What Does It Meant by Dilation and Curettage (D & C)?
Dilation and curettage) procedure surgery and recovery . , . . . . D and c (dilation and curettage) dilation and curettage (d&c) is a brief surgical procedure in which ...
Asherman's Syndrome: My story
My personal experience of developing Asherman's syndrome (intrauterine adhesions) after one suction D&C to 'treat' the miscarriage of my first pregnancy.
I'm very sorry for what has happened to you adn the similarity of your
story to so many Asherman's women. I too had asherman's fortunately stage
II and just in the mid portion of my cervical canal. I too asked about
scaring and told it was "rare" OBGYN is a surgical speciality and too many
of these doctors push for unneccesary D&C by using scare tactics of "pain
of miscarriage, possible infection bla bla" but never what to discuss other
possiblities. very sorry, hope more women will take charge
I hired a lawyer to sue the doctor for inducing my labor, pulling the
placenta, breaking it (my body wasn't ready to let it go), having me go
through a D&C, having close to nothing of a period anymore and having a
miscarriage...but the case failed to continue because the lawyer said that
there's not enough evidence that shows much fault from the doctors side.
Ok, I know, not much... but why did she have to induce me? The doctor asked
me if she could give me the injection, and I said, "ok".
@patriciaz11 It's so unfair that women with this iatrogenic condition
rarely get any form of acknowledgement of wrongdoing on the part of Drs,
let alone compensation for damages. The problem is with blind D&Cs, and as
long as Drs can get away with inadvertantly injuring women this way without
repercussions, it will continue. That's why I'm trying to educate people
about alternatives to D&C. Retained placenta can be managed conservatively,
with misoprostol, or removed hysteroscopically.
When a Dr tells you that you MUST have surgery and there are NO
alternatives one tends to believe them. Sadly, some Drs overestimate their
knowledge or think of their wallets before their patients' future
reproductive capacity, especially if they have the same ignorant attitude
towards late mothers as you do. If you watched the video you would no that
I had no trouble conceiving at 39 (or 43!). Drs must give women choices in
treatment and acknowledge risks of procedures they perform.
It seems to be easier to demonize women for leaving it 'too late'. Perhaps
we should also be encouraging all men to marry in their twenties? It takes
two. Furthermore, Asherman's syndrome not only severely reduces their
fertility, but also automatically makes pregnancy in women of any age 'high
risk'. The logical conclusion would be that these are good reasons NOT to
perform D&Cs in women aged over 35, especially if they don't want or need
one, and/or to offer medical management.
I had asherman sindrome since 2002,we had 4 msc,2 ectopic pregnancies,and
still keeping faith to made it somehow. 4 I Inseminations 4 IVF and 2
cirguries with the "ballon" in LA,drs said my only chance to have a baby is
surrogacy :( The things you said in your video its same things they tell
me,we start searching for baby on 2002 and i was 26,now i am 32 and tica
tac keeps sounding hope every woman knows about the risks of D & C!! Thank
for share with us this xoxo marisol
I think my story also shows that unfortunately some Drs will do whatever
they wish even when a patient does take charge and specifically requests
another safer treatment. Drs must be trained about using medical management
or hysteroscopic removal (as well as of the true risks of Asherman's
syndrome) so that it will not be up to each patient to make a case for
themselves, only to be 'overruled' as I was.
It is easy to demonize doctors. The truth of the matter is, trying to get
pregnant at age 39 is highly risky both for the mother and the baby.
Besides, u can always go to a different doctor, no one can "force" you into
any procedure.. Sorry for ur loss..
@Ashermans I have a gyne trying right now to FORCE me into a hysterectomy
OR D and C for cervical stenosis and post ablation syndrome. I Cancelled my
surgery date. SCREW HIM!!! All I need is a lousy DILATION!
Cycle day 4 after miscarriage and D&C
first cycle since D&C started 4 weeks and 3 days after d&c. we will now be starting to ttc and I am excited to hopefully get my bfp soon.
Just the part about "Hi mommy & daddy" would crush me! I couldn't handle
that part most! I know what you mean about your brother and sister having
kids already. My SIL just had my nephew a year ago and now she might be
pregnant again. My sis is alot older than me so she had kids awhile ago.
But I think I know the feeling! Maybe it will happen after you get the new
job when you least expect it!
Hey girl am happy about af because you can get to try again you don't

it always hurts. But when that Baby is blessed to the both of you,
EVERYTHING will be alright.
RE-UPLOAD.. Thought I had deleted this but found it while cleaning up my computer.. Wow it's crazy re-watching it! I was so hopeful to fall pregnant right away..
Hi, I'm not sure what you decided to do after this video, but whatever you
decided, I hope for the best for you. I just wanted to comment that you
mentioned in this video that you wanted a baby really bad because you are
at the right time to have one. However, you said that your "boyfriend" said
to wait 3 months,.. Well, I really think you should wait until you both
are MARRIED to bring a child to the world. Now that would be the utmost
responsible thing to do for a child :)
+joy garcia We've been together for almost 8 years and living together in our own house for 5 years. We are very responsible :)
