Dude, R u even Texan? That offending. Your offending! Just no more with the
"Texan accents! I'm from from Texas born and raised. I know accents and
that one if fake as hell! That accent and you are just offending!
As a Texan, Im sure you're very much aware thatTexas is a very, very large state. Rural Texans speak differently than urban Texans, people from Houston sound different than people from San Antonio, sound different than people from El Paso, sound different from people from Abaline. He actually sounds like he's from Eastern Texas, as many of his vowel sounds are similar to those of the deep south (yet his inflections are very Texan). Which is probably why some commenters think he sounds like Forrest Gump. And the thickness of his accent indicates that he may be from a rural area, where there's less mixing of dialects.
Absolutely fabulous !!!! Thank you !! I have a girlfriend In Texas....so
far never talked to her but now I feel a lot more confident that I will
understand what she will say when I finally do.....thanks
friend....greetings from Holland !!
The four cardinal directions in Texas are "back yonder" (east), "up yonder"
(north), "out yonder" (west) and "down yonder" (south). I live up yonder
near Amarillo. Lubbock's down yonder from here.
+lee padilla Every single Texas citizen I have ever met has had an accent that is at least somewhat similar to this guy's accent. It is not a secret that Texas citizens talk in this way a lot of the time, there is no need to try and deny it. =DAnd yes, I mean this guy's normal accent, not the imitation thing.Be proud of your accent instead, it is actually pretty cool.
My wife is from San Antonio, Tx and when I went with her there I did not
meet a single person with a "Texas accent" I think it's fair to say that
Texas like every other state in the US Has many different dialects
depending on where in the state you come from. This applies to cities and
towns all over the world.
I'm a New Yorker so I have similar situation as you in regards of accents.
People always laugh and assume that I am dumb or that I'm like in the mob
or something...I just laugh at ignorant people and tell them to stop poking
fun at me or I'll grab my wife's horse and wack um in a drive by Horse
shooting with my uncle Vinny.....xD
+WASD IIxxIIxxII LMAO I was asked by one of my friends from Monatana why I don't have a Texas accent lol. I was born and raised in the city, though I wished I could've learned to speak with a Texas accent _.
I live in Texas and I hate it. I completely abandon all Texas accents. They
make people sound like absolute fools. I personally am a city girl and
would prefer to be living in LA right now. Country accents are so strange.
That is not how I sound at all.
I'm from Austin, but everywhere you go where there isn't a major city,
you're going to find this accent! Even major cities have their own accents
here like Accents from Dallas sound sound way different than someone from
San Antonio
+Javaris Williams I've been living in Dallas for the past 3 years now moving from California majority of people here don't sound southern at all. usually its the older people that do, like anyone above their 30s will sound southern. its not completely gone tho, i can hear it a little bit in people, like yall and saying words like pen as pin
This lady is doing the stereotypical "texas accent" no one in their right
mind in Texas talks like this lol. Rethink the "texas accent" before you go
and post a video on it!
+Lyndsey Taylor I think people watch this video to imitate the stereotypical Texan accent, I'm watching it because I like to talk to my girlfriend with goofy accents when we are in public and this is just perfect for me ;-).
+GingerGilligan Because we're Texans, lol.We just have great pride in who we are and how we're raised, and when somebody tries to fake something about us, it can be extremely offensive (like how people think we ride horses everywhere, or how they think we dress up in boots and cowboy hats). When in reality, we live in neighborhoods with modern houses, cars, and restaurants. Although, if you do go out to the country, you will see a lot of cows and horses.
How To Talk Texan
I have been getting quite a few comments regarding the "Texan Accent" and how not all Texan's talk this way. I figured that most people with enough brain to ...
Texas Accent Tag
Thought this was pretty cool, so I decided to share how a West Texan talks. For all my non-Texan friends. I was born and raised in Miles, Texas right outside of ...
The very best texan accent I've ever heard (I'm an Aussie (pronounced
Ozzie)) was done by Bradley Cooper in American Sniper. WOW. Beautiful. What
area is that accent from?
I agree. Bradley Cooper's accent was great in American Sniper. I'm from west central Texas. Right in between the center point of Texas and the New Mexico border.
Meh sounds pretty much like I do. I grew up in the austin area so I didn't
get alot of the twang thing. I think I only had one friend who spoke with a
twang. I mostly heard people that sound like him or have a heavy mexican
accent.
Yep this is one of the two major Texas accents, the West Texas Twang, kinda
like Bush although the person in the video had such a mild accent. The
other is the East Texas Drawl which is like the deep South and pretty close
to Northern Louisiana and Mississippi.
Twang is more like Tennessee, which is fair considering many men like Davy Crockett came from there. "You all can go to hell I'm going Texas" -Davy Crockett
