Android Browser Dogfight! Opera Vs Firefox Vs Skyfire Vs Stock!
I'm showing you everyone that it seems like the Opera and stock browser is the best ones. Atleast for my Samsung Galaxy S2! I made this video using ...
You are wrong. The stock browser on Galaxy S 2, Galaxy Tab 10.1, etc are
tweaked by Samsung, so that it runs super smooth. Other android devices'
stock browser experiences are different. Especially Stock Gingerbread and
below web browsers are SH*T. Only the new high end Galaxy devices have the
super smooth web browsers. As smooth as Safari on iOS.
The stock browser on ICS upwards is good, below its a totally different
browser and yes, teh sh1t:) Nowadys chrome, opera and stock dont have a
clear winner but they are better then the others. Opera is the only one
that can compare with safari at smooth pinch though.
yea nathing like default browser. in fact before that blue in the browser
when you slide down and arrives, on the default browser was much better.
the blue makes you feel that one is trapped in the browser, it would be
perfect if you change
iPhone 4 VERSUS Galaxy S 2 i9100 - Browser Speed
Here I compare the browser loading speed of a few sites on an iPhone4 - running iOS 4.3.4 - and a Galaxy S 2 i9100 - running the stock O2 firmware (XWKDD) ...
Some people don't get as much joy out of iPhones as Android phones. After
having and using iPhones since the 3G I can see the good qualities and
there are a number of great apps and jailbreak mods but overall I prefer a
plug and play ecosystem that isn't tied to iTunes. With the SGS2 and other
phones I can just drag media on there and play it. No faffing about
syncing. I also like that I can freely try out new keyboards and other mods
through the market. It's not about being stupid or otherwise.
@BR0MERZ yes thats another good point. i have all my music on a MicroSD so
regardless of which Android device I have I simply have to slot the thing
in and voila rather than waiting ages for my phone to sync. It's a tough
one for me though as there are elements of iOS that I absolutely love. The
keyboard is much better than anything on Android in my opinion and there
are other things I prefer. There is no denying that iPhone 4 feels like a
premium product but a case is needed for all handsets.
@wafcarI and just because networks cancel holidays for an iPhone doesn't
make it the best phone for everyone. Some people don't like having to use
iTunes or can't because they use Linux, some people like being able to use
Flash Player or like a bigger screen because their eyesight is poor' or
like hardware keyboards. Some people just prefer Samsung or Motorola or
Nokia phones. Some people simply cannot afford overpriced iPhone contracts.
Your gleeful, bullish sense of superiority is tiresome.
Each OS has its advantage. With the S2 I can throw any video or audio file
onto the card in minutes and play on a big, lush screen. With iOS you have
to convert your files or use a third party app (and they only use software
decoding so invariably are average in performance and drain the battery).
The iPhone charges quicker than Galaxy S2; the S2 battery can be user
hotswapped. Android supports Flash so I can visit any website; iOS has
better iPlayer streams from the mobile web.
@wafcarIS2 doesn't feel dirty and cheap at all in my opinion. You have the
right to your opinion though. IOS is notso fluent when I try and play HD
content that isn't in Apple's format, it stutters all over the place and is
barely watchable. Suppose I could always spend hours converting my content
to an acceptable format and use the built in player instead. Hardly
convenient though. I will be buying an iPhone 5 to try out so I don't know
who you are trying to convince....
@ASAFYY but what's the point in that? The two phones I would be choosing
between in a phone shop would be the iPhone 4 and the Galaxy S 2. This is
the choice many other people will be making. No-one will be choosing
between an iPhone 4 and a Galaxy S i9000 because they are not a current
model. I have an iPhone 4 and a Galaxy S2 because they're the two best
phones out at the moment in my opinion. That's why I wanted to show this
comparison video. IPhone 5 isn't an option.
@ASAFYY The fact is they are the two flagship devices for Apple and Samsung
which are available to consumers right now in phone shops across the world.
Before anyone goes and buys either they MIGHT be interested to know which
has the better browser. That is the purpose of comparisons like this.
No-one can buy an iPhone 5 right now, so no-one can test the browser. The
test was perfectly unbiased and this video demonstrates which is fastest.
There is no hidden agenda. :)
so the fact that these are two current phones available as a choice in
phone shops around the world is irrelevant is it? i think people are
missing the point here. This sort of video is for people who are interested
in both phones and want to know which has the best browser; it's not about
fairness or phones that aren't available at the moment. I have both phones
and iPhone 4 is better than i9100 at other things.
@880114 you know why you have to compare the galaxy S2 to Iphone4 that is
because the S2 is cheaper priced than the cow milking iphone 4 , so you
compare smartphones on the same price range, since iphone still thinks it
is the high end model of all smartphones. Well, of course Apple thinks they
still are in a monopolistic business and totally disregard about their
competitors. Apple is loosing the competition.
@BR0MERZ I've had five iPhone 4s since last June. love the phone as an
object but the problem is I get bored of iOS really quickly. Cant live with
it without Jailbreak as I can' t be without an SMS system with quick reply,
and I use things like 3G Unrestrictor and YourTube and sbsettings. All of
this functionaility is available in Android without even needing to be
rooted.
......also if we are talking about 'stupidity' the fact is that Apple has
gleaned the greater part of its iPhone economy from stupid people coming
from dumbphones who wouldn't be able to work anything more complex and
therefore think iPhone is the greatest thing since sliced bread. This is
why Steve Jobs doesn't like jailbreaking: he wants to protect the stupid
people.
.......also Jailbreaking DOES slow the device down. It invalidates the
warranty so if for any reason you aren't able to restore You are screwed,
it also isnt something guaranteed to be available to the consumer forever.
Look how long it took for the iPad 2 jailbreak to be released. Iphone 5
could be even more locked down.
That test showed all and the browser is important plus the s2 has flash!
I'm not going back to apple again..not for phones. The s2 has a biggest
screen and all the way to the edge (just about) unlike apple who waste
space. S2 has 1080p video and it got very good reviews all over the web.
@Shainingusutaru First of all, I love how you misused "To" in the same
sentence you called others stupid. Anyway, please explain it to me how
buying a cheaper AND better phone would make me stupid compared to buying
an overpriced iphone? Because it's "stylish"?
@Shainingusutaru I pointed out how HTC's phones aren't made out of plastic.
Also plastic is less brittle and less heavy than metal. Because it's less
brittle it can more easily survive falls and because it's light, phones
using it are automatically lighter.
@FPRobber It's really funny how Apple fanboys bash Android phones such as
G2 for having a plastic cover. Not only they ignore the fact that plastic
is lighter and more efficient, it seems like they have nothing else they
can bash about. Hahaha.
