UNBELIEVABLE! Horse Racing Exposed: From Cradle to Grave
From cradle to grave, racehorses live tortured, terrifying, brutal, and completely thankless lives. Above all else, horse racing is a business and a multi-billion ...
Excuuuuuuse me. Fuck you, you piece of living shit. I have a race horse and
it is love of sport and horse! I love my Dowling to death! You are not part
of the horse world so you can't say shit!
I hate to say this...but I agree with most of what you said.
Heck thoroughbreds are so inbred they suffer from weak hooves and fragile
legs!
My horse was 3/4 thoroughbred and we were constantly having hoof issues.
Talking to farriers apparently mustangs have the best hooves out there
strength/health wise!
My trainer would lament how race horses off the track were neurotic in
refusing to stand still when mounting and having bad stall manners.
Training from the ground up was often necessary. Heck my mare HATED stalls
and we has an open stall free access large paddock for her.
She would deliberately injure herself if stalled for 48 hours. Plus her
legs swelled! Almost took out a 4H persons head with a hoof to make a point
of it. Last event we went to. All because of a stupid fair ground liability
rule of only letting your horse out to walk for 15 mins after 10pm! They
wondered why horse attendance went to almost 0 the next year. Other horses
got pissed off to....literally.
My thoroughbred has incredibly strong feet. Mustangs are also very very inbreed most of the time as they are not an actual classified breed. Mustangs are the mutt of horses and are many many different breeds crossed together.
This is so full of crap. My god I laughed from all the lies in this video.
The part about the breeding well a stallion at stud stands up for millions
for one try at a mare, that mare then gives birth and has the foal 6 months
till it is weaned and then the foal is taken from its mother (like all
breeds of horses) if you didn't take a foal from the mare between 6-8
months it would make the mare I'll from repeat milk feeding, risk growth in
the young from not eating hard feed and could course many illness in the
mare from producing milk for so long.
I am a horse owner, rider and competition rider and yes I own ex race
horses that have raced, won and retired from the race industry and all are
fit and healthy and show worthy animals.
As for the bits, race horses have "snaffle based bits" the lightest bits in
the equine world, harsh bits ARE NOT USED as it slows and reduces
performance in the animal, and a bit is used to ride and to lead to the
field, they do not wear them 24/7.
And this is just to have more control not to keep balance as if you think
that's the reason for a bit you are idiotic. Seriously learn to ride and
see where that information takes you.
Horses are broken from 2-4 years in other areas of the equine world and
live long lives, horses die from colic, field injuries and sometimes from
freak accident. I know I've lost some horses to silly illnesses that
couldn't be helped.
Stop spreading lies and get your facts straight
These actually aren't lies. I'm an eventer so I personally don't agree with the past few videos but horse racing is cruel. They have been bred to their fullest extent and after every race 90% of the horses suffer from heart failure etc. after every race. Horses who don't make it are sold to eventer 5% of the time, but 95% of the time they are slaughtered!
I absolutely cried, so much disbelief and horror. I hope equestrians and
horse-lovers educate themselves and become aware of these treatments beyond
what they may already know in their own field of experience. Horses are
such beautiful animals, yet are some of the most burdened.

Mongol Derby: World's Longest, Toughest Horse Race
Part 1: Competitors test their physical and mental limits on the backs of wild horses in Mongolia. Part 2: Facing extreme weather, injuries and sickness, Mongol ...
Stop torturing Mongolian horses!!! if you want ride mongolian horses spend
at least couple days to bond with them first!!! I see that all the
participants used their own SADDLES either american or english wich is the
most cruel thing thing to do.Why? because it's not what the horses are used
to (UNCOMFORTABLE). Just look how the horses acting after few hours of ride
:( . I am Mongolian and i don't like how they're treating horses to satisfy
themselfs!!!
Changing a sadddle, as long as it is fitted correctly, is no problem whasoever. I've thrown a western saddle on my english mare for the fun of it, and she was absolutely perfectly behaved as well as content.
First time I have Heard of the Mongolian Race, thank you for posting it.
100 miles+ a day is tough as compeditors in races like the Tavis Ride over
the Sierras can testify.
A 25 mile streach for an uncondition ponny carrying rider and gear is not
bad.
That over ½ of the compeditors had to drop out! I suspect they ran the
ponnies too hard, running them as shown in the film will take the wind out
of them pretty fast. Top endurance riders trott their horses seldom
breaking over into a run.
+WachdByBigBrother yes, it depends on the horse. If they have a relaxed, calm canter, it can cover ground nicely. I have one who canters most of the ride and my others feel more comfortable at the trot. I allow the horse to pick the gait (most of the time)- but I pick the speed.
+WachdByBigBrotherYes the shorter 40km. race, the longer 80 - 100 - 120 and 160km would be at the trott. Charles II of England (1660 - 1680) inferred the rules of racing that the 6year old horse was to win two 4 mile (6.4km) heats, often having to do two more heats in the same day. This was in order to breed top horses. We do not want people believing that running the endurance horse is the norm.
I saw a video of an Arab endurance race where American riders were in it and did well. They rode most of it at a steady ground covering canter. I know the trot is the norm but apparently it isn't the only way to do things.
Girl from Texas WON.. PERIOD.. It isnt her fault that she picked a horse
that wasnt in as good shape as the 2nd. Considering they left the final
check point MINUTES apart and she finished MINUTES ahead of the 2nd
finisher, Id say she didnt push the horse any harder than the 2nd place
girl.
CONGRATS DEVON...
+HitsOutdoors No- because the horse must be "fit to continue" and if the heart rate doesn't come down, it means the horse was over ridden- Being a true horseman helps in this game. The horses should always come first.
Nope. She should have taken care of her horse, and he would have pulsed down more efficiently. There was no reason for her to canter in when no one was within eyeshot. Common sense.
Maybe now that Texas chick will know not to push her horse so much, she is
lucky that horse isn't dead. Slow and steady wins the race.... this is
technically an *ENDURANCE* ride, so you have to *PACE* yourself.
+Nikki B The Orcinus orca you would think that if you looked behind you- and you don't see anybody coming, you could back off, or even get off and walk the horse in so the P & R would be better at the finish.
