Heather Cameron,
First, I would like to applaud your work, it is awesome and really needed
to foster growth in young girls and their community.
I am from Kenya, 37 years old, still trying to understand my role in life,
family and community.
I was fortunate enough to finish high school, my five sisters and twin
brother did too.
I have a job, been married, now separated because apparently I did not know
what my wife wanted, yet I paid all the bills like a man is supposed to, I
do feel like men are jut pawns being moved around until women find the
better man. (that's my opinion) But knowing that I have sacrificed all my
life for that person, go to school, study, get a job, take care of family,
that includes, my parents, siblings and my in-laws who I have spent the
better half of my adulthood with, I am confused.
What is the role of men? Do girls grow up and don't need men? apart from
their amusement and procreation?
As a man, do I focus on myself and the stresses I have to endure everyday
hoping that it is worth fighting for the partner I will choose or rather
the woman that chooses me because I believe women choose their spouses, and
that's why they move on to the next guy without remorse.
What advise do you give the men who are supposed to be the pillars or heads
or punching bags in their home or community?
