merry christmas miss Kaye!
I just was thinking of you, so I decided to challenge you in the garden!
haha but seriously, I'd like you to try planting Brussels sprouts. have you
tried that? it is a long growing biennial, but you for sure will love the
process of growing it! Merry Christmas!!
+Gegeh Sotto It seems brussel sprouts do better if the ground freezes. That won't happen with you and me. I don't think I can order seeds from the UK. If I did, it would take forever. I will see if I can acquire some seeds tomorrow in a store, so I can get them planted. If I get mine going they will go under red voile. +Kaye Kittrell | Late Bloomer Urban Organic Garden Show sowing time is February to April, harvest is December. you can start January! I live in a tropical climate so I adjusted planting them. I started October here in the Philippines. where the weather can be cooler than expected. but you know you can't trust the climate. i hope you have a successful one cause I ended less crops.once brussel sprouts are about 4 inches tall they need to be hill around of soil for better sturdiness and protection from the wind. they feed on liquid fertilizer and gets attacked by loyal cabbage worms. haha
+Kaye Kittrell | Late Bloomer Urban Organic Garden Show great in raised beds miss Kaye. Mr. fothergills seeds has a variety that is short called Evesham Special. it is slow growing, but it fits you because you call your plant babies. its just exciting to grow.
+Gegeh Sotto I have not tried. I just returned from Santa Cruz where they grow all the brussel sprouts. I would like to, but I think it's too late to start this year. Do you grow in ground or in pots? Thanks for your support!
