it might work if your pliers can get a good grip on the keys but I'm not sure if applying some pressure like that on the keycaps would damage the keycaps themselves or maybe even damage the switch when pulling the keycaps out.

There's absolutely no pain for the patient. There's even no need of anesthetics... The reason is that we are pushing on the tooth with the instrument, which is the same as when the patient is chewing.
