Applied to my LG G2 and wife's Iphone6, followed instructions, waited 24hrs

beaded of my LG G2, then feeling more confident placed it under a running
cold water tap for about 5 sec, pleased to report absolutely worked,

I don't have a case on my S3 either and it is really scratched up and even has cracks along the sides, but it doesn't bother me. It's also not only for accidents. Have you never wanted to use your phone in the shower. Or maybe even go swimming and take videos underwater.
It's really simple for me. You don't hold your smartphone while running...just make sure you don't drop it..Putting a case on HTC One is so pointless. Ruins it.
In my opinion, water-proof is a very necessary feature for cellphones. We
carry our phones around with us nearly 24/7, so the chance of them getting
wet are actually pretty high. I'm talking about water/coffee spills, not
even mentioning dropping our phones in the pool or river. Also, it's not
always about me using my phone carefully, let say my friend accidentally
pour water on the table where I put my phone, well, shit happens. So it is
not the water-proof's fault, but the manufacturers who should figure out
how to make a water-proof phone with good screen. I'm looking forward to
trying the Xperia Z2, since my Z1 failed to impress me.
It doesn't, he doesn't know what he's talking about. What he is referring to is the anti-shatter film on past Sony phones, this film is not present on the new Z2.

Yeah, but what happens when the "waterblock" fails, corrosion sets in and
shorts the phone? Do they fix it or replace it like Liquipel? Plus this guy
said they do it at the manufacturing level, so I guess we are all out of
luck until years from now they finally strike deals with handset
