PDF-files (about 30MB or more)? Sometimes my PRS-T1 needs a lot of time to open these PDFs.

Ah, I wasn't even aware of a new Kindle. I have a Nook Touch (no glowlight, sadly) and that has met my needs thus far so I don't really research what's out there any more. Definitely plan to upgrade to a light-equipped one though one day, it's a very cool feature.

Speed is relative. This prst2 is actually not slow compared to my old ereader called Irex. The speed of everything is perfect for me since it is a reader and not a laptop. Battery life is very good too.

Is it possible to read and make notes on a pdf file that is converted from a bunch of .jpeg files? Like I scanned a book and put them together and converted it to a pdf-file.

Your review helped a lot in deciding to get the Sony eReader or the Kobo Glo. The Sony interface seems slow - I will go with Kobo.

+Astrid van hal There's no noticeable difference in performance, just slightly better contrast. Mostly Carta is just a marketing tactic to get people to think they need to upgrade, same with 300 ppi screens. The Kobo Aura HD still has one of the best-looking displays on the market. The screen is the last reason to upgrade it.

+Astrid van hal Adding an extra 35 ppi and removing the memory card slot isn't something I'd really consider an upgrade. Otherwise they are pretty much identical, aside from the screen size of course.
