For what it's worth, I have a droid x and a few days ago I got a notification that a verizon 2.3.340 system update was downloaded and ready to be installed. I was running froyo 2.2 on a rooted phone So I was scared about what would happen if I went through with the update. But it was totally pain-free..update went through..and I was happy to see that froyo updated as well to 2.2.1 . Check out Abyss2Zero channel on youtube. I'm gonna re-root via his method..he knows his stuff.

I just got downloaded frg83 android 2.2.1 and its really worked on my rooted n1, I got new live wallpapers and 2.2.1 after i flash the update file. I lost my black notification bar and trackball unlock screen only. i'd like to share you the link but so icant post it here posting error sorry, pls let me know your email right here so then i will send that download link to you if you like to try frg83 android 2.2.1

I have an LG Optimus that was rooted on Android 2.2, and I was able to update to the Android 2.2.1 by using the LG software on my computer. BEWARE though that this unrooted my phone, and the z4root or SuperOneClick will not root it now! Google must have fixed the exploit that these programs used to root the devices!

@jonze55 Well I'm still here but the other channel had a few videos with content that didn't belong, so Instead of taking down all the videos, I rather start a new chan and only bring vids with my own content and avoid google screwing me over "AGAIN".

@JJLP44 Since I'm rooted I went and got it manually, got my blackbar, so 2.2.1 rooted w/ black notification bar and removed amazon mp3 crap, saved me some good storage

I'm not rooted and it won't load for my N1. I've been to tmobile and i've called google...nothing. I hope nothings wrong with my phone because I REALLY do love it.

I'm guessing I got it because I'm running frf91 stock rooted rom, so it still gets notifications but this is the first time. /shrug

all you have to do is get the zip file and flash into recovery str8 from the sdcard. and your phone will stay rooted
