I am a Christian. But I felt so incredibly unfulfilled. So behind the back
of my wife of 17 years, and my two daughters, I slept with a random man in
a filthy bathroom at a truckstop. Am I doomed to Hell? Please help me.
+Jacob Bouser Jacob...first of all you didn't sleep with anybody in bathroom at a truckstop. If you are a Christian, you know the first stop to forgiveness is confession of the TRUTH. If you had sex with someone--you gotta start there. Confessing the sin. And confession goes to God. If you CONFESS your sins, God promises to forgive and cleanse for ALL unrighteousness. That includes ALL sin. People who are forgiven aren't doomed to Hell.
Actually that's false doctrine our sinful nature is taken away when we accept Jesus Christ as being son of God and our Lord and savior we are made new made righteous before God. Through the blood of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit cleanses our old sinful minds to be able to move forward and think and act as citizens of heaven here on earth. Jesus said sin no more. Think and act as Jesus is his character it's the character we are now.
+Jacob Bouser please remember that Christ died for all. we are born with sin, we will continue to sin till the day we die. read your bible confess your sins to the Lord, but you can't keep this from your wife. you need to talk with your pastor, receive council
+Jacob Bouser You use a username that would seem that you intend for people to understand that to be your own first and last name, then you seemingly confess something openly without regard to whether your wife and daughters may happen upon it. Considering the nature of what you are appearing to confess and that lack of regard for your wife and daughters, it makes it very suspect that this is a sincere post. Be that as it may, I have to err on the side of caution and ask myself what if it is. Therefore, in case there is any truth to your post:" Please help me."If you are Christian, then you know where your help lies, so this further raises suspicion in your motives. But again, for the sake of the benefit of the doubt..."I am a Christian....Am I doomed to Hell?"Read that again. Read it again. See anything wrong with this picture? How many Christians do you think will be in Hell? The feel of what you've written is that you want someone to rescue you from your feeling of guilt, and fear of consequences. It feels like you're hoping that someone will say something to make you feel better. Here is what each thing I read makes me feel:"But I felt so incredibly unfulfilled."Self- justification. "I screwed up, but I had a really good reason for doing so!""So behind the back of my wife of 17 years, and my two daughters...,"It feels almost like you are indirectly saying something to the affect of, "How could I do that; how I could hurt my loving family? See, I am not a bad person after all because I recognize what I did behind my family's back was wrong. But I still feel so badly; can somebody say something to make me feel better?" In what seems to be a further attempt to solicit feelings of compassion and understanding from others - for yourself, you appear to be pointing out how evil you know you are for hurting who you know to be your innocent family. How could anyone throw rocks at you when you openly confess that you hurt those who are closest to you. However, this wreaks with the fear of getting caught, or else regret for having been caught (even if the form of being caught was you confessing it to whomever), but not remorse or repentance! There's not one word about how you have sinned against God!, as well as them. Sure, you admit that you did it behind their backs, but hey, after all, they made you feel unfulfilled, so they really couldn't expect you not to do something grotesque like that._"I slept with a random man..."First of all, may I just say, "Eww!""...in a filthy bathroom at a truckstop."Secondly, "Double Eww!""Am I doomed to Hell?"Why are you asking us? We are just as guilty as you are! Why not try asking the One who sends people to Hell! Point of fact: he answers your question in his word. Furthermore, Google "cross reference 1 John 1:9." But, before "confessing" your sins, ask yourself what it means to confess your sins; ask yourself what it means to forsake them, to repent of them. You see, confessing your sins is not just admitting guilt of having committed something that God says is wrong, but is instead believing that it is in fact sinfully wrong, atrociously evil and deadly. Come to a point where you honestly feel that way about what you've done before confessing to your God or your family. Otherwise, it's about making yourself feel better, instead of godly sorrow over the crime committed.
If you confess and repent of your sins, HE is faithful and just to forgive your sins and return you to righteousness.
